Rob Ryan hired as Redskins LB coach
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Christmas came early to the nation’s capital...??; this makes sense—Snyder just purchased a new bigger and better yacht than Jerry Jones, and what better accessory to man the helm than “Yachting Santa?” https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2017/10/19/16503834/what-does-rob-ryan-look-like-miami-vice-gandalf-or-yacht-santa -
Donuts, I will spring for a baker’s dozen if we are talking about a winning record against TB12 entering 2028 camp...hey, those years will pass by either way quickly, so let’s hit on the draft, FA, and Allen’s development of a cybertronic elbow, shall we? In all seriousness, why not us? What would make the Jets or Phins such better options to take the division away from NE once and for all?
-
Well that settles it, he can barely beat the Cardinals or the Giants, so someone get on the horn to the commish's offices and make the 2020 schedule feature the first ever home and home outside the division for him against Rosen and Eli! Problem solved

Hear, hear. Little thing called work/life balance that seems to fly out the window when the race is to be first in, last out at all costs. I remember Rob Ryan being so proud of the fact that he was sleeping at the office while working on the "All In" implementation of the Ryan D...that helped a lot, lol! https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2016/04/rob_ryan_has_been_sleeping_in_his_office_at_one_bills_drive.html Nah...Gregg Williams had already promised him the Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior cabinet job, but then Williams decided to go with the Ny Jets defensive coordinator job, so that dried up on him...

So this explains the quick Crossman hire to lock down their Special Teams tanking help for this season?

Good point Donuts--there's always a ripple effect that starts with the QB--and that can be negative or positive. Look at Brady--how many FA's that signed with NE during his run have openly acknowledged that they wanted to catch passes from him, and that they were giving themselves the best chance of going deep in the playoffs as well? Gronk also stating this is the only guy he wants to catch passes from, the list is endless. Is it always sunny in Boston (no pun intended) and 80 degrees? This cold weather narrative could apply the same to many of the NFL's northern/midwestern legacy franchises, except it doesn't when their franchise caliber QB's make them attractive landing spots for FA's, coaches, etc. During the drought, how many fine player folk were beating down the door to OBD when the likes of Edwards, EJ, or Van Pelt were slinging the rock? That said, there is a changing of the guard coming, and we are well positioned to ride that wave, weather narrative be darned. If Buffalo was so unattractive to top tier talent as a rule, then the 90's run could not have been sustained as it was...of course Jimbo at first also wanted to duck out of being drafted by the Bills, but as soon as he got here and saw what Buffalo is all about, he quickly became one its most vocal advocates, and we rode the wave, so to speak. Josh's success will similarly allow us to be better positioned to make this an attractive place to come play, besides only barrels of cash to throw around. I for one, can't wait to see this translate on the field.

Well, according to sexy Rexy, he always gave Tommy and Hoodie the most problems. So that must be a scientific fact!

Who needs real winter weather to close the schools down anymore? I’m sitting in metro ATL right now with the sun shining, temps hovering at 40 per my vehicle thermometer, and nary a trace of precipitation after some morning rain showers left on the ground (that I can see at least). Yet, every single school district in this area along with all govt offices, are closed. <sigh>. What a bunch of weenies.

1993 Bills - only team to beat last 3 SB champs?
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the crazy part (one of them), we actually usually looked competent coming out of the gate--even in SB27, we did some things that made me think this was going to be the one during the 1st quarter before the wheels came off. Josh has his work cut out for him, but I have faith that we have the right guys in place in building a solid foundation for a springboard back to playoff glory. -
It's a fine line in the NFL between winning and losing--I understand and respect the greatness that has been the NE franchise for BB's reign; however, the law of entropy will not be mocked forever. There will come a time when we can replace the order of the words I bolded, and then I hope one of the posters here doesn't jump into one of the NE fan boards to repay the commentary favor, lol. In fact, during the 90's I believe the fan process you spell out was reversed already. It's all cyclical man, no matter the length of the curve.

Barnwell has Bills at 6 wins in 2019
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to BillsfaninSB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also haven’t had the kind of talent at QB in 20 years that we seem to be set with now, so I’ll happily take those odds. Ideally though, someone here should bet 5K against the Bills winning more than 6 games, so we can be doubly sure it happens. -
Donuts, just take a look at his obit--he was an even better person off the field by all accounts of his teammates. Life and soul of the O-line. http://www.legacy.com/ns/kent-hull-obituary/154203981

I miss that Son of a Bum

The "Plan" to trip up Brady is in the nuclear codes "football" in his right hand. Guard that case with everything you've got Son of Bum! -
I'd say I don't have a reason to dis-like it. At some point, the players just need to be able to make plays and get us some W's. Hopefully he's a part of that process in a positive way for the line. For what it's worth, here's the bio given for Andrew Dees, the coach he replaces, at the time of that hire: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/1/20/14343200/buffalo-bills-hire-andrew-dees-as-assistant-offensive-line-coach Nothing jumps out at me that Dees was somehow that much more eminently qualified, so there's that.

Our last double-digit season wins HC? Yeah, I do miss him too.
