Allen just needs reps like crazy Aaron Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Stafford, Wentz, Wilson just to name a few have the opposite of a noodle arm

It’s still an NFL roster. We saw the Bills win the 2nd half last week and make it a game. Take away some rookie mistakes by Allen which he will improve on, and instead we could be talking about one of the greatest comebacks ever.

I hope they do approach it that way! Would like to see Allen get a few more TD throws under his belt and make ‘em pay

So if the Bills pull off historic upset, the narrative nationally (and on some of these boards) will be, "yeah but they weren't playing the Vikes at full strength, so this means nothing and Allen is still fatally inaccurate"

Valid points. Regardless of anyone's personal views on kneeling, no NFL player is allowed to do whatever they want on their employer's dime, if against the rules to do so, just like any other employee. The only reason the owners haven't cracked down on it more is a PR worry--but by letting the issue fester without a real resolution, it's made it even worse IMO. Flyover America not happy, Kaep and his fans also not happy, great result! In the meantime we have to have arguments over whether or not Reid's off the field views should affect our GM's decision on whether or not to sign him. Football used to be an escape from political back and forth--wonder if it ever will be again?

Not even a fair comparison--Mahomes sat on his butt for year 1, learning, absorbing, being mentored by cagey QB vets, Andy Reid as his offensive muse, etc. Oh, and, he has a legit SB-capable supporting cast around him to bail him out. Allen? Not so much. If anything, it's almost more surprising that Allen looked as good as he did (at times) last week and didn't pull a Peterman, even after Vontae pulls his disappearing act, his WR's are doing their best impression of the walking dead on curl routes, and his center is setting up shop in his lap. That's progress by Allen, and I can't wait to see what he does when everyone around him also improves. I guess that's a long winded way of saying I'm good with the big fella right now.

I'd agree with you if all we're looking at is a one game sample size. But how about TT and you can almost never get past 165 in a pass-happy league? Passing yards matter over time as they usually show consistency of success at the position, or lack of it.

Too soon to pass judgment. If they hit on the biggest pieces they've spent draft capital on so far of Allen, TE, (analogous to Kelly, Talley or Smith) by way of us seeing marked improvement throughout the rest of 2018, then I'm good with letting them build up the supporting cast too through 2019.

That's part of my point though--you and I could take a crack at this GM thing and have just as much (or little) success for how many college All-Americans = busts in the NFL. That said, I am happy we have Tre White--lockdown CB on his side of the field anyway. Nobody's even tried to really test him yet this year (or had to). Compared to the rest, Dion also seems to be more than holding his own when not hurt.

Have the greatest respect in the world for Frank, good guy, great player in his role, and I think would've made a good HC here too. Pederson also credits him for coming up with the offensive SB gameplan that stymied the Patsies D. But we have to roll with what we've got, and as mentioned before, the jury's still out. I will say McD can put a lot of naysayers to bed if he's able to build on the 2nd half of last week and keep play-calling responsibilities for the D--I just wish they weren't playing the Vikes in Minnesota this week.
