My money is on Dorsey replacing Kitchens with Mike McCarthy it someone from KC. He’s likely going to go with an offensive minded HC he knows and feels can command respect from those personalities. It’s not, but with Allen’s improvements and Beane’s willingness to upgrade the offense top candidates will interview and listen to offers.

MMQB: Are The Bills For Real?
Buffalo Junction replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s why I used “some” instead of “all”. ?♂️. They’ll have to drub one or two of these teams in one way or another to get full credit in the media.... Something like beat the Ravens by holding them under 17 and/or light up the Pats D like Houston just did. Regardless, if they win out they won’t be ignored, especially if that comes with a division win. -
MMQB: Are The Bills For Real?

If we pull off a narrow win against the Ravens they aren’t gonna sleep on this team. If we follow that up with narrow wins against the Pats and Steelers some of those guys are gonna start saying this team can get to the SB. -
13 rushing attempts for -1 yards and 3 receptions for 4 yards..... Those are Barry Sanders stats in a playoff game. Every player can be stopped. The issue is what you give up to stop that player. To stop Lamar Jackson completely you have to give up the inside run which almost guarantees a loss with Ingram (it’s why they signed him) going wild. Now, maybe the weather helps like that referenced Sanders game. IDK. Eventually the physicality of the NFL will change Jackson’s game just like it did to Chris Johnson and RGIII. Perhaps the NFL will pull back some of the QB run protections (highly unlikely). No matter, Jackson will have to evolve just like Josh, R Wilson, Favre, etc to have continued success. As for how this team stops L Jackson.... Short of Jackson, Yanda, Ingram, or Andrews getting injured early we don’t stop him. However, if this team plays disciplined football and the offense is effective we can limit Jackson and likely force some turnovers. Honestly, if Allen puts up better numbers than Jackson we probably win this game barring TOs, penalties, etc.

For sure. It’d be different if Foster had secured the spot opposite Brown, but he’s failed to do so. He has ST value, so I’m fine with keeping him while cheap. We need a better #2 and #3 though if we’re going with a pass first attack. McKenzie can be effective on designed plays, but he’s not quite fast enough or big enough to be a threat without dramatically improving his route running. I’m not including Duke because he hasn’t worked himself back into the active roster for one reason or another.

It depends on how this offense evolves. If they add a guy like Shenault then McKenzie is completely expendable as is the extra RB. Out of McK and Foster I’d keep Foster as well. Not only can he be electric, but he has value on special teams as a gunner. If this offense goes more TE centric than I can see keeping 4 TEs, but there are currently 5 TEs and a FB on the payroll. I think one can be dropped for more speed on the field since Allen seems to prefer intermediate passes. We will see how it pans out, but if they continue going with 11 personnel instead of 12 personnel they might drop a TE next season.

My concern with pulling Lorax is that we have three defensive starters that practiced against Roman’s schemes with Tyrod... Lorax is one along with Lawson and Hughes. There is value in having those players on the field together since they’re less likely to hesitate. That could make a massive difference in this game. Now, it’s also entirely possible that Jackson jukes them out of their socks, but that’s not entirely preventable with a safety in there either

He made an offer for Mack, so he’ll pay for edge players as well if the talent/production is there. I doubt he pays big money for a WR though unless it’s high end homegrown talent. I could see him paying a high number for a 1-2 year contract though as there’s flexibility with Allen on a rookie contract.

IMO a few people are confusing where Jackson is developmentally with how he’s performing in Romans scheme with the Ravens current personnel. The scheme and his running ability force defenders to abandon coverage responsibilities... Today’s game aside, Jackson’s rushing yards per attempt (7.1) is in line with Allen’s last year (7.1) and he has few TD runs than JA. However, he has certainly completed more passes. IMO you can’t just use total averages or the past few games with these running QBs. You have to look at total output, red zone efficiency and 3rd down conversion %. In general these kids are going to be a bit inconsistent their first 3-5 seasons.... What would worry me long term (aside from injury) is his continued success as personnel changes... Can he continue to improve, and can Roman adapt his scheme and playcalling? To this point the league has caught up with every incarnation of Romans offense after 2-3 years. So we sit here debating whether this Ravens offense is stoppable... Of course it is. Just like the Rams or Chiefs offense. However, that doesn’t mean that there are many teams (or any) with the personnel to snuff it out. The way that O is configured defenses basically have to decide where to allow the Ravens to run; inside with Ingram or outside with Jackson. The jet sweeps are window dressing that’ll be contained if you’re playing to control the edges. Ingram reduces the effectiveness of the big nickel SD employed last season, so any team that snuffs them is going to need LBers with the athleticism to contain Jackson as opposed to spying with an extra safety coupled with D linemen strong enough to hold ground and make plays unless doubled... You almost need a Pat Williams/Sam Adams pairing coupled with modern fast LBers and ends that contain. IDK if that’ll work, but those type of D’s worked pretty well against Vick. Of course you could hit QBs and light up receivers back then which helped the D.

How good are Tannenhill and the Titans ?
Buffalo Junction replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. He’s a FA. He’ll get a sizable contract, but I highly doubt it’ll be top 5 for RBs since they don’t use him on passing downs. -
Gotta defend their offense like the option... Makes me think of Dom Capers cracking out a 4-4 over and 3-5 with two NTs.

I kind of want Henry to replace Gore next season. The idea of relentlessly hammering teams with him and Singletary makes me something something. -
This Sunday's AFC games may HELP the Bills!

I think our best matchup would be the Titans. Yes, it’s a revenge game, but Tammyhill probably still has nightmares about Bills defenses. -

I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the resurgence of this rivalry. Gruden and Reid basically started on the same coaching staff... should be fun to watch over the next few years. -
Bored - Offseason Speculation
Buffalo Junction replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Phillips finishes the season with more than 8 sacks he’s likely going to get an offer over $10MM a year. I think we can probably resign him on the low end of a competitive offer, but I certainly wouldn’t rule out Phillips walking if he gets a ridiculous offer.... My hope is that we benefit from him seeing how bad some teams can be (thanks again Gase!).
