I don’t really agree with the comparison. The guys you listed in the beginning all had high expectations because they were all drafted extremely high. AJ E doesn’t have the same expectations as Dareus. Moss doesn’t have the same expectations as Spiller. This is because of their draft position. I do agree with your conclusion though. The Bills, picking in the 20’s plus, show we are already a good team and the media knows that now.

Way too much was made about Fromm in the fifth. A winning QB from a big time program with good backup potential is a decent pick in the fifth. Way too many people hate that pick.

Here we go lol. 1st round pick in 2014 and 1st round pick in 2015 = Sammy Watkins is a Bill. 2 1st round picks. 1st round pick in 2020 (and other picks) = Stefon Diggs is a Bill. 1 1st round pick. It’s that simple. You count ALL the picks used to acquire a player, not just the traded one.

Newsome is the VP and former GM. He has a ton of say in that building, don’t kid yourself.

Ingram was slowed down more towards the second half of the year, which proved to be the key to beating them. San Fran, The Bills, and the Titans shut him down, and it’s not a coincidence those were some of the closest games they played all year. Losses, in regards to the Titans.

Not every route is the primary or secondary read. Peterman consistently made decisions his arm couldn’t cash. Bad decisions + bad arm = pick city.

This ball velocity thing is meaningless for whatever reason. Peterman was 49 mph. You just need to watch the tape. That’s not an out route, it’s a poorly run hitch route that should have never been thrown to. Nate stares down the receiver the ENTIRE time, and the DB is squatting in the flat in between the receiver and the ball. He makes a great play on the ball, but that throw wasn’t ever there. Maybe Josh can hurtle it in there before the DB jumps it but I think it’s a pick six or PBU regardless of who is throwing it. The stare down is HORRIFIC. The backside S basically gets there before the ball has reached its target, let alone the DB who is already there. God, Peterman sucks so bad.

Is that really that shocking? We drafted some solid players IMO but player evaluation is subjective. Got a DE whose stock fell basically all year, and the 7th RB off the board. If you didn’t think AJ was all that special, and weren’t particularly impressed with Moss, you’d think it was a mediocre draft.

A lot of QB’s look worse with (tape, time, big contracts) except ours, IMO. If the Browns/Bengals/Steelers can steal 2-3 games, the bye will be up for grabs.

Seeing as Ozzie Newsome gave up a fifth rounder for Calais Campbell, why wouldn’t he consider him his fifth round pick? Regardless of what Beane or this board says, we didn’t draft Stefon Diggs. The Vikings drafted at our pick because we didn’t draft anybody in the first round. Christ, this is the “Sammy only cost one first round pick” double speak crap all over again. Man, someone mentioned the 2016 draft earlier, and now you have me thinking, “They considered Ragland in the first!”

Campbell was such a clutch add. Jake Fromm is the next Brady, but I would have traded that pick for Campbell.
