  1. Man, I hate the defenseless receiver rule.
  2. This isn’t unique to the NFL. NCAA, NBA, MLB, NHL... big media markets, premier teams, and all star players always get away with some combination of the benefit of the doubt and preferential treatment. The idea of impartiality in professional sports is a facade.
  3. Please no. Johnson doesn’t have elite NFL-level athleticism. Any team that takes him that high is going to regret it.
  4. I really don’t care about the off-field issues of past players. We have a legal system, for better or worse with its faults, and OJ went through it. It’s not my concern. OJ was a great Bill. He will always be a great Bill. If has something interesting/insightful to say about that, I have no problem with him speaking. On the flip side, I have no interest in his personal story after football because it’s probably all a lie.
  5. The narrative that Bell could have gotten injured playing this year has to go. This isn’t a guy sitting in the couch safeguarding his body. Bell is working out, training, staying in football shape. And not like you and me, we’re talking intensive training for an elite athlete. He could tear an ACL making a cut while training just as easily as in a game situation.
  6. I’d be fine with cutting Anderson and Peterman and letting Barkley stay as backup. He appears to get the mental side of the game and has good mechanics, the things Allen needs help with. What Barkley doesn’t have is the physical tools, which doesn’t matter as much for what we need.
  7. 290, 2TD, 3INT. ...and on Monday morning WGR is discussing the great Barkley vs. Anderson debate of 2018.
  8. I can’t wait until he doesn’t get anywhere near what he thinks he’s going to.
  9. This is why people have the perception that “Bills Mafia” is a bunch of trash. This is disrespectful and classless.
  10. I mean, a team missing their starting RB and their best pass catcher looking “ordinary” is pretty good.
  11. The point of sports-talk is to make strong, divisive arguments that engage callers. No doubt the topic of ‘morals over talent,’ which McD has given plenty of fodder to drive the conversation, is going to light up the phones. So it’s actually a great topic as far as radio goes. The reason they may shy away though is the controversial nature of the conversation isn’t well-suited to a program/station that wants to remain impartial when it comes to religious values.
  12. I don’t know why people keep saying this. I would put significant money down that McD/Pegula didn’t expect this team to be this bad. This isn’t what they expected.
  13. And here I thought I’ve been watching a quarter of garbage time because the Bears were destroying us. I didn’t realize the competitive nail biter were in.
  14. Just put Barkley in, why not? It doesn’t matter if it looks the same. I never need to see Nathan Peterman play again.
  15. When the joke becomes all too real. ?
  16. Good QB’s make the coach, not the other way around. Those Chan Gailey teams had enough talent that they would have been a perennial wild card team with an all time great QB. Add an elite #1 WR to those Gailey or Jauron teams and they’re probably a Superbowl contender in any given year. ...so they would have been kind of like the Packers, usually mediocre rosters, sometimes good rosters, but always mediocre coaching held up by a great QB. Get the QB right, the rest will follow.
  17. Are you tone deaf? That’s exactly what Beane is. And yes, it does happen all the time in business. Administrative heirarchies is messed up all over the place. My company, a huge multi-national, is a disaster. You don’t seem to know much about the practical world so arguing with you isn’t worth my time.
  18. If your company’s owner directly hired you and then it was you who effectively got your boss hired, then yes, your boss is probably your superior in title only. That is Beane. He is paid because he performs the daily business functions of a GM but let’s make no mistake, he is most likely taking directives from McD.
  19. You’re 30 and you have a daughter? Seek counseling because that sounds like an undiagnosed anger issue. As somebody who got into quite a few late night brawls as a youth myself, spent some nights in the holding center, and got an acd once, you’re way too old to be reacting to perceived disrespect (at a sporting event) with violence.
  20. I mean, eff the Pats but they have the fourth best record in the league and they just beat the second best team last week. I’m not sure that “aren’t that good anymore” is how I would describe them.
  21. Sure. Nathan Peterman COULD become an all-pro QB, too. It’s unlikely. Zay could become a nice player but Woods is firmly a top-15 WR. One could argue top-10, even. The original comment that Zay can “easily” top that, is incorrect. Top-10 caliber WR would be shattering current expectations.
  22. Woods has become one of the best possession receivers in the league. Saying Zay can become that “easily” is quite a stretch.
  23. Roetglisberger dispised Haley. The Steelers had to have a mediator between the two on game days because they wouldn’t talk to each other. In ended when Roethlisberger supposedly claimed he would retire if Haley was retained.
  24. The packers “success” hasn’t been because of McCarthy. It’s been in spite of him, because Aaron Rodgers is an all time great.
  25. Nice strawman. You’re debating arguments nobody has made in this thread. and the Bills lack of offensive talent isn’t a viable excuse. It’s actually more of a condemnation on their job.
