  1. If I was Allen I’d be dejected too…the reality that Beane will draft the BDPA (best defensive player available) is looming already… Agree. Bring in reich. He won a sb with the eagles and would be great for Allen.
  2. That’s kinda the point i was making. He was forced into the slot after they let Beasley walk and crowder got hurt. Now…Beasley is back because McKenzie was struggling and now he can do what suits him best.
  3. Can’t argue this. Other than the pick used to trade for Diggs, the highest pick Beane has used for a WR is round 4. I do expect it to change this draft, though.
  4. I think the only way McKenzie sees any burn is in gadget situations. With Beasley back, I think the slot is his for the rest of the playoffs.
  5. You beat me to it!
  6. Can’t pay everyone and you can draft a running back and have years of control on the cheap.
  7. We have needed WR and OL all year. We can’t keep using first round picks on defense just to replace guys we are losing. At some point, we are gonna have to use premium resources on the offense. We can find a safety or LB just as easily in the mid to late rounds. Those rounds don’t always have to be relegated to the offense. Really? So you just choose to leave out Epenesa, Basham, and bernard?
  8. Well we only have 6 picks, and I can guarantee they won’t all be spent on offense.
  9. It’s early, but you “know” BPA is going to be defense? This is very contradicting.
  10. I could definitely see this and wouldn’t mind as long as the offense is addressed in 1 and 2.
  11. Yeah it will be interesting. Epenesa is on the last year of his rookie deal next year and I wonder if he’s in their plans. If he is, keep him and move Basham. If we got a 4th for him, we could use that pick to move up in the draft of a player we like is there.
  12. No option behind Edmunds? Did you forget about the third round pick that they wasted this past draft?
  13. So you would spend a first round pick on a DE to cover for Von the first half of the season? Sorry…that philosophy seems way off to me. Meanwhile…Davis has been a huge disappointment and there isn’t anyone behind him as a boundary receiver. That’s more of a need than a fill-in DE IMO.
  14. I’ve also seen guys like Davis and Oliver mentioned too. I can’t see either of them, but who knows what beane has up his sleeve. I can’t imagine Davis’s value is too high right now, so it might be smart to keep him. Oliver has underwhelmed as well and it will be interesting to see if he’s in their long term plans or they plan on letting him walk.
  15. Here is my argument for WR in 1. There likely will be someone there that is worth the value…if not, trade back to the top of 2 if another team wants to jump to get a player on the fifth year option. Where do a lot of the top WRs go? Either in the first or early second round. Guys like Tee Higgins, AJ Brown, Michael Thomas all went early 2. The point is…once our second round pick comes around, we might not have anyone to choose from. Early 2 seems to be the sweet spot for top offensive players that fell out of 1. I’d hate to wait till the 60-something pick to get the leftovers at such a key position for this team.
  16. I agree that there is more to a draft than the first round. However…waiting till the mid to late rounds to take a WR is what lands us players with limited skill sets such as Davis.
  17. Fine…use a 5th on defense. Happy?
  18. I think a lot has to do with personnel. Beasley was elite at working the middle of the field and getting open. It doesn’t seem Davis is good at running routes and McKenzie is limited. I believe Allen isn’t totally comfortable with anyone outside of Diggs and maybe knox.
  19. My thoughts exactly. McD is excellent at developing DBs. I don’t like the idea of taking on early. We did it last year, but please don’t do it again this year. Not with the holes/needs on the offensive side. Dalton Risner
  20. Honestly, I’m not sure how you can change anything. It was a terrible, unfortunate, freak accident. Hoping Damar is ok…that’s the focus right now.
  21. I honestly think Beane has the final say. We will learn a lot this draft.
  22. I do. But I also think McD is in his ear a lot.
  23. Here we go again with the Mahomes pick. No one thought he would be what he is today. Besides…I think the plan all along was to maneuver to get their guy in 2018.
  24. It’s very alarming that a guy that tests so well from an athletic standpoint gets beat so much.
