Barnwell: Progress Report on 2018 1st Round QBs
DuckyBoys replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only thing Taylor and Allen has in common is both run for yards Taylor protected the ball was super conservative and never tried to fit in/throw receivers open. Allen is aggressive sometimes too much so but has show ability to throw guys open and fit the football into coverage -

You guys prefer a 6 yard check down on 3rd and long vs attempting to get the conversion? You must have loved Trent Edwards at qb Nothing drove me more crazy than watching Trent/Tyrod settle for a check down and punt especially late in the game when time was running out. That Jags playoff game made me want to smash the tv watching Taylor never give a guy a shot and making the play. -

To give an honest and complete evaluation you need to watch all his plays knowing the context they came in. I don't believe Barnwell nor any other talking head spends 48 hrs of his life each week watching every game in full. Even if you watch a condensed version with just the throws you still would not be 100% on how the team was in that down and distance. If you are a Bills fan and have watched every game in full you have a better feel of how he has played given what he has faced. He has looked like a different player since he came back from the elbow. Bills should have won both of the last two games. Allen did his part, special teams and too many miscues by the supporting cast with penalties. Comparing him to Tyrod is ridiculous He has already probably converted more third and longs with passes into tight coverage than Tyrod did in his entire tenure as starter. I think people have a very short memory on how specific game script had to be for Bills victories was with Taylor . Does he need to take another light year leap? Absolutely but I believe he has the mental fortitude/smarts and will to do it. -
Poll: Draft Greedy Williams in the 1st Round?
DuckyBoys replied to Haplo848's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if he's the bpa it is what it is Not like we can't use a 2nd shut down corner -
He's also fit some balls into window most qbs wouldn't dream of trying to fit . Lets get him a line that can hold blocks, some semblance of a running game and at least one guy who can get open before we decide what this guy is or isnt Most of his problems are from trying to do too much with too little . I think the hero ball is minimized once has faith/trust in some guys picking up the slack around him.

total click bait Waste of ten minutes reading his drivel -
We don't know if he will stop making the rookie mistakes or always do it. I think its safe to assume he will look better behind a competent O line and with some play makes who can win their matchup and make some contested catches. The flash plays give me hope he can improve the consistency on the routine easy stuff to be a great QB

Agreed, 49ers have a dynamic stud TE, better rbs and sadly Goodwin and Garcon are better than what we have Cardinals is debatable but I'd still rather have the younger David Johnson and old man Fitz over what we have Raiders pretty close too but I like Jared Cook

Personally I'd like to see McDermott go 100% into developing Josh as his main focus for the game plan. Stop play calling like a mistake ruins the season. Let him throw down field on early downs and let him make the throw when needed to The stupid Philly special pissed me off Save that crap for play off games or at least a meaningful game where nothing is working

I re-watched every throw three times now. Right off the bat I see 6 drops and 2 throw away's At least two more would be throw away's with the average qb but Josh gets away from heavy pressure to at least attempt a pass late into coverage. He also attempts several more difficult throws past the stick, some which are completions some are not instead of taking the check down for little or no gain. He is hurting his stats by trying to make the play for the bigger gain or to get the first down. Once the O line gets better and they get receivers who can win at least some of the time the offense will look much better. Right now the kid is trying to make a gourmet meal over a dim fire with a rusty pan and spam and stale bread.

6 drops on Sunday plus all the penalties Team around him has to execute better He's a rookie and the team/play calling is making it as difficult as possible

Week 14: Bills vs. Jets Postgame

Yup , he tries to use a hard count and at least 2 or 3 times Bills jumped. Must be hard to remember you are going on the third hut hut Execution has been really bad. -
Week 14: Bills vs. Jets Postgame
DuckyBoys replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To put it in as few words as possible , Allen needed some help to get a win and he got very little. He has been the entire offense since coming back from the elbow and he is not good enough at this juncture to overcome bad O line play, no run game, little support from his receivers. Add in the penalties and terrible special teams play and its just too much. On the bright side even under heavy duress on almost every snap and with zero run game he has been able to move the football. I'd like to see them let him turn it loose on early downs. Seems his best throws are coming on those third and impossible downs. -

Young players got needed play time to evaluate for 2019 Other than Milano being hurt, the outcome could be much worse -

Without a doubt We cant even try deep shots off play action Every throw has to be on the run
