  1. Conversely, he’s been normally so solid throughout the games that the need for dramatics with large comeback margins at the end not as prevalent? That should count for something too—a team that doesn’t let huge holes be dug in the 1st place?
  2. Ok, I'll play along. OP, wouldn't an out of nowhere SB win feel almost even more fulfilling as your expectations at some point reasonably during the season, at least presumably, would have been tempered to expect nothing special for the season's outcome?
  3. Parrino/Talbot in their last podcast before Labor Day referenced this very point, to say that this regime values sure handed open field tackling/immediate wrap up after catch above a straight line speed metric. If only we could have both?
  4. I followed the TC reports pretty closely and can honestly not recall any inappropriate “clips of Josh ***** around all practice throughout”; if anything, it was mostly observers amazed at the # of throws being completed without the ball hitting the ground IIRC. Also in his lone preseason appearance he balled out. Point being, it’s a bridge too far to argue with a straight face that Josh’s off-season prep was not up to par. If you’re saying adding some levity here or there during the interminable dog days of Camp somehow took away from his focus, then in the words of General McAuliffe, “Nuts!”
  5. Belichick scribbling notes as we speak. In a copycat league this is the kind of stuff that needs to be cleaned up no doubt. But during the Bills TD drive in particular it seemed like we had the Steelers on their heels with the pace of play call and forcing them to play out of their rhythm—included the 12 man penalty on that drive IIRC?
  6. It sure seemed like turn style “lookout” type blocking from the interior OL was an issue most of the day, but when the all-22 comes out will know for sure. Talbot lumps them all in the pot so to speak: https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2021/09/josh-allen-bills-stumble-in-week-1-loss-to-steelers-6-reasons-to-be-encouraged-7-reasons-to-be-worried.html
  7. Agree with this overall although Levi & Josh will have a bounce back game IMO this week. Our Oline struggles to the extent they happened today was surprising. Better fix that as priority 1 this week. Sit Feliciano?
  8. My thoughts exactly—the amount of fawning off-season national press coverage was something new for us, and they may have overlooked the Steelers accordingly? I know I did, I blew up in Doc’s survivor pool already with the Bills. 😓
  9. Wood on the radio call said it was a situation of the Bills (Dabs) getting too cute for the situation and trying to hit a home run if it works, but of course quick pressure on the play meant that instead of a pitch, forced a throw and the rest speaks for itself…
  10. Best wishes SDS, and thanks for creating a safe space to let Bills fandom run roughshod!!
  11. One word for this team: Rootable! Very well done all around.
  12. Exactly…Steelers fans be like uh-oh, somebody’s been missing film study time on our coaching staff! But hey, can’t be mad if he’s eating a half-off dinner special by 4:30 and lights out by 7, only so many hours in the day!
  13. Hopefully we’ll be up so far and so fast, the Steelers run game becomes an afterthought and our new hires just get to tee off on Ben.
  14. Where’s the closet wall I can run through??? So stoked right now 🤠
  15. Classic stuff right there—Wyche in Buffalo I’d honestly forgotten about—but somehow seems serendipitous now that you mention it!
  16. I got a real chuckle out of this ‘89 article wherein Wyche and Levy snark at each other over the Bengals’ usage of no huddle being unfair, given what happened afterwards.. https://buffalonews.com/news/no-huddle-issue-still-bothers-wyche-bengal-coach-has-grudge-against-bills/article_4daf56a4-5efd-518e-a535-8925855be901.html As far as differences between the 2, the Bills turned it into a living and actually accelerated their game clock speed of running plays, while I’ve always heard the Bengals just didn’t huddle, but didn’t necessarily speed up the rate of plays? Not 100% sure on that. Wiki offers this: “The Bills are considered the only team to ever use the no-huddle offense consistently and completely throughout an entire game for several seasons. This means that the "K-Gun" offense always used the scheme as their primary offensive philosophy. Quarterback Jim Kelly would call and signal the plays himself on the field throughout the entire game. That is a unique achievement that has never been truly duplicated, therefore, the "K-Gun" offense earned a reputation as the most famous and complete hurry-up offense in football.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurry-up_offense
  17. A blast from the past for you to enjoy. The no-huddle in its heyday was something to behold, and Kelly was the right man for the job at the right time. ‘91 Kelly is the equal to pretty much any of the best out there Brady included, if you are looking just at command of a dominating offense and ability to convincingly roll your team into the playoffs. https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1991-09-22-1991265142-story.html And FWIW, recall the type of punishment JK endured in that days’ NFL, while still performing at a high level… https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-1991-11-17-9102170106-story.html
  18. I think it evens out as the Bills tell for a pass = Josh breaking the huddle.
  19. Who needs a “C” when there’s a hat for that?
  20. Don’t forget about Orton on that auspicious list!
  21. Week 1 is always such a crap shoot imo with teams finding their sea legs and new teams rising/falling from previous year…that said, I’ll go ahead and use up my Buffalo pick this week.
  22. Ok Alpha, but would Kelly ever be caught dead rocking this scarf over a blue collar while carrying his lunch pail?? I’ll hang up and listen.
  23. Hey, it’s a national guy out ahead of the KC not in the SB this year curve! Baby steps people. But feel free to flip the SB score outcome, and now we’ve really got something cooking with butter!
