  1. Revolutionary for his time! Back then nobody cared about head trauma, but his idea was sound in principle, no? I agree--really liked him
  2. I respect the dynastic greatness we’ve seen from the Pats/Brady/BB since 2001, and I’ve grudgingly referred to TB12 as the GOAT on these boards plenty. As Bills fans we should know as much as anybody just how much of a feat it is to sustain any kind of greatness over time, coming back time after time. That disclaimer out of the way, doesn’t mean we don’t get to poke fun at their expense—I will be reprising a memes thread the week before every game against them like I did this year, because, why not? As football fans we can appreciate what run they’re on (unnecessary cheating episode warts notwithstanding), but as Bills fans we get to also boo their arrogant smug mugs and pile on, hoping to crack their streaks with our own new wunderkind at the helm. We can do both, people!
  3. Excuse me Sean, your playcall sheets look like they could use another layer of laminating--I'll get that taken care of for you right away!
  4. @Bleedingreennc Always good to see a fan of another team, especially a rival in the AFC E, having kind words to say in a situation like this!
  5. The Browns used to be the cream of the NFL crop when they first entered the league...what a disaster for the most part since then! The Browns won a championship in their inaugural NFL season, as well as in the 1954, 1955, and 1964 seasons, and in a feat unequaled in any of the North American major professional sports, played in their league championship game in each of the Browns' first ten years of existence. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Browns I suppose we don't have a whole lot of room talk with the drought and all, but still, they have taken awfulness to a record setting level of their own. Of course, their future looks very bright, so there's that.
  6. Always a class act Ice! Stay warm up there.
  7. One of the local sports radio stations here did a "tease" this morning before a commercial break, saying something to the effect that, 'wait till you hear which long time coach was just sent packing by a successful NFL club, and who has been mentioned as the most likely highly entertaining candidate to replace him'--and of course I figured right away they had to be talking about this, which is what it was, with no additional sourcing info behind it beyond the Schefter tweet. Made me wonder if I'm in the wrong line of work if that's all it takes as a radio talking jockey? I get they're not sports journalists in that sense, but to not even consider how or why that take might not be accurate, is what got me as a listener.
  8. You're right---I need to go back into hiding and think up other topics I can go back to being passive aggressive on so no one is directly offended.
  9. Really dude? Take it at face value and move on. It was some tongue in cheek humor, and the fact that I even have to explain that is ridiculous. Sorry that didn't strike you as funny. That said, I've directly commented/called out plenty on the multiple fire everyone type threads that popped up during the worst stretches of the 2018 season, if you care to go back and review.
  10. Sure hope Rex in expecting to get the job, didn't already instruct his realtor to find a house most likely to be hit in Tornado Alley out there. Also, I bet the red Chiefs wrap would be harder to get off his truck than Buffalo Blue.
  11. Wrong Josh picked first again! When will the right Josh finally get his due?
  12. Not meant at you OP! Just the hot take themes that came up periodically during the 2018 campaign
  13. So wait, you're saying don't "fire everyone" anymore?
  14. We need to look at the definition for "brilliant." Having or showing unusual and impressive intelligence. https://www.thefreedictionary.com/brilliant Does Rex have this? I would say Belichick does in spades. I would also say Dick LeBeau, Wade Phillips and Dom Capers are in this echelon for example on defense. Just bc he was our HC and not the DC, he defacto was in charge of the D, in the sense that it was his system that was installed here, and he even brought brother Rob in to help communicate his vision to the players. The results speak for themselves. Just my opinion, but I think an "impressive intelligence" would figure out a way to make the system digestible to the players to where they can run free to make plays, without overthinking themselves and getting caught in the weeds, thus playing from behind the 8-ball, the way we often did during his tenure here unfortunately. We know from a pure talent standpoint, the Bills D was in good shape from when Schwartz left. What happened thereafter is already well documented. And as a previous poster already pointed out, what may have been "brilliant" to start, was countered by other teams and Rex never properly was able to adjust.
  15. I kinda feel like we have so many needs, it's almost by default than anybody we take in the draft will be "addressing an area of need."
  16. In the words of a coach who's name I can't even remember, many many moons ago at a small NCAA Div. III school, "I'll take that!" (He was watching line drills and liked the effort) .
  17. Owning it is the first step to rehabbing your mojo--and BTW, there are other posters who still can't let the wrong Josh theme go, and have backed themselves into a corner where they have to hope that Allen busts, and it doesn't look so far like that's any kind of a safe bet any longer. Welcome to the light!
  18. Hate to pull the one-up card, but we still own the prime real estate for post-season SB angst, no? Gugs, would you rather be watching the Bills from the awe-inspiring confines of the Rogers Centre for 8 games per year? Count me out on that.
  19. I think that goes towards maturity and an understanding that he's just started scaling the mountain, and has earned nothing yet besides the right to become even more scrutinized this coming season. The Bills have to translate the growing pains of 2018 into additional W's in 2019, we all know that. But I feel like the foundation is being properly laid. How do you rank your feelings comparatively about the upcoming season with any since the start the turn of the century?
  20. Plus McD indicated in the article that they will make sure Palmer is familiar with the terminology/concepts they want JA to continue to work on--what's not to like about this, right?
  21. Thanks for posting Transplant. Good to see JA grabbing the offseason by the proverbial horns and not taking an extended vacay somewhere waiting around for minicamp to call. He just flat out makes it easy to like him as the face of our franchise going forward.
  22. Thanks for posting Yolo. Could not be happier for Jim and his family. Cancer is insidious, and doesn't care your age or social standing. Appreciate that Kelly has not forgotten the medical teams that worked with him on his road to this outcome, nor the fellow cancer sufferers he's gone out of his way to meet and lift up (see example vid link below). A true selfless cat, all the best going forward! https://www.buffalobills.com/video/watch-jim-kelly-surprises-patients-at-ecmc
  23. I also about fell out when I read that nonsense from Stephen A. What a farce of a talking head full of mush. Rex has a graceful way about him where he makes you laugh all the while he’s stealing your lunch money (to give to Rob who’s still hungry ?)
  24. They will also have to install a real fireplace chimney so that brother Santa can drop in for Rex's defensive scheme wizardry meetings https://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/10/nfl-rob-ryan-long-hair-pink-jacket-meme-jokes-twitter-reaction-photos
