  1. While I disagree with your premise that the Bills would have been even more out-coached with another week (also remember the Bills beat the Giants earlier that same season), I definitely agree that we played right into their gameplan and did not make the necessary adjustments at halftime to account for what they were showing. The 2nd half was basically more of the same. Thurman could've run for 200+ the way he was on fire, and the Bills staying on the field so long on D was a back breaker. Still, Norwood was hitting from 45+ in pregame warmups and all of this is moot if he boots it through just this once. Nice article below on the 4 in a row: https://www.cantonrep.com/article/20160203/SUPERBOWL/160209751
  2. Not sure, but his quotes/coaching platitudes from this piece 5 years ago sure look an awful lot like what we get to hear from McD at OBD most days... https://www.boston.com/sports/extra-points/2013/07/27/belichick_preps_for_camps_second_day Belichick's "process management" style discussed here: https://www.jaywren.com/the-power-of-the-process-management-nick-saban-and-bill-belichick/
  3. Now the fact that we can still have this sort of optimism and we are not yet mathematically eliminated is something to be thankful for!
  4. Totally agree. JK noted the quick turnaround in "Armed & Dangerous" (quality early 90's read BTW, most here should enjoy) and that there was way too much sampling of the local night life before the game--there's an anecdote in there about meeting up with Lawrence Taylor at a shoe modeling establishment which seems nuts to me in trying to prepare for the biggest game of your life, but different times back then (wow I feel old typing that). I guess it's still not as crazy sounding as Babe Ruth's generation chugging beers in the dugouts between innings . I feel like if the Bills knew was coming the next 3 years successively down the road, they would have observed curfew a bit more that week? Still, ended up only one kick away from the W, and that kick easily could have turned in left despite everything leading up to it!
  5. TIL that Minnesota produces the most turkeys in the US each year, followed closely by North Carolina.
  6. Good post, appreciate it @26CornerBlitz
  7. I'm the biggest football fan in the family, isn't even close, so most topics of convo don't even include the NFL to begin with--and most years, that's just fine with me . Sometimes that makes it a little difficult to have the Turkey day game on in the background however.
  8. Thanks for sharing @Augie. Will definitely check it out. Have always been fascinated by NDE's and what they can add to our understanding of what comes next. Just to piggyback on your book recommendation, "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper and "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo are both good reads on this topic that I found to be very thought-provoking and can't put down page turners.
  9. . What other emoticons would be appropriate for this thread?
  10. JAIB = JA is a bust; JANJK = JA is the next Jim Kelly; FD = Fire Daboll (honorable mention) FE = Fire Everyone (most popular)
  11. Hopefully not on a Kawasaki ninja riding the lane dashes between cars because, you know, waiting your turn to pass would be so boring and all ?. Really can’t stand it when I see driving stupidity like that!
  12. Silent but deadly...and that’s just the darts! ?Wonder if there’s any security camera footage they can review to catch the gleeful facial expressions made by whoever started it
  13. ^^^^^^This. Also, total side note @Rochesterfan I love the avatar pic, that’s Conlan rocking the fly ‘91 bold zebra duds right? Always wanted some like those as a young Bills fan but never got them—but now not even nostalgia could get me in them willingly ?
  14. But only if we fire everyone first, as this FO is incapable of drafting anything right, or so I’ve been told on these boards. Better yet, fire the Pegulas too and let Jon Bon Jovi save us all!
  15. Yikes Yolo. That’s a rogues’ gallery of choices, better you than me. Have felt like a free man since quitting fantasy ball several years ago! I will try to perfect my Buffalo chix dip recipe while you hammer out that starting lineup ☺️
  16. Ok, great. But that doesn’t mean we can’t hope for a stumble along the way, or shouldn’t treat him similarly to Brian Cox back in the day who lived for ripping Buffalo. Circle the wagons baby!
  17. Live by the tweet, die by the twitterverse Jalen. Here’s to hoping he has to deactivate all of his social media accounts after this week because of all the ridicule piling up after he can’t cash the checks his big mouth is writing.
  18. Except for the fact that my D is epically bad on the back end in getting gashed for 6 TD’s? ? See? It’s easy to find something not to love about the W. I’d be sweating bricks that the likelihood my D scores 2 TD’s every week and has multiple strip sacks along the way is slim and none to help out an otherwise Swiss cheese outing. But I guess I’d be happy that my HC is an aggressive sonofagun—I admit that
  19. Then obviously sit your behind on the bench, tell coaches you need a tap in sub until the game is over and then leave. Would have avoided all of the inevitable drama, negativity for both he and this club, and retain some measure of self respect in the process. Sometimes timing really is everything like it or not
  20. I like it ?. Great job on pulling the various scenario threads together, and almost convincing me to rush headlong into playoff fever at 3-7, lol! Good post for the bye week doldrums
  21. That’s the spirit! You should bet at least 5K against the Bills, that seems to be the key. Only, we weren’t supposed to have a chance going in to the bowels of the Vikings beast (remember the Bills PR Twitter fiasco about where the Bills were even flying to that week?), or against the high flying Titans (did they in turn beat the Pats last week?), or against the Jets with a shoe string QB situation? I feel at least as good about this game coming up as I have all season about anything, because I know this team has grit and will bring it. Also, how can you bet against the Bills especially since they have warm feet this week courtesy of McD’s nice gesture???
  22. It was barely one with TT last year, arguably a more playoff caliber roster’s worth of talent, at least offensively. This year’s squad was never going to be one, basically as a victim of rebuilding circumstance by design. Would we have had better QB play in JA’s injury absence? No question, but still not enough to really matter, IMHO
  23. Barkley is not the future—his run since 2013 has shown that. Love that he has a spot renaissance story to tell the grandkids now, but he will never be more than serviceable, at best over the long haul. JA represents the future and the die has already been cast that if healthy he starts, there is no going back unless he absolutely turns into the next incarnation of Tuel/NP, which he won’t. He’s already shown enough flashes to be able to say that.
