I offered to clean my neighbours' windows during the restrictions and it kind of snowballed into me setting up a window cleaning business. This will be extra to my "normal" job as a Fund Accountant. So far I've enough custom for a extra day's work a month. With a bit more basic marketing I'm confident of getting this up to 2 days a month which will make me around a further £3k a year which will boost my pension pot or even get me back over to Buffalo for a game. Window cleaning was my first job when I finished school and I ended up doing for 3 years while I lived the fun life while I was between 18 and 21. I settled down in life after that but I always wanted to go back to working in a job I felt my happiest. The current situation opened the door to this and I've taken a small step in.

Who is your favorite all times Bills player and why?
BritBill replied to BuffBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bruce Smith. My favourite player on the team which got me hooked on the sport and why I chose the Bills as my team. Most recently it's been Kyle and on the team now it's Edmunds. -
I'm not a basketball/NBA fan by any stretch but what I am fascinated by is sports people who are the best of the best. Think Tiger Woods, Shane Warne etc. I know very little of Michael Jordan other than him being recognised as one of the finest athletes/sportsmen ever. I know even less of Rodman, Pippen and the rest of the great Chicago Bulls team of the 90s. I watched the first episode of this and it hooked me straight away. Just imagine being part of that scene? It's unfathomable to mere mortals. You have to liken it to the Liverpool/Man Utd soccer dynasties in the 80s and 90s. The great West Indies and Australia cricket teams who dominated for years with special players regarded as the best ever to pay their respective sports. I'll try and catch up over the weekend.

I asked a question a couple of weeks ago about on what stat(s) do you judge how good a defense is. Well, this time I'm asking how do you judge how good/bad an offensive line is? Do you go by sacks allowed? 1st downs achieved by rushing? Time the QB has in the pocket? Open my eyes to your minds people. ?

Tyler Bass, kicker, might be Bills' best pick
BritBill replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jake Elliott was the first other player to spring to mind when reading this thread. I firmly believe it's all in the head with the NFL kickers. The vast, vast majority of them have the technique nailed. It's having the mental ability to maintain that technique under extreme game day pressure. Much akin to soccer players taking penalties in a shoot-out. The coaches will have to decide pretty quickly if Bass has it mentally to become kicker in his first season. The Eagles saw it in Elliott where the Bengals didn't. Elliot missed his first XP attempt in Super Bowl LII. After that he hit he only other XP and 3 field goals. One a 46 yarder in the 4th quarter. That's mental toughness with balls bigger than King Kong. Elliott proves it can be done with a rookie kicker who was drafted but the Bills have to be certain Bass is up to it in this extremely crucial season for this franchise. The schedule remains tough after the draft so I'm sure a lot of the games will be close and come to to XPs and FGs. -
How accurate was your mock last night?

I bet his parents were watching. They looked the type. -

My plan is to get settled and binge the entire second season and time it so it finishes as the draft starts tomorrow night. -
At this moment it's Allen and I hope it stays that way but..... I think Darnold will have the better career and be the better QB but that depends on how quickly the Jets get rid of Gase. Darnold might have to move away from New Jersey to overtake Allen. But then he won't be in the AFC East (probably).

Article on former Bills player Neil O'Donoghue
BritBill replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Missed 66% of his kicks and back home in time for tea. -
I've never heard of this chap before. His Bills career was very fleeting. Do any of the more mature members remember him? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-football/52293446

It was always a bit of a disappointment when the picture finally came round and it was just a bloke with a beard enjoying eating a banana.

Thanks Gunner. My first thought was getting the Cowboy's needs correct and then go from there. Who on your board is the first center to go? My internet searches today suggest Cesar Ruiz is making moves. Lindy's (which I get every year for quick reference on draft nights) has a top 3 of: Hennessy (Rd1-2) Tyler Biadasz (Rd2) Lloyd Cushenberry III (Rd2-3) With Frederick retiring and Jerry's tendency to pick OL fairy early I thought center would be high on their board.

I'm not a college football person nor do I get involved in draft discussions/mocks a lot. Anyway, my friend who's a Dallas Cowboys' fans asked me last night what I would do in the first 2 rounds if I was them. Dallas are picking 17th (Rd1) and 51st (Rd2). Having looked at several sources for information I came to the following prediction/solution: Trade down with Jacksonville to pick 20. Jags get picks 17 & 51. Dallas now had picks 20 & 40. I'm thinking about 100 points on the draft capital scale to get to 17 from 20 and also 51 to 40. With pick 20 Dallas select Xavier McKinney, Safety, Alabama With pick 40 Dallas select Matt Hennessy, Center, Temple What do people who know more about the draft than me think of that? My main concern seems to be Hennessy still being there at 40.

In geographical terms where was The Rockpile? I'm presuming it wasn't in Orchard Park where New Era is now.

Thanks all. The replies have definitely got me leaning towards yards allowed over points conceded. I also like the yards per play model. Should there be more credit given for lower yards per rush play over yards per pass play? Or vice versa.
-
I'm unsure. I've kind have been a points allowed chap but that can be skewed slightly like yards allowed by garbage time vanilla defense but maybe not as much. What about red zone points against? Also does everyone apply the same rules to judging an offense as they do a defense?
-
When you're assessing if a team has a good/great/elite defense what yardstick do you use? Yards allowed? Points allowed? Third down stops? 3 and outs? Sacks? Let me know your thoughts?

Are you classing NP as a QB? ? There was the two throws in the snow to Benjamin and did he throw a TD in the Texans game before sealing their win with a pick 6?
-
When I see videos like this, of any QB not just Allen, I normally think you could produce the same thing for nearly every QB and make them look a star. However, Allen makes 2 or 3 throws there only the likes of Rodgers and Brees would make. The throw to Beasley from the end zone versus Dallas and the cross body/field versus Houston are the ones I could watch over and over. He reduced the brain f@rts over the course of the season. Helped by being given Beasley. The obvious progression is now getting the deep throws more consistently. 2020 is a big year for Allen.

McCaffrey Signs 4 Years 64 Million
BritBill replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I picked him as a rookie and as I play in a keeper league he's gone nowhere since and won't be going anywhere in the future. Bridgewater and McCaffrey are a nice 1-2 for the Panthers but they'll need them to be on fire as they'll need to score 30 points a game to hit up that dub. -
We’ve set up a street WhatsApp group for people to stay in touch and offer/request help during the restrictions. As it turns out, the fella 3 houses down is a Seahawks fan (could be worse, right?) but he was actually at the Bills 2012 season opener at the Jets. I chose not to discuss the game too much.
