  1. Thanks for the quality control edits Donuts--nothing gets by you and I am appreciative!
  2. So you could’ve expected other teams in the same era to do it too, but still only the Bills.
  3. I hear ya. As recently as earlier the past week I was posting that no one has ever won 3 afccs in a row after the Bills (Miami did do this before us, as D2D pointed out below, but never made it to 4 either), to say nothing of 4. Obviously now NE has joined the 3 in a row crowd. That said I do think that context to everything matters, and (1) we did it before the Pats; (2) we never had to cheat or push the boundaries of what is legal; (3) D’s were much more punishing back in the day towards O’s, and our D while good, was never a steel curtain, so our O consistently thrived and carried the dynasty in spite of facing more punishment arguably than Brady; (4) Brady’s been coached by the best—our coaches for the 90’s Bills were good, but not GOAT; (5) Nutritional/health science advancements are light years beyond where the players were in the 90’s—helping the current crop’s staying power Anyway, feel free to disagree but the above is some of the reason why the 90’s Bills will always be special to me, no matter what BB/Brady do from here.
  4. There is a realistic hope for us that Allen has the skillset to blow up a game plan designed by Hoodie to stop him, once Allen has skill position and line talent around him to maximize said skillset. And that’s enough to tide me over to 2019, because it’s more than we’ve had during NE’s run of dominance from the get go.
  5. That’s not a factually incorrect statement. Opportunity will be there. Go get it Josh!
  6. ^^^^^This. I thought it was telling that his journey of personal rediscovery and anger mgmt or whatever you want to call it, conveniently began 5 minutes after the tape dropped and the heat was turned up. I don’t buy he’s made too many heart changes but would love to be wrong about that. Everyone can be redeemed, but they have to want it. Otherwise it’s all for show and means nothing.
  7. You’re right, this post is total PR hype...for the wrong Josh crowd. In the meantime I’ll take the sour taste in my mouth that the Miami season ending game left me with, and wonder whatever shall we do at the QB spot since Allen is obviously such a bust. ? Please. If you can’t really see what your eyeballs are telling you, that this kid is legit, then what exactly were you looking at? The Cardinals all year?
  8. This was my 1st thought after reading the OP. Lofton was a good and deep complement for Reed during 90 esp, even on the backside of his career. That said, I still can’t bring myself to consider this possibility as that much to be excited about, probably bc of Shadys recent history and DeSean’s age, diva streaks.
  9. This is what happens when you lose a staring face off with a rookie
  10. Kelly absorbed a ridiculous amount of punishment. Still makes me cringe remembering the spear to the knees that he took from Ken Norton Jr. in XXVII that knocked him out of that one—I think in today’s NFL it would’ve been automatic suspension, flagrant foul, fine, the works. Back then it was any given Sunday lol.
  11. You’re absolutely right, it was a terrible game, the exact opposite of the week before. I applaud your iron stomach to rewatch it. I actually did the same thing with some of the SB’s; still kills me how well we played at certain points during many of them. Even SB XXVII, check out the first quarter—We drive for points, we block a Dallas punt, and life feels good lol. Then in XXVIII, we basically dominate the whole first half. Still gets me every time.
  12. Calling Bond "old chap" during that train sequence was also classic--Bond no likey that
  13. "She was just this big beautiful gentle giant wanting to use our boat as a scratching post," LOL. I'm sure she got that big by constantly being late for dinner. I'm guessing the fact that she was already dining on a readily available meal of sperm whale had nothing at all to do with her lack of aggressiveness during this "encounter." "Ramsey and other divers were able to swim next to the great white, but warned boaters and other divers to stay away from the dead sperm whale site due to safety issues."
  14. Word. Colonel Hessler in Battle of the Bulge is one that sticks out for me, as well as one of the villainous Bond assassins in From Russia With Love. Great actor
  15. Sorry for your loss Fires
  16. Really sorry to hear about that AFL, and yes, as a parent I cannot even imagine that.
  17. This is how I feel right now about our chances to ever crack this case :
  18. Give your loved ones an extra hug/kisses today, and every day you are blessed to have with them after that.
  19. Except for all of the "Carolina yet again" posts on here complaining that's all McBeane will look at, and that would veritably crash & explode the server room (is there still such a thing?)
  20. Could anyone really have done much better than he did with what he was given (or not given) around him, especially as a rookie?
  21. For those of us who need consoling after reading that, the Bills are still the only team to ever have WON 3 afccgs in a row, to say nothing of 4. (Cue the but I’ll take just 1 of his SB rings in exchange in 3...2...1)
  22. <yawn>. When do voluntary minicamps start again?
  23. Agreed--and also in Carolina, that was their first expansion year. To say nothing of the Lions, a perennial non-contender, so no question he was hamstrung by a lack of talent around him everywhere after post early 90's Buffalo.
  24. The HOF QB throwing his way (who had plenty of weapons to throw to) went out of his way to request Tasker be converted to the WR unit. That tells me pretty much everything I need to know. As for the stats, Tasker didn't get to play WR until late in the run, so his window to rack up was also necessarily narrowed. But watch him play as was also suggested above, and you'll see the natural talent/good hands that he had.
