  1. I'm totally irrational and I like and trust him too. Just sayin'....
  2. Bills had a lot of jobs to fill when Zo retired. Klein also played ST in New Orleans. Both Klein and Tyler are upgrades to the LB room and will improve ST. Got both at a reasonable cost. Beane keeps doing good work.
  3. I'm thinking Bridgewater or Dalton. Bellicheat would probably strangle Winston long before throwing his typical 25+ interceptions. Who knows at this point, your bold prediction could be spot on.
  4. Don't underestimate your ability to understand cap management. Your question is one that Jerry Jones should have been asking before agreeing to this deal. This sure makes the Diggs contract inherited by the Bills look pretty good. Cooper isn't worth $8m per year more than Diggs and this will force Dallas to release some good talent in the future.
  5. Four years at a little over $11m per year for a player like Diggs is great cap value. We already know what he can do in the league and we don't have to wait for a rookie to develop. He fits the need at WR perfectly. Some will complain about the cost of the trade but I believe that Diggs is better than any receiver we could draft at 22. Beane never ceases to amaze me with his ability to make the right moves to keep improving the team without busting the cap. I'm hoping that he has an equally impressive result in his efforts to add some pass rush talent.
  6. The Chargers probably looking QB at pick 6. Tyrod may get to start the first few games before handing the job over to the rookie. Things have also been quiet on Bridgewater. He could also become a factor in LA.
  7. $30M for Flowers is a joke. A year ago he had one foot out of the league. He was moved inside and didn't totally bust but he was not a $10M per year performer. Let the fins keep p***ing away their cap. Byron Jones is a very good corner but $17M per year was probably an over pay because the fins got into a bidding war for him. Desperation makes a bad front office do bad things. As a long time Bills fan, I know what that looks like and Miami looks like that now.
  8. Exactly, a team over spends for some FA and the "chicken little wanna be's" enter into their sky is falling chorus. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
  9. Yeah...but educated spitballing. None of these are completely crazy
  10. You could be right. This is a cap clearing move. Freeman is a Florida guy. He could end up in Miami or TB and would be an immediate upgrade to their running game.
  11. I'm with you. He is their best offensive weapon, is a great guy, and is not a problem for them in any way. Their QB is hitting his prime years and keeping play makers around him should be a high priority. Sometimes threads like this one or similar crazy stories from sports writers seem like a waste of everyone's time and energy.
  12. I think both of your predictions make a lot of sense. I also believe that both would provide a significant upgrade over the players that they are replacing. They also bring talent in the area that McD values. He wants a strong and deep D-line and he wants to have a power running game to protect leads at the end of games. There was a time when I thought that Carlos Hyde could be a target for Beane but when he refused a significant offer from Houston I realized that he had just priced himself out of consideration from Beane. He was just tagged today but he would have been a great addition.
  13. Knowing a person who worked for the team at the time, I was told that Lamonica had a medical issue that made longevity in the league something less than a sure thing. I don't know if that is true or not but it makes more sense than unloading your talented QB of the future because he shagged someones wife. There were multiple rumors about affairs and who knows if any of them were true.
  14. Based on who has been openly opposed to the proposed contract, I'd say you have drawn the correct conclusion. The big money guys don't benefit as much on a percentage basis as the low end roster guys. For example, a playoff game check for a big money guy is almost irrelevant. Yet for a guy making the league minimum, it's a good bump in annual income. Thus a couple of extra playoff teams get more players some meaningful additional income.
  15. I agree. With Murphy being Murphy and Lawson headed to the free agent market, I believe a DE will be on Beane's wish list. One of the top four DE's should be available at 22 and be a decent value there. I also wouldn't be surprised, if they bring in one of the second tier free agents as well. A really good WR will be available in round two with or without a move up. As others have pointed out, RB is probably down their list of priorities unless a really great prospect falls really far in the draft.
  16. Not bad options. Hyde just rejected a contract offer from Houston and may be looking for more than Beane will be willing to pay. Both of these guys are more than capable.
  17. I agree with you on this. Frazier was extremely well liked by his players in Minnesota. If the Bills are interested in either Linval or Rhodes and the money is close, Frazier could be the factor to get them to come to Buffalo.
  18. If teams really want to conduct physical exams, they can always move either the players or the doctors around on private jets. This isn't as difficult as some people may think. I have always thought the private workouts were a little over the top. Between game tape, the combine, and college pro-days; teams should have enough input to make a decision.
  19. Roger will miss out on all the boos he gets on stage. I guess he'll just have to suck it up and soldier on!......lol
  20. Very astute and literary. To think not would be a "Dream Within A Dream".
  21. I agree with you. I didn't see anything about how much, if any, of the money is guaranteed. The smaller that number, the less risk is involved and the better this whole signing is.
  22. I'll give Beane the benefit of the doubt on this. He may have just gotten involved to drive the price up for other teams. If we knew he was a douce, don't you think Beane knew that as well?
  23. He really benefited from Gordon's holdout. It was nice to see an UDFA get a chance, do well, and get paid. It just verifies that you don't need to get your best players at the top of the draft. Good scouting and looking beyond the power programs is important to build a complete high quality roster.
  24. How about the one I really dislike: SHUTDOWN CORNER!
