  1. That’s funny because I’ve read a lot about how Dodson is making plays and looks to be in control. But you have an agenda, so…
  2. You talk about backups like they are a bad thing. Sometimes players are only backups until they are given a chance to prove themselves as starters and they never look back…
  3. I think gabe is gonna want to do what edmunds did. He will bet on himself and let the cards fall where they may at the end of the season. If that means we lose him, then so be it. It’s a smart move on his part.
  4. Nobody said anything about a big extension right now. I’ll bet Beane has approached him about a reasonable extension but it’s likely Davis is willing to bet on himself sort of like edmunds did.
  5. Good point. It’s a tough spot for Beane. He can try to lock him up before the games start or he can “wait and see” if his drops disappear. Either way it’s a huge gamble.
  6. Agree. I was really hard on him last year and want him to pan out. I’m just concerned about the translation from practice to actual games. The dude is a hard worker, but it doesn’t mean much if his drops continue when the lights are on.
  7. Honest question…if he wasn’t a jet would you care? There are lots of fringe hall of famers in the hall at this point.
  8. The thing that irritates me with Davis is how McD and Beane talk about how hard he works. I don’t doubt that. However, I hope it doesn’t fool them into rewarding him with a new contract based off of work ethic if it doesn’t translate on the field.
  9. Sounds like we might not have a MLB problem after all. Hmmmm…
  10. Early candidate for our first round pick imo. I can’t imagine a scenario where brown takes a strong hold on that RT job due to inconsistencies and injuries. It’s too important to just trot anyone out there.
  11. The d has been secondary to this offense for several seasons now. We only go as far as Allen takes us.
  12. Agree. It boggles my mind that people think we need a first rounder at every defensive position. Our coach is defensive minded and we have enough to be elite already. Poyer, Hyde, and Milano can more than make up for a slight downgrade at mlb. Not to mention we get Tre back. The jack campbell train before the draft was nauseating. Yeah…let’s do that and keep giving Josh left overs. Great idea guys!👍
  13. There were no bigger needs than offensive weapon and oline and Beane addressed both in the first two rounds. MLB was never a huge “need” for them and that showed during the draft. Just because some fans thought it was didn’t make it a reality. They never pulled the wool over anyones eyes when they kept saying they liked what they already had in house.
  14. My hope was for an offensive playmaker and we got possibly the best one in the draft. The bills have been trying to find a guy like this for several seasons and might have hit the jackpot. Love it.
  15. I honestly feel that is the least of anyones worries with Torrence. He should have no problem knocking anyone out plays and outleveraging them. He’s a high strength mauler that excels in those categories.
  16. You are literally arguing to argue. The staff obviously hasn’t seen enough at this point or we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.
  17. New Era basically said it in another post. We have no idea what is going on in the film room or practice field. I honestly think elams elite traits make up for lack of scheme knowledge. He’s obviously not where the staff wants him to be at this point or we wouldn’t be having these conversations.
  18. Well plenty of fans and media members are getting a little concerned about what might be going on, so I think it’s fair. Hopefully the light bulb goes on and we don’t have to talk about this in a few weeks.
  19. I’m not advocating for just putting him out there due to draft status. The best player should play. If it turns out that we hit on Benford and Elam is depth, is anyone gonna be overly upset? If Benford becomes a solid CB2 then I’ll be happy. As long as that happens with one of them at least.
  20. I’m pretty sure if Elam develops and becomes a starter, you won’t hear me complain about it. The fact is that he’s getting scraps for some reason and it doesn’t make sense. It’s fair to be critical sometimes when things like this pop up. We need to be hitting on our top picks and haven’t been doing a great job of it lately. However, it looks like we might have something in Kincaid and hopefully Torrence is the real deal. Looks like cook might be something too. We will see with Elam.
  21. It’s perfectly fine to question the fit. But I can see you haven’t changed calling people out. I’m sure you like every player, right?
  22. Then why did the bills move up to get Elam in a CB rich draft? If they knew his man coverage experience didn’t translate to our zone heavy looks, then what gives? I think they were smitten by his notebook and saw him as a student of the game and so far it hasn’t panned out. Elam has elite traits, and I think that’s what has shown up on game days to help mask his deficiencies. The bills seemed to have bet on Elam learning our scheme and it may have been a slight overlook.
  23. Elam is “clearly” better? I think Benford might have something to say about this competition before it’s said and done. He missed a lot of time last year and also some good development opportunities. At this point, it completely reasonable that benford might be better than Elam.
  24. Benford was hurt early. Elam had the benefit of development as the season wore on. There is no comparison since Benford didn’t get that opportunity.
