I’m not really sure how any of us can think a middle linebacker in the first round moves the needle for this team to get to the super bowl. We need weapons. Weapons that are signed beyond next season. It would totally suck if we took a defensive player that doesn’t scare anyone and teams like the chiefs or bengals sit there and take offensive players that abuse our shiny new defensive player for years to come. Rinse and repeat with some of you. Time to wake up and realize this is the new age nfl.

Totally agree. It’s like we have been weened into thinking every time we lose a defensive player we have to replace him with a first round pick. Meanwhile, the offense had needs for an entire year and people are so quick to dismiss that now that edmunds moved on. Doesn’t make sense to me. If you want to add a LB in 2-4, then fine. But enough with all these first round defensive players.

Mike Clay's roster talent evaluation all 32 teams ranked

The fact that you wrote “please don’t ask where we would be without Allen” tells me you already know the answer. He’s doing all he can with a crap oline and lack of weapons outside of Diggs. -

Well said. Completely agree. It’s my fear that they are handling this like they have in the past by signing complimentary pieces on offense and then will go d heavy in the draft again. We still don’t have a boundary receiver outside of Diggs and Davis. It’s the same situation we were in last year at this point. Hopefully they address it with Hopkins or with a top pick. -
This would be horrific. Meanwhile, the chiefs get hyatt and the bengals get trapasso’ top ranked OT.

Not true. He’s got Diggs. The WR ranking illustrates exactly how bad the complimentary pieces are though. -

People don’t want to believe stats or metrics when they don’t align with their opinions or personal beliefs. -

WR is low, but that just shows how crappy our corp is without Diggs. You gotta think Diggs is the only reason we aren’t a lot lower. -

So basically, we are in the red at every position on offense except qb. Meanwhile, every position on defense is green. Shocker… -
If the draft we're today...

I disagree 100%. They didn’t burn a premium pick on a guy they didn’t have a plan for. -

The chiefs laid the blueprint on how to win in the modern nfl. They fixed their oline and the eagles, who had the third most sacks in the regular season in nfl history, couldn’t touch Mahomes in the sb. They didn’t go out and go heavy on d. They built around Mahomes. Offense is the way to go…not drafting to stop other teams offenses. Ask Philly how that worked. -

I’m “game” as well. Here’s the thing…we don’t need to have a top d to win a sb. Make the o unstoppable and keep the d around top 12-15 and it would be good enough. I’m sure they talked to bernard in his exit interview and asked him to bulk up. They spent a day 2 pick on him and it would be beyond silly to give up this early when we have huge needs on offense. It’s an offensive league. Does one middle LB move the needle that much? We have the best safety duo in the league coming back to pick up the pieces. “Very little choice”? Come on dude. I guess we can’t find a LBer in the mid rounds like they seem to do with offensive players, huh? -

Wrong. They do have one. They drafted bernard last year with a day 2 pick as insurance in losing edmunds. They need to develop him and make it work. Can’t keep dumping into the d and ignoring the offense with premium picks. -
Building an Entire Draft Board: Wide Reciever's Rankings

I really like Jayden Reed, but I question if he will be there at 59. I am concerned Beane will go for a LB in 1 and then a lineman in 2, leaving sloppy seconds and thirds at WR in 3. They just don’t swell to value receiver like other teams. -
As long as he can coach as well as Andy Reid then I’m all for it!

I disagree. Lots of Diggs comps to jordan Addison. If you could get him at 27, would anyone be upset? How about Steve smith comps to Zay flowers? That would also be a good problem to have…

Bills have shown interest in Lavonte David.

I agree. I’m kinda concerned we will “fill holes” on offense in free agency and spend the draft on defensive players. -
Graham Glasgow, veteran guard, now available

No more signing vets for the offense and drafting defense. We need to fill holes on the defense in FA and get younger on offense through the draft. -

I would LOVE this draft. Robinson is a top 5 talent, Jayden Reed is gonna be a really good receiver, and Brown hits like a truck. Vorhees would be a great value late and will only be there due to injury. -
Robinson is more than “ok”. He’s widely considered a top 5 player in the entire draft. That said…I don’t want to trade up for him either. If he falls to 27, then I’d be more than ok with it.
