Five others — Seniors category Finalists Maxie Baughan, Sterling Sharpe and Jim Tyrer; along with Coach Finalist Mike Holmgren and Contributor Finalist Ralph Hay — also are candidates for the Class of 2025. Voting on these five is done separately as its own group distinct from the Modern-Era Players; a minimum of one person and a maximum of three from these combined categories may be elected under the Hall’s bylaws. While there is no set number for any class of Enshrinees, the Hall of Fame’s current selection process bylaws stipulate that between four and eight new members will be selected. [...] The slate of candidates in the Modern-Era Player category will be considered when the Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee meets prior to Super Bowl LIX. The Class of 2025 will be unveiled publicly Feb. 6 during the “NFL Honors presented by Invisalign” broadcast from Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, La., on FOX and NFL Network and streamed on NFL+. The show airs at 9 p.m. ET."

Old guy references in play by play (Renaldo Nehemiah?? Really?)
chongli replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am younger than 60 and knew of him and remember the Olympic boycott (and the USSR of course had to retaliate in 1984 when the summer Olympics were in Los Angeles). I think you underestimate younger people. It is also good younger viewers learn history like this. -

Greg Gumbel RIP- Sorry had Bryant's name on this first.

You know who the NFL is rooting for so they have a good Game 272.

It is also crazy Buffalo will finish 14-3 most likely and not get the top seed. Since Allen, these were the number one seeds in the AFC: 2023 BAL 13-4 2022 KC 14-3 2021 TEN 12-5 (tied with KC 12-5) 2020 KC 14-2 2019 BAL 14-2 2018 KC 12-4

That's what she said. In 1999 (the year of the Music City Miracle), Tennessee finished 13-3 but was second in the division to Jacksonville, who was 14-2: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/1999/index.htm

I doubt KC rests its starters two weeks in a row.

Damar Hamlin's HEARTS Act, signed into law
chongli replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most people don't know how to use an AED. It looks simple, but it's not. I once read the instructions and was freaked out by the complexity. Without that knowledge, the AED's are pretty much useless. You also need to practice CPR every year for it to be really useful, like there are special procedures for use on infants. I learned in my freshman year of high school (back when you had to use mouth-to-mouth), then never had any refreshers. Probably easier now since there is no m2m. -
Full tweet text: "The Miami Dolphins are waiving former Pro-Bowl edge rusher Shaq Barrett from the Reserve Retired list today. Barrett can play again this season if he clears waivers Friday. If another team claims him, then Barrett would be ineligible to play the rest of this season. “We appreciate the Dolphins giving Shaq this opportunity to continue his career in the NFL,” said Barrett’s agent Drew Rosenhaus. “Hopefully he will pass through waivers and become a free agent so he can play again this season. He is in great shape and would be ready to play immediately.”

Thank you for using the correct version of "fiancé/fiancée" (with an accent too) and for getting the apostrophe right. Too many people today don't. 🤓

It's just a matter of time before Worthy misses time with his slight build, unfortunately.

It also the same whenever any prominent player is cut. Someone has to start a thread saying "we should sign him". Or on after any stand-alone game, be it TNF, MNF, Saturday, etc. when any player has a good game, reactions are "we should target this guy he becomes a free agent or trade for him". Kind of maddening. There is a big recency bias. (Likewise: the Bills were going to win the SB a few weeks ago, but now we will lose in the divisional round to Baltimore.) Whatever.

Beyonce singing songs live for the first time ever from the smash-hit album Cowboy Carter at halftime: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/beyonce-nfl-on-netflix-christmas-day-halftime-show-song-list-prediction-everything-we-know-about-performance/ "The 99-time Grammy nominated artist, who is from Houston, will perform songs from her album Cowboy Carter for the first time live on Wednesday. Beyonce and her team are keeping the details of the day a secret, but we do know that some artists from her latest album are expected to make an appearance. Cowboy Carter broke records when it dropped, including the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 and the biggest debut ever for a country album by a Black woman on Spotify. It's her first country album, going back to her roots, while celebrating many of the country artists before her, specifically black women in country." -

The 1988 Bills started 11-1, but then lost three of four to finish 12-4 and blow the number one seed to the Bengals. But, that being said, I tend to agree with you. -
