Well it’s not right that some teams pamper their players more than others. -

I thought of Benny Hill music watching Allen run around like the proverbial “chicken with its head cut off” yesterday.

I’ve worked on a sort of a Ponce de Leon approach to sports, view them as I did as a kid, trying to not let the outliers suck the enjoyment out of them. Corny?…..sure. Got something better?

One thing I miss not getting the Buffalo News anymore was to see the ALL-WNY teams in all the sports. Going back to my teens I looked forward to it and then following the rare kid who went D-I. -

Buffalo is a Sacred Place to Play a Football Game

Was a member of the JC Penny Buffalo Braves Jr. booster club. One of the “privileges” was buying Orange seats for $3-$4, never sat in them, just went and sat in the Blues. Saw all the greats of the early ‘70’s. “The Aud” was magical. It resonates as more special for me as I have been to Bills games at War Memorial. I can’t prove it, but I swear Danny Neaverth called Kareem “Alcindor” on an occasion or two when I saw the Bucks. -

Seeing the dawning of the Bills and Sabres franchises was truly unique and special for us ‘50’s and ‘60’s kiddies. ……and the Braves too. -
