  1. At a minimum, Singletary stays until Moss shows he's fully back from the ankle injury. Plus he's a decent blocker, knows the offense, and is cheap.
  2. Some players likely need in-person Spring OTA's. Meet their teammates, get extra coaching close up, PT and injury rehab, develop good habits, stay out of trouble, get a sense of belonging, take in Bills culture,, etc. This doesn't happen staring at an iPad.
  3. Yes he does! https://youtu.be/jBt1nwR7dyk
  4. Draft position doesn't affect the reality of who the player is now. Oliver is the player you see. If he's better with support then you either support him in his 3-tech role or let him play out his rookie contract and move on. Same thing with Shaq.
  5. This position is too important to just hope on Star (Wish upon a Star?) or assume Harry recovers fully. Doesn't matter if every offense is a pass first offense. If your run D is soft, your 3 tackle is undersized, and your MLB can't shed, the opponent WILL play the matchup and run on you. I think Olver will be wasted until they restore their 1 tech DT. Any chance the trainers get a few pounds off him and he stays on the field for passing downs?
  6. I didn't see any numbers in the article and in my opinion, the cautions will be notably outdated by September 2021. Neither the paper, nor the editorial positions by Alex Piquero and the others seemed to suggest that having fans in attendance was reckless.
  7. Buffalo has had their share of excellent guards (McKenzie, DeLamielleure, Jim Richer, Reuben Brown, Incognito) and this is the collective standard I'll judge good guard play by regardless of differences in the modern game. Able to physically and/or technically beat their opponents on a consistent basis. Ford - perhaps too slow footed and off-balance to be a tackle, and underwhelming at guard. He would have to take a big step (think Allen year 1 to year 2) to justify starter talk.
  8. Barring the ability to acquire more value than you're giving up, I'd prefer to draft a player. I like having young talent with fewer injuries on affordable rookie contracts.
  9. Got it. Thx. Guess it hangs as unspent draft capital for .........
  10. Could it in some part be as simple as Miami wanting to see what they have in Tua this year while still having the draft capital to get a QB next year if Tua doesn't pan out?
  11. I expect Allen to seek his market value. Is he a resident of NY or CA? If so, seems he would also factor in state income taxes when negotiating.
  12. Agree. With the exception of Allen, Beane's record doesn't justify trading up. I also want an infusion of rookies to make the team because Allen's next contract will require us to have contributions from as many (or more?) affordable players as we have now. Bills are positioned well to not chase players or positions.
  13. A better 1-tech DT will make Oliver and Edmunds more effective and lessen the pressure on our safeties to make so many run stops. Hanging this responsibility solely on Star wouldn't be my preference. I'd love to see a 1-tech in rounds 2-4.
  14. The player the Bills want is Knox without the drops.
  15. Being more than one deep at THE most important position. Being able to accommodate the scenario where #1 is out a game or two and you still expect to win. Smart.
  16. First was a game on tv in the 70s. 2nd memory was watching Ferguson play with a bad ankle in the playoffs. Saw that on a TV in a Sears store.
  17. Nice to be in a position where we don't HAVE to start Ford. Nice to be in a position where we can draft best OL available (at whatever position) and not feel pressured into taking only a tackle.
  18. I like that we retained Milano. Now I'm hoping the Bills develop competitive LB depth such that LB3 isn't a huge talent drop-off. Klein can do some nice things, but he's not the LB3 with decent coverage ability we need.
  19. "The Buffalo Bills, in conjunction with Shea's Buffalo, The Spirit of Youth, and Wegman's bring you a spectacular cultural event-filled Sunday starting at 9AM!! See local stars, taste exotic treats, hear the singing, see the dance, get your blood pressure checked, take a nap or talk business in your suite!! (Note: Game at 1pm may interfere with scheduled activities.)
  20. For any coach to take an interview they are not only considering the position, but the uprooting of their family, leaving friends, buying/selling a house, etc. Of course it's distracting.
  21. Probably right. Ted had a range of reported weights. I mention those two guys as examples of tackles I remember as dominant and frustrating to opponents. When the Bills had the Ted Washington - Pat Williams tandem they were solid up the middle. I felt Wilfork could shed engage/disengage as needed. I don't expect to reproduce Washington-Williams exactly as now at least one of your DT's (even front) is expected to generate some pass rush. Just hoping to see less 2nd level runs that require our safeties to make the tackle.
  22. Seeing Shelvin listed as 6'3", 346 lb. Ted Washington: 6'6", 365 lb. Vince Wilfork: 6' 1 3/8", 340 lb. I know it's not a weight competition, but Shelvin's big enough. Someone else can tell me about his ability to anchor or lateral movement but if he were no worse than Star his first year...........
  23. Do Barmore and Oliver hypothetically play on the field at the same time or is Barmore also an NFL (not college) 3-tech?
  24. Every year I remind myself we'll never get all the pieces we need. I think with the 1-tech DT figured out, the Bills get a more effective Oliver and Edmunds so with one position fixed, you upgrade two others. Maybe Star is still the guy, but a big DT is a need to me. In much the same way, if the Bills can't get a new RB and TE, a solid OL player could boost the running game with the players we have. Odd for a such a talented team to have so many perceived needs.
  25. Hold or trade back. Only trade up for a QB IMO. Beane reaches and ends up with Cody Ford and Edmunds. Also, you have to decide whether you're going to cut down the number of rookies you bring in BEFORE they ever step on your practice field with your coaches and get evaluated in your system OR you bring in a full compliment of rookies to evaluate (again) on your field with your coaches in your system with your players etc. and do a proper Bills evaluation for a month or so before making cuts. To many holes to get cute trading up. Get these guys into camp and look at them then.
