  1. I honestly can’t understand how anyone would think otherwise. How can anyone feel a MLB is going to be the difference between now and a super bowl? It’s an offensive league and we have one of the best qbs in the game. Why wouldn’t any fan want to maximize him in every way? Our line was horrrible last year and we basically only added one guy. Why not try to keep improving it? Also…Diggs and Allen are on the brink of being very vocal about their displeasure on the emphasis on offensive talent. Will a MLB move that threat? Nope. The selection of a playmaker or OL shows those guys good faith from the GM that he has their back.
  2. I honestly can’t wait until we don’t take Campbell. I’ve never been more annoyed in a pre draft season by fans hanging on to ONE GUY. It’s beyond atrocious that anyone would want to ignore getting an elite playmaker or protection for Allen yet again in favor of a slow MLB.
  3. The entire premise of your argument is that the bills care as much about “upgrading” MLB as much as you do. You really aren’t giving the idea that they feel there might be a replacement already on the roster any credence. We have no idea how they feel about what they have and we have no idea what type of scheme they will run this year. The idea of trading up for a MLB is beyond laughable to me. I don’t see it in any scenario. I’m fact, if they were so worried about that position, then I feel they would have paid David or Wagner, who returned on home team discounts.
  4. That’s a good point. It’s not coincidental that Allen’s best year so far was 2020 when the line was pretty darn good.
  5. Talking out of both sides of your mouth again I see. Yes, by drafting a WR, that would allow that guy a year to get acclimated to take over when Davis is gone. No middle LB is going to move the needle more than offensive weapons for Allen. This team only goes as far as Allen takes them. Jack campbell isn’t going to do that.
  6. It’s hilarious that you think in any way Beane would trade up in the first for a guy with a second round grade. This is 2023…the league is geared towards offense. This isn’t the old days when anyone gave a crap about who your middle LB was. In fact, I’d bet the bengals and chiefs are sitting there hoping we do something dumb like you are talking about so more offensive players fall to them.
  7. Exactly. I would say that the same group that believes Beane when he talks glowingly about Spencer brown are the same people that don’t believe a word he says when he says the edmunds replacement might already be on the team.
  8. We need to remember that Matt Milano was a fifth round pick so it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that a third and a seventh rounder can’t compete to be a starter. They drafted these guys as a contingency plan to losing edmunds, so it’s up to them to coach them up now.
  9. Honestly, picking a LB with their first pick this year could be career suicide for Beane and McD if the offense would crap the bed. If Allen and Diggs get pissed off about not having the help they need again, then there could be more damage done than good. Beane isn’t that dumb. He will get someone for Allen and the offense early.
  10. Well you basically just clarified why you want a LB. You’re old. Most of the older crowd still thinks defense wins championships when it’s clear that it’s a offensive league now. Mystery solved!
  11. You sound like someone who is bitter because your choice didn’t win the poll. It’s very childish. I just don’t know why anyone would want a LB that has a second round grade. We need weapons for Allen. Both he and Diggs were pissed at the end of the year and were very vocal about wanting more help. And before you throw back with the FA signings, please remember that they are cheap, one year deals and don’t provide any long term stability at the position.
  12. What if your fifth ranked WR is still higher ranked than your middle LB? I’m sorry….you aren’t gonna convince me that’s the way to go. We also need a WR as soon as next year as we will only have 2 that are under contract. One of them being Diggs entering his age 31 season. It’s an offensive league and we have one of the best qbs in the game. Gotta keep building around him and not an underachieving defense. Tell me…what on earth makes you think this? If the rumors of Beane wanting to move up are true, you can bet it’s not for a LB. Also…have we even had a visit with him yet?
  13. So it’s a reach to get the “fifth receiver” even if he has a first round grade? Safe doesn’t win you Super Bowls. Beane has already said edmunds successor might already be on the roster. He drafted a guy with a third round pick last year and now they need to see what they have. Enough with this defense early nonsense. Time to swing for the fences in support of Allen.
  14. I totally agree with this. Beane has been steadfast that they might have edmunds replacement in the building already. A lot of fans don’t want to believe it, but they have no reason to smokescreen that position. Any LB would be a reach at 27 and Beane isn’t about to do that imo. There was a real problem at the end of last year with Diggs and Allen both being unhappy about the supporting cast. Beane know this is an area he needs to upgrade to keep his stars happy. No LB is going to make as much a difference as an offensive skill player or protection. I sorta think this as well. I’ve seen some smoke on Johnston and the bills this past week and you’re right…he’s a traitsy Beane guy.
  15. Hearing this makes me think that they might actually be targeting an offensive player. I highly doubt they would move up for a defensive player this year. My guess is this could mean someone like JSN, skoronski, Johnston, or Robinson.
  16. Why’s that? We still haven’t seen what bernard can do with a full off-season and he was a third round pick like brown. We can still “hope” can’t we?
  17. I honestly think those that are so concerned over middle linebacker are either old timers or they have been weened into thinking the only solution to losing a player to free agency, retirement, or injury is to replace them with a first round pick. Im not concerned either. This is 2023. It’s a passing league. We have two players locked in at WR beyond this year and most people are talking about yet another defensive player. Bernard has potential and saw a small sample size last year. At some point, this regime is gonna have to trust their own process and quit trying to push that motto off on us. Give Bernard, Dotson, and spectar a chance and keep loading up on weapons and protection for Allen. I also get the feeling the chiefs and bengals are sitting below us hoping and praying we take a LB. That way more offensive talent falls to them. Nobody is scared if we take a LB. They don’t want us to get more weapons for our generational qb. That’s what will get us over the hump, not yet another top defensive draft pick.
  18. I’m not really sure how any of us can think a middle linebacker in the first round moves the needle for this team to get to the super bowl. We need weapons. Weapons that are signed beyond next season. It would totally suck if we took a defensive player that doesn’t scare anyone and teams like the chiefs or bengals sit there and take offensive players that abuse our shiny new defensive player for years to come. Rinse and repeat with some of you. Time to wake up and realize this is the new age nfl.
  19. Awesome. We take a LB and the chiefs and bengals get more offensive weapons that our spanking new MLB can’t stop.
  20. I voted for Darnell Wright. He is very athletic and powerful. Chris Trapasso has him as his number one OT. Brown would be a VERY good swing tackle, but I am really concerned if we just roll him out unchallenged with what we’ve seen so far. Wright or Harrison would make that a strength imo.
  21. Totally agree. It’s like we have been weened into thinking every time we lose a defensive player we have to replace him with a first round pick. Meanwhile, the offense had needs for an entire year and people are so quick to dismiss that now that edmunds moved on. Doesn’t make sense to me. If you want to add a LB in 2-4, then fine. But enough with all these first round defensive players.
  22. The fact that you wrote “please don’t ask where we would be without Allen” tells me you already know the answer. He’s doing all he can with a crap oline and lack of weapons outside of Diggs.
