  1. The only name that matters is Allen. Let’s hope he progresses.
  2. I don’t get the comparison either outside of “undersized DT” McD saw early in his career. If I was forced to make a direct comparison I’d say Mike Daniels with elite burst and quickness.... Daniels measured 6’ and 290 lbs coming out. Both guys have insane motors and are deceptively strong. Thing is, it took Daniels a year to really figure out slipping double teams and improve his pass rush. I expect Oliver to be somewhere between Daniels and Donald after a season or two. Who knows though.... at this point the kid could turn into the next Bunkley or John Randle. ?‍♂️. It’s too early to speculate.
  3. No one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition
  4. That nickname is a little.... unexpected.
  5. Flacco is a considerable upgrade. I think the Broncos still might be screwed because they play the NFC North. We’ll see how it turns out though since the NFCN winner can easily be decided by player availability: Rodgers, Cook & Griffen, etc. Should be fun to watch, and I expect a few shootouts coupled with unexpected defensive battles.
  6. I think his history plays a big part in not fighting for “highest paid” status and taking a good deal with excellent guaranteed money. Jones stopped his slide, and the kid knows how quickly all this could end.
  7. The ravens game should be interesting since a fair number of our defensive players are familiar with their offensive scheme.
  8. “Kiko only pawn in game of foosball.”

  10. Probably has more to do with the cap percentage tied up in these QBs. No team can really afford an injury to their starting QB. It’s even more important for teams with $30MM starters.
  11. Play them all on offense. They don’t need to play every snap in the first half though. In fact I’d like to see some WR and RB substitutions and rotations on the first team... Can McCoy and Gore feed off each other? Can McKenzie sub in for Beasley? That type of thing. I’m looking forward to this final dress rehearsal. The offense as a whole, and O line in particular, probably need it.
  12. Ahman Green, Ryan Grant, James Starks, and Eddie Lacy. Then no one of note until Aaron Jones flashed. They did however have John Kuhn at FB, and a cubic F’-ton of pro bowl offensive lineman. Truth be told, if Thompson had just made the Lynch trade instead of cheaping out on compensation they probably would have won 2-3 SB’s instead on 1.
  13. My take away is that this teams o line and depth looks a lot better than last year.
  14. I’m okay with letting them sign another teams offer. I’m thinking more along the lines of giving QBs 4 seasons of eligibility instead of three since it’s the most difficult position to master.
  15. Might not be a bad idea for the NFL to extend PS eligibility for QBs.
  16. I’m just happy the kid stood his ground in the run game, even when double teamed.
  17. I’m not worried about Hauschka. At least not at this point. Rotating holders isn’t doing him any favors since it screws with his timing. Punter though..... ?‍♂️
  18. Crossing routes, slants, posts, etc are often thrown without leading the receiver. Digs are commonly thrown low. The point is to deliver the ball in a manner which allows the receiver to slow down and protect himself. It’s par for the course when there’s a lurking safety or LB. If those balls are thrown out in front or high receivers tend to get lit up.
  19. And cut the 8ball with a Babe Ruth rookie card.
  20. November, 1994. Bills - Packers. Bills won couldn’t tell you the score. What really sticks out in my mind... Some drunk fins fan started going off, talking smack, etc. He stood up on his seat yelling, and then, like mana from the sky, a full beer can came flying down from the seats above, KO’d him, and he tumbled from his “pulpit”. Security then dragged him out with no questions about the KO. ?
  21. Might work, but they’d have to compromise by increasing RFA contract amounts and performance escalators for late round picks that really play well.
  22. I compare Gore to Curtis Martin. While Martin did attain All-Pro, he wasn’t a wow guy. Just kept cranking out 1,000 yards on a forever basis. Regardless of my opinion on whether or not he belongs in the HoF, Gore will probably get into the HoF. Maybe not first ballot, but after the memories fade a bit and folks go back to stats... While Gore was never 1st team AP, he did make the 2nd team and was a 5x pro bowler earlier in his career. That coupled with his career stats means he’ll likely get a bust and a jacket. Also, I agree 100% on Stafford. I think he’ll be foiled because he’s viewed as a losing QB though. W’s and L’s carry extra weight there.
  23. I’ll worry if they don’t get the O-line sorted by the third preseason game. I expect a bunch of subs and juggling until then while the coaching staff figures out who plays better together. At this point Dawkins and Spain appear to be stable on the left side... I’ll take that for the first week of camp.
  24. My line of thinking as well. However, I won’t rule out a late career resurgence like Gannon if he sticks around a while.
  25. Nah, he’s just upset he didn’t get a Ferrari like Tom Magnum.
