  1. when the D is in zone, of course. Beasley is more important if teams go cover 2 zone a lot, which they are now doing. If they play man, the diggs / davis crossers and josh running become more important... all depends on what the D is doing.
  2. Looked like that to me as well. Two different halves completely.
  3. Stop now please. You overestimate this roster. But they problem solved at halftime, switched to the run and added pitch and pass and started bringing 5 and 6 on D and crunched them in the 2nd half. No NFL team is trash. Anyone can beat anyone every week. W/L records tell only a piece of the story. Bills should have lost to the Rams, everyone with a brain knows that. If not for Josh Normans strip, they could have very easily lost the Raiders game. What about the Phins game, who was trash in that game prior to Davis' miracle catch? Jets got a bunch of talented guys back for this game and they made a difference. Don't underestimate any opponent from week to week. Every week stands on its own and records don't mean much any given week. As BB says, you are what your record says you are. Bills are 5-2. Works for me.

  5. yep they are totally zoning him now to take away both 1) his scrambles and 2) all the crossing routes. the Raiders were so dumb to play man and they shredded them with the crossing routes -- that is all gone now. He is adapting. RPO and zone read IS a fundamental part of the Bills (and Ravens) offense. Is what it is. I like it. Josh is a part of the Bills run game . they tried to get LeVeon Bell, didn't work. Beane is trying.
  6. ran for 100, threw for 300, works for me. I'd take that just about every game. The Davis and Kroft throws were money. The pitchouts to WRs to open the run game was money from the coaches. Josh was sharp today.
  7. No. 20+ sacks/knockdowns/hurries. Knocked them out in the 2nd half. Frazier is fine. Move on.
  8. 400+ yards offense today. Please stop. Daboll is fine. Geez. Gotta throw and defend the pass to win the SB in this league now. Run and stop the run like its 1973 looks nice and makes you feel like a man, until you play the top 5 teams , then you get steamrollered by big time, efficient passing games led by great passers and encouraged by today's rules. Again, 400+ yards offense , none in garbage time. Nuf said. Move on.
  9. Agreed. Bills fans don't watch enough SEC football. Tua is a stud. Potential to be left handed R Wilson. Watch out.
  10. Roster pretty banged up this season. Not sure how the next 2-3 games are going to go. Thin roster being put out there. Injuries matter. 2nd/3rd stringers not nearly as good as the starters. "Next man up" is garbage.
  11. patience my friend. build a solid program, and the winning will take care of itself. McBeanes are killing it. Just lost to a couple top 5 - top10 teams, not worried about it. Bills are pretty banged up this season. Its a long season. Beat Jets and Pats , and all you fair weather fans are all happy again.
  12. With all the injuries, this game Sunday is not a given. Pretty thin roster being rolled out Sunday.
  13. Bills are pretty heavily injured team. Watch out for the Jets, who are getting healthy. Could be headed to upset town. Watch out. Injuries matter.
  14. the only guy on that team I would pay up for. I'd give a #1 (plus Star) for him tomorrow
  15. yep. Oliver playing the Jeff Wright role. undersized for what he is asked to do and getting blown up most of the time by double teams. He must be saying to himself, "this is the sh-t I had to do in college... and these guys are way bigger and better... WTF?" Missing Star L very much he is. Beane drafted him to move him to 3 tech. Not happening until next year it seems....
  16. thats because he pretty much IS a 19 year old. He will improve as he plays more. My guess is the shoulder is much worse than we know and he cannot punch. but they need him in coverage and to call the defense, so.. there it is.. Tyrol Dodson is the alternative. yikes.
  17. I trust the process. It is ongoing. It is a 16 game season. It's a good roster. They'll be fine. They stayed with the Chiefs (until almost grabbing the game at the end on the near-turnover) using one of the most unorthodox (and, quite frankly, fairly imaginative) defensive game plans I've ever seen (no more than 6 in the box every play, eliminate an electrifying passing game and force them into a run-only offense and create turnovers). Horrible for the average Bills fan to watch (who expects the D to align to down and distance every down) but had the offense had played up to par (they did not) and they could have gotten a lead, KC would have had to throw the ball a bit into 7 man coverage as time ran down. It almost worked, but for whatever reason, Josh and offense weren't very effective all night-- that was the problem. The defense actually did their job reasonably well (other than not turning over KC's running backs a couple times, which I am sure they were told to do) , given the game plan. The offense stunk. I think it was a pretty good defensive game plan compromise against a passing offense that otherwise would have in all likelihood lit them up. Trust it.
  18. hmm .. .. i like it. A lot like Favre when he started out. Yes. Favre was so raw. Yes. but Favre got crazy accurate over time. Josh is getting there. When you can do what Josh can do physically, you really want to stick with this and see where it goes. He wants to get better so badly. the coaches will straighten him out. My bigger concern is that not many plays called have been very effective the past couple weeks. Looked to me like Josh had nowhere to go with the ball most passing plays. is that on him? don't think so... has the league figured out what Daboll is doing? Josh/Daboll has definately hit a flat spot. Need Feliciano and Spain back.
  19. you will be eating crow. Tua is the real deal. They are setting up for next season. Their team is pretty good and the kid won't get beat up bc you can't catch him. His accuracy is unbelievable. He will be better than Josh for sure, and I think Josh is really good.
  20. Completely agree. All the Star haters probably wish he was back taking up two guys every play like he was last year. Might be 10-15 guys like that in the league. Plus Shaq got so much bigger and stronger against the run and he's gone/. It's a lighter faster defense now, but it will be tough against the better coaches and QBs.
  21. Cowboys had their window a 2-3 years ago when they were loaded and blew it. Now they will suffer for a couple seasons, but be on national TV like 18 times.
  22. With the Covid risk of losing players, I think rosters are going to be pretty much what they are at this point; moreso than any other season. If I was a GM, I would be hanging onto to the players I know who are testing negative consistently. Getting through the season is very important and will be more important as the weather changes and risk of positive tests go up. Bills are having the injury issues they did not have last year. And they are playing a schedule with a lot more good/great QBs, so this will be as rough as many predicted. No 12-4 this year. going 6-4 and winning 10 this year will be a major accomplishment. Frankly, I think 9-7 wins the Division, given the tough schedule for the AFC East. Hell, we haven't even played Seattle (loss), SanFran (?) , Arizona (no way this D contains Murray) ... the path to the Division leads straight through the Pats. Need to win both of those.
  23. He never should have been in that conversation in the first place after 4 games. who put him there? the media. And many on this board fell for it. They're just creating content for football shows. Just go beat the Jets on Sunday. Chiefs and Titans are loaded and the best of the AFC. We'll see them later. Now go win a couple football games against Division opponents. It's a long season. We are only a few games in.
