  1. I'm curious why the Smartest Coach Ever didn't take the half-the distance on the 2 point try instead of taking a meaningless 15 yard penalty on the kickoff.
  2. Like everyone else, I HATE HATE HATE losing to the Patriots, and my stomach was in knots for the whole game (although this week I didn't cover my eyes when the FG team was on the field). BUT.... 1. If the most important thing is winning in the playoffs, then a loss yesterday means we can rest our starters for some or all of the Jets game and give the guys who are banged up an extra week to recuperate. 2. If we had won and needed Miami to win in NE next week, what would we do if the Patriots are winning by 17 at halftime? Pull the plug on the Jets game and get ready for the playoffs? What if the Patriots are up by 3 at halftime? You still KNOW that they're going to do what they almost always do... 3. Lots of criticism here about the plain vanilla game plan but it may have been smart not to put too much on tape for playoff teams to study. Don't forget that we may be back in Foxborough in a few weeks. The only wrinkle was the tackle-eligible play to Dawkins but the world has seen that one already. Going in I felt that it was an ideal situation: nothing to lose and everything to gain, play your hearts out but keep focused on the long picture. As it turns out, we escaped the game without serious injuries (except maybe Morse) and if certain players needed to lay an egg it was as good a time as any. On to Houston!!
  3. That's nothing compared to what happened in the Sabres game yesterday. There was the longest stretch I can remember seeing of uninterrupted play. One of the Kings broke his stick and it sat on the ice for what seemed like half an hour, I think by the time play was stopped the guy whose stick it was had come back and skated another shift.
  4. First Bills game I ever watched on TV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_American_Football_League_Championship_Game I should have learned my lesson right away but instead I'm still there in front of the TV 53 years later
  5. "Carruba Collision is now Gerber Collision." Which you know if you watch the Sabres games.
  6. do you think United has one plane with special seats for large gentlemen? Hard to picture Quentin Spain sitting in the middle seat in coach.
  7. Same aircraft traveled Green Bay to Chicago around 6PM on Sunday. Did the Bears and the Bills use the same plane? https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N57868/history/20191215/2230Z/KGRB/KORD
  8. Too bad for you, you missed 3+ hours of Dan Fouts
  9. Doesn't matter what all of us think, I'm convinced Sean planned to go for the 2 and he would have stolen the win if it worked.
  10. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2019/12/04/ray-ray-mccloud-buffalo-bills-receiver-plays-role-of-ravens-quarterback-lamar-jackson-in-practice/2610757001/
  11. I don't think throwing is the part of Jackson's game that will trouble the Bills. By the way maybe we should sign Colin K to work with the scout team for the week.
  12. If John Brown is practicing with the scout team this week, we have a problem
  13. I wonder if the Bills ought to have Wade run the scout team this week. It would be a good way to get the defense accustomed to a very fast and elusive QB as they prepare for Lamar Jackson.
  14. I may be wrong but I don't think the Bills have a big following in Ireland
  15. I'm in Israel and I watch all the games on nflgamepass.com Cyprus has a lot of young tourists and a fair number of sports bars but probably catering more to English Premier League than NFL. Considering that the game is Thursday night at 11:30 PM local time, there's probably no other live sports action and a good sports bar will try to find the game if she requests.
  16. You're one of the few geezers left on this board. I had a case with Dan when he was practicing law in Buffalo in the 1980s. One day I said to him "Dan, why does your name sound familiar to me?" He responded "I used to be the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills." Talk about a conversation stopper!
  17. Anyone know anything about the two OTs on the practice squad?
  18. I think this is my favorite combination for away games, and the opposite (blue on white) for home games. Everything else looks like pajamas.
  19. Anyone up for a trade? Haushka for Vinatieri, straight up. Each team pays the airfare for their guy.
