They could have traded him and got a big return, but I get it. -
Jefferson gets paid: 4yr, $140m contract signed

Signing a super elite WR before you have the QB room in hand seems like putting the cart before the horse, but what do I know? Without a massive salary cap increase, I don't see how this WR trend is tenable. -
Except this is a high level athlete with a background in a correlate skill, as there is some crossover in skillset with wrestling and O/D Line technique. We're not going out and signing a pole vaulter.

This situation happens every day to all sorts of people in all sorts of professions. Maybe it's not fair but it is the way it is. You can work hard at something all your life and your peak might not be as good as someone who just picked it up. I played a club sport at a high level after college and convinced my brother in law to try out for the team I was on. Not only did he make it, he ended up higher on the roster than me because of his excellent athletic skill, despite me playing the game for 10+ years. I wasn't salty though, it's just the reality of the situation.

You get 90 guys and you know 15-20 of them essentially have zero shot to make the team. You might as well fill those spaces with insane athletic talent and see if you get surprised. The Bills have a whole lot of lotto ticket players at camp and if 1-2 of them hit Beane will end up looking like a genius. Zero risk, so go for it.

My dad became a gambling addict late in life and spent a ton of money before ultimately dying on a bender after disappearing for weeks. He left my mother in a very, very rough place financially and now she'll likely have to work until she dies. I had to step in and pay off the last of her mortgage, which has had reverberating effects where I'm now 5-10 years behind financially compared to my peers. Because of this I'm personally against gambling and I try to stay away from it. I don't think it's healthy for it to be promoted so heavily, and I'm not a fan of it becoming such a huge sponsor of basically every sport, but I do think it's better to be legal and regulated than pushed out of sight where people can be exploited.

Saleh should already be gone. JD has put together a very good team, although they've had terrible luck at the most important position.

I said it before and I'll say it again: He's going to be bad this year and go off on some RFK brain worm riddled conspiracy theory onto how it isn't his fault. He has a massive ego that's not going to let him be humble, and the NY media is going to exacerbate the situation 10 fold. It's a perfect storm for Bills fans.

Kaiir Elam discussing the last 2 years & his struggles...
Bruffalo replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd say anything the Bills can get out of him is a bonus, and not to be expected. Elam is going to have to perform astonishingly well in camp to see any meaningful time on the field. I wouldn't bet on it. We should all be thankful that we took Benford and that he's become a decent CB2. -
What to do with the post June $10 M that will be available
Bruffalo replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sign Hyde back for a vet minimum deal, save the rest for when an impact player suddenly becomes available via trade, EDGE and WR are strong candidates. -
NFL plans to have over $25 Billion per year in revenue by 2027
Bruffalo replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Must be nice to know you have a product that is basically a "sure thing". I can't really see any way that the NFL makes less money or gets less popular moving forward. -
Bills sign Chase Claypool, Smoot, Jones
Bruffalo replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is so overdramatic for a guy who stands to make essentially a vet minimum salary. He has zero leverage to "be a cancer" at any point in training camp or the regular season. He's a big, fast guy with good hands. Are you trying to say that the Bills should be more invested in character than athletic ability? It's been one of the major criticisms of the Bills since McD took over. -
Bills sign Chase Claypool, Smoot, Jones
Bruffalo replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's no real pressure either way with Claypool, and I think that's the best thing about the signing. The Bills have made practically zero investment, so they can wash their hands of him if they don't like him or his attitude in camp. It's the definition of a low-risk high-reward, and it's exactly who you want in a training camp. I think it's funny some of the people I hear against the Claypool signing are also Justin Shorter truthers. -
Considering some of the allegations against him he probably should be in jail. He had every opportunity to seek help if he's having mental health issues. Having a mental health crisis doesn't excuse your actions, as much as it might explain them.

The nepotism in the NFL is wild. Don't get me wrong, nepotism is everywhere. It's amazing that a guy like Hackett, who should be an OC of a D3 football team at this point, is still getting chances. He basically destroyed the Broncos franchise.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
Bruffalo replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Somebody should tell Beane that three WR3s doesn't make a WR1. I don't hate the MVS signing. In a vacuum it's fine, but we're using our whole paycheck on scratch offs and expecting a big payout. MVS could work out, but he's played with elite QBs his whole career and still had drop issues. -
WR trade candidates, who do you want?
Bruffalo replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
If we could sign Metcalf that would a huge win in my opinion. We'd need to extend him in order to drop the cap hit though, and that might be pricy. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills

Does it make Bills fans feel worse about the Coleman pick knowing that the Team that highly drafted N'Keal Harry and Tyquan Thorton wanted him? -

Bills sign Chase Claypool, Smoot, Jones
Bruffalo replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Claypool... I don't hate it. He's the living embodiment of low risk / high reward. He has every physical tool to succeed, he just needs to put in the effort. I doubt that this is his wake up call, but if it is he'll be home run. I still want a more "sure thing" roster lock, but this is excellent competition or at the very worst, practice squad depth. -
Stephen Ross Turned Down $10 BILLION For the Dolphins

Considering Miami is going to be under water in ~20 years, I don't know that he made a wise decision. -
What's the point of this team's philosophy?
Bruffalo replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
It didn't help that he picked the opposite option route that Allen was looking for so consistently. That might have been the single most frustrating part of his game to me. Remember that time Allen got called for grounding because Davis chose the wrong route? Has that ever even happened to any other QB in the modern NFL? -
I don't think that unrealistic at all, honestly. Allen has had MVP buzz ever since 2020. Last season he didn't get it due to turnovers. I expect his TOs to drop now that Gabe Davis isn't on the team and Coleman is. 10-12 wins is where they've been right around every season since 2020. The last two playoff matchups against the Chiefs has gone to the wire. They're not significantly better than us, despite what the agitated fanbase here is going to tell you.
-
- Bills go 12-5, Allen gets a MVP because the narrative is that they took away his weapons and they still were very successful. - Aaron Rodgers breaks down (physically, but probably mentally too), Jets win 7 games. - The Patriots get a Wildcard spot - Miami falls apart as the offense is found out, but they continue to beat up on bad teams. Tua is still signed to a 45+ Million a year contract. - Bills get to the AFC championship, beating the Chiefs in the divisional round.
