  1. Or the pope admitting that a lot of priest did in fact wanna get into the boys ?.
  2. Allen is a potential harbinger of doom for the folks super focused on analytics. By all of their measures and algorithms should not succeed... Yet... here he is winning games. All of the predator analytics guys are already eating crow because of Lamar Jackson, and if Allen takes this team on a deep playoff run their formulas are proved faulty. Admitting faulty science is difficult. Truth is none of these metrics can predict drive, will, leadership, etc. They won’t admit that there’s no statistical formula that could predict whether Blackledge would be better or worse than Kelly or Marino... or that Cousins would be better than RGIII. Sadly, these dudes are just going to defend their predictions. There’s nothing anyone can do about it except tune out. The only way it changes is if players start snubbing these guys retroactively and only do mandatory interviews a la Marshawn.
  3. Yes. The responsibilities are slightly different as are the abilities of RTs and LTs. Generally speaking LDEs are larger and stronger than RDEs, better against the run, and possibly better at dropping into zone coverage. That’s sort of prototyping though. Realistically, they have to be able to keep contain when doubled by a RT and TE, plus beat a RT 1 on 1 in the pass rush. A lot of guys switch back and forth though. Plus, there’s a whole range of talents and schemes which dictate what type of LDE and RDE a team is looking for.
  4. Im not sure it makes a difference in the daily preparation, but the continual reinforcement of the “Buffalo vs the world” theme doesn’t hurt. They certainly seem to keep track of the slights, and they’ve pointed them out on multiple occasions. I think the players have also figured out that these snubs, slights, and digs get the fan base riled up, and that’s contributing to a unique environment.... Only team in NY. I’m not sure it’s the playing angry part that matters, so much as finding a reason to go run sprints at 6am on a 5 degree February day.
  5. Literally the Danley Matterhorn. https://www.danleysoundlabs.com/the-matterhorn/
  6. 1/4 of the NFLPA grievances filed were against the Jags.... DAMN! lol
  7. Politely is the key. Cussing them out will probably bet the Jerry Hughes treatment.
  8. I’d imagine around $7-$8MM a year for Shaq unless he has a freak game and gets over 10 sacks. Phillips is harder to estimate because we’re looking at an anomalous year that’s top 5 in production. Phillips is likely getting a big offer or two from a desperate team.... but.... Phillips knows the difference between a good and bad organization.
  9. This article should be read before considering the OPs discussion topic... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/34057/bills-dogs-shaq-lawson-and-jordan-phillips-setting-tone-for-defense%3fplatform=amp
  10. I’m not sure McD needs to win the AFCE. Winning out and a Steelers collapse might do it, especially with a playoff win added on. Tying record with the GOAT coach and GOAT qb might be enough. We shall see though. McD has a ***** at COY, and if he doesn’t get it I’m sure he’ll be in the running again.... which is an unusual, but wonderful feeling for a bills fan.
  11. He predicted the snap count, and it’s difficult to tell at game speed. He certainly seemed to react faster than the center, which is why I think the flag got thrown. The key here is going to be the bills sending stills to the league and McD harping on the refs so they understand that our DTs just get off the ball that quickly.... Kyle used to do that a few times a year and the refs stopped penalizing it after it was expected. Same goes for other DTs that had great reaction times and first steps; Sapp, Randle, etc. If Phillips keeps timing these perfectly it will become a “known ability”.
  12. Phillips has the ability to hit 10 again. The questions are scheme and motivation. I really don’t question those factors with him on this roster unless Oliver takes all the snaps. IIRC there was one interview where he mentioned that Miami didn’t play him on third downs. I see Phillips as a 5-7 sack DT that will occasionally eclipse that total with talent around him. It’s important to note that we’re getting into the “resign our own” phase of the rebuild. I feel like they have to resign a few guys that have bought in to the process to maintain momentum and the family vibe. At the very least they need to offer competitive contracts to guys like Phillips; who not only bought in, but is vocal about telling anyone that will listen this team/locker room is special.
  13. Ford has been doing a pretty good job of forcing edge rushers to run the arc.
  14. I’m of the opinion that Foster can run the majority of the McKenzie gadget plays.
  15. I can see Beane making a move similar to the Edmunds trade with Baltimore to nab Epenesa. I’d be supportive. It would effectively finish off our front 7 and put us in a decent spot as Hughes ages. All of this is borderline futile without knowing where we’re drafting, who’s declaring for the draft, available FAs, and resigned and tagged players. It’s exciting though. Particularly because this team is close.... We don’t need to pray for home runs for success.
  16. Folks are gonna light torches when he trades up for Epenesa. ?
  17. I used Hambone intentionally because of that. Any WR that’s 6’5” and running a 4.3-4.4 is going too 10 unless they have serious red flags. I could have used his Carolina replacements, James Hardy, etc. I agree with the physical aspect. Our small receivers don’t “play big” a la Brown, OBJ, Steve Smith Sr, etc. Of course, neither did Benjamin. Where we’re drafting there will be some knocks on a prospect. Raw, disappears for stretches, shorter, slower, injury history, DII... something. My point was I hope they don’t rule out a 5’11” guy if he’s aggressive and has a big vertical. Those guys often end up being playmakers. A good example from the last draft is Deebo Samuel. Body control, hops, and a willingness to lay out for the ball can make a huge difference.
  18. People focus on size a little too much. I’ll take a 6’0” guy with a 40” vertical and 4.4 over a K Benjamin all day.... Folks tend to forget that A Brown and OBJ are both under 6’. ?‍♂️. Size is just one way to get separation and isn’t important unless the guy plays big too. Now with that in mind, I’m against drafting a 5’8” smurf unless they have blazing speed.
  19. The same NFL Network that has shown programming other than the games people paid to watch.... It has happened several times. Most recently.... https://www.google.com/amp/amp.awfulannouncing.com/league-networks/spectrum-subscribers-get-alternate-programming-on-nfl-network-instead-of-buccaneers-panthers-tnf-game.html
  20. Soooo..... Let me get this straight..... You can pay for Sunday Ticket, not get the game, and then thank yourself for paying for the service you have to pirate anyways????? Kind of like the NFL Network broadcasting “top 10 hail mary’s” instead of Thursday night football this year????? I have no sympathy for the NFL or broadcasting services. Eventually they’re gonna run out of cows and try to milk a bull. ?‍♂️
  21. Which is why I have no issues with VPN’s and stolen streams. If it’s considered a “home market” the NFL needs to drop its BS and make the game publicly available or at least provide a multi platform PPV option.
  22. Which is BS considering it’s not a public broadcast for what used to be the blackout area.
