I’m slightly curious what the numbers look like in the playoffs. I FEEL like the absolute number of calls decline. this could be because the teams learn throughout the season what they can get away with OR the nfl simply adopts a more let them play stance in the playoffs; or a combination of both. I still feel like a team playing man the whole year gains an advantage during the playoffs where man coverage gives the defense more options. the chiefs have thrived (especially in the playoffs) regardless of their rank in dpi and dh since spags.

Constantly dinged up and never creates turnovers. solid, but as you say overrated. we need 2-3 IMPACT players on defense. If Rasul isn’t impact I don’t know what is.

I hope the bills switch to man coverage. Zone defense isn’t as effective as man in the playoffs where they don’t call penalties. A team that’s been playing man gains a huge advantage. McDermott’s defense collapses in the playoffs rather than gets better probably because they run zone all year.

I wonder if this was a case of beane self congratulating for drafting a project player. I.e., “hey look I drafted a top 5 TE in the third round. he has to be top 5, look at his salary.”

You are correct, the bills’ defense does fall apart in the playoffs.

Bills should get rid of every defensive player over 25 and every offensive player over 27 this offseason.

I watched until the niners punted after intercepting mahomes to start the second half. The game was over for them at that point imo. every team the chiefs played in the playoffs completely or partially folded against them. I guess that’s another way of saying they have superior coaching 🤷‍♂️.

My biggest issue with McDermott is he hasn’t got it done.

The only good part about the scenario of McDermott drafting mahomes and it not working out is that McDermott is no longer here.

They completely blew it this game. Their 3rd down offense was awful. they kept getting behind the sticks with odd play selection at the juncture where they should’ve been taking complete control of the game (start of second half). They tried to make Brock Purdy the hero of the game and he wasn’t. It reminded me of Seattle vs the patriots where they kept trying to make Russel Wilson the hero. San Francisco could’ve called running plays 20 more times than they did.

The chiefs scored 17 points and beat the 1 seed, on the road. they held the 2 seed to 7 points in the second half, zero in the fourth quarter, on the road.

I’m not happy but at least I didn’t watch the last hour and a half.

The ravens scored 10 points….

And didn’t get a good version of any of those teams. I’d say the bills and niners had solid B games (as whole team grades). I guess that’s what happens when you have the best coaching.
