  1. Refs were inconsistent, but reasonably fair. The weekends real referee screw job happened to Washington.
  2. I’d say Jones, Rousseau, or Milano, but the rest leave a lot of room for improvement. Particularly since Jones and Rousseau aren’t exactly game wreckers, and we need one of those at each level to really reap defensive success.
  3. Miami seemed to Buck some tendencies early in the game which put Poyer off. Hamlin just flat out isn’t Hyde and we’re a bit spoiled by prior expectations…. Still, Hamlin has to play better down the stretch. He got caught on angles against Miami in the first matchup too. They exploited that again. I honestly think a lot of the trench play may be due to cleat choices. Mainly because those problems seemed to disappear once the snow started falling. It was odd. Snow hits and Groot starts making plays. Not the be all end all, but it makes me a bit curious.
  4. Agree with most of this. I do wonder about the footing, especially with the first few drives. It seemed like the second and third level defenders played tentative when tackling; choosing to breakdown instead of tackle through ball carriers which allowed Mostert to run through arm tackles. They changed up in the second half and started hitting him low which was more effective. I even commented to a buddy during the game “Damn, it’s like he’s got Vaseline on his jersey.” During the first quarter. One thing worth considering is that they played pass first through the first half, and had the offense been able to double dip they may not have been forced out of that. Being able to stay in nickel and run 2-deep, quarters, etc without worrying about the run would have been nice. At the end of the day this team was missing two all-pros and a Phin assassin (Phillips) and came out with the win. IDK how the win happens as long as they don’t lose anyone else.
  5. Those teams basically adapted Frazier’s week 3 gameplan to their personnel. The big differences for the 49ers was they had Bosa while Von was out for us, and they tackled well. The fish also changed up a bit and attacked the perimeter more this game. Unfortunately our guys lost a lot of one on ones and missed out on a few turnover opportunities. I am kind of curious if they made a poor equipment choice with regards to cleats for the first half as the line play of O & D improved once the snow started falling.
  6. 49ers, Dallas, and the Vikings could all potentially beat them, especially with an injury to a key player. Eagles have been extremely lucky on the injury front.
  7. Air conditions actively affect sound waves. Colder air makes sound travel further but slower (resting state of atoms). Sound waves actually bend away from heat and back towards the ground -field- which benefits the home team. Humidity by contrast makes sound travel faster due to increased density from microscopic water droplets. WNY weather has an interesting combination where the cold lengthens the wave -distance- of sound while the lake effect humidity can speed up the travel while the heat dissipation from fans makes sound waves amplify around the field itself. Seattle benefits from that combination as well due to the North Pacific weather.
  8. Agree, but I’d go with “understandable” instead of “mind boggling”. They haven’t spent the draft capital on offense to get difference makers or a dominant Oline. The guys they have spent high picks on are the guys keeping the offense going; Allen & Diggs. Cook and Knox have also made some big plays, but both are hampered by the poor line play.
  9. They certainly seem to be replicating the McBeane formula in Jersey.
  10. Heavily agree with the bolded. The majority of the dominant contested catch WRs are traits guys drafted in the first round (Hopkins, Chase, Evans, Jefferson, OBJ). Many of those that aren’t 1st rounders dropped due to character/injury concerns (Metcalf neck) or going to a smaller school (Davante Adams Fresno St).
  11. To be fair the only non garbage time TDs the Pat’s have scored the past few weeks have been by their return man.
  12. Chill out man. And interfering with talent? Really? That ***** happens frequently, especially if you work onstage.
  13. If you gave Allen or Mahomes both Hill and Waddle then every defense would have to use dime defenses or pray to the wind god just to try and keep the point total under 45 points.
  14. He’s also got a great inside rip, a push pull, a dip, and a solid swim. Still, it’s gonna take the kid another year to really come into his own as a rusher. Biggest issue is that Groot doesn’t have exceptional bend, because that coupled with his dip or rip could be deadly. Hopefully he improves there over the next year.
  15. It’s deal for the next year or two, but by coming back this year the cap hit and structure might be more flexible. It also puts winning teams in contention for his services without having to brush off the others egregiously before March.
  16. It’s up there with the Walker and Williams trades. We’ll see what happens if they swap out Hackett going forward, but it’s just bad. Seahawks are clearly laughing to the podium in April.
  17. He tends to draft high floor guys at many positions which limits prospective top talent. Couple that with whiffing on WRs at an exceptional clip and you have a recipe for ineffective offenses and few difference makers across the board.
  18. Yup. The issue for them is that Belichick the coach is cuckolded by Belichick the GM.
  19. I had this thought and would like to agree with it. However, it’s also the first year where he’s had reliable and deep talent in front of him with Oliver, Jones, Settle, and Phillips. Not to mention Von Miller balling out with Groot improving. Star wasn’t doing Edmunds any favors these past few years, and were seeing that now. I think we’ve also seen the difference he makes with regards to other players pass defense. Edmunds shrinks zones, and he’s gonna get paid.
  20. Rather have a 20-30mph wind that Allen can cut through, but makes Tua’s arm strength an issue. Maybe just brutal cold like that Pats game last year so they can freeze on the sideline.
  21. I’d say so. They certainly could have procured more physically talented players that’d be more beneficial in future years, but opted for Klien and Marlowe who know the team and already have fill in rolls on defense and special teams. When you look at Hines adjustment/acclimation period it seems pretty clear that McBeane opted for weathering the injury storm instead of upgrading next season.
  22. One intentional grounding away from from having a safety in back to back weeks (ball spot depending).
