Are we more deserving of the SB hype this year than last?
ngbills replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I disagree. To beat KC and CIN or whoever you add in the mix is pretty basic. You need to either be able to outscore them with our O, stop them with your D, or out scheme them. I don't think our O has improved to outscoring them. We may be more balanced which can help in the regular season and take some pressure off. But it is debated to non-Bills fans if our RB's are better. Singletary got paid more than any of our RB's. So if money talks he is better. Hopefully, our WR/TE room is better, which should not take much, but many unknowns. Our OL does look better but again if Brown is the weak link we are in trouble. So while our O could be better its still below KC and CIN. Only Bills fans will say our D is better. Most will point out the losses at dey positions and our DC. This will be a wait-and-see but is concerning to me. We did not add anyone on the edge and who knows when Miller is back. Our LB corp outside of Milano is a huge ?. Is Tre going to bounce back or continue to decline? Will Hyde be back healthy, Poyer as well? Tons of questions on D. Dorsey, Dorsey, McD. The pressure will be on this year. Allen cannot always be superman. The coaches need to help out. -
Bills' receiving corps getting bigger for playoff football

Our practice squad will dominant -
I could see one of the RB's cut.

Ford signed and is a lock.

This could be the best signing of the offseason.

Beane: “working on at least 2 veteran UFA’s”
ngbills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
He did say 2 DL I thought -
On paper we got better in some areas and worse on others. In all I don’t see an upgrade more of status quo. Hopefully the OL changes are what tilts the scale. However, the gap is not a real thing. The AFC has a bunch of good teams. It’s about coaching, luck, injuries and who shows up to play.

7th round pick creates a log jam? Trader away 6th round picks were useless picks anyway? Confusion. So in the 6th no one could crack our roster. But the guy in the 7th is competing for a spot.
-
Bills drafted 5 and 6th rounders are great picks Bills don’t use a 5 and 6th for a proven player it’s because we value our picks Bills trade 5 and 6th rounders they would not make the team anyway. Bills have a ton of 5 and 6th rounders next year they will be amazing picks I guess that can all be true? I would rather have used picks to trade up in 2, 3 and 4 this year and got a better LB and WR and DT.

Next year is always better…

This is weird. So we don’t want to use draft capital for players but don’t value picks to use?

The measurable scan be different than the body type and playing style. Kincaid is not a bruiser like Kelce or even Kittle. He relies more on height and speed than using his body to Muscle his way open. He is more of the big WR than the true TE.

Hate this 3rd pick. Much better options available and we have another Bernard on the roster.

That is the beauty of the draft. If a pick turns out to be an all pro no one cares when they were picked. Just seems like the Lions have forever doing who knows what. The many years ago drafting every WR possible with early picks to the last few years drafting TJ Hock and trading him, Jameson Williams is a potential bust, just traded Okudah for nothing. Now draft a RB and LB so early. Rough.
-
Any guesses on how many rookie TE's have 500 yards+ receiving in the past 3 drafts? Only one and that is Pitts. This can be a good move but expectations seem high that he immediately is a difference maker. I dont hate the pick, and I need to move on, but still dont get why we didn't get TJ Hock at the trade deadline. At the time everyone was like - we dont use two TE's, you dont understand the Bills offense we dont need another TE, blah blah blah.

To be a lions fan. Two top 20 picks and they get a RB and LB.

2023 offense has potential to be best in Bills history
ngbills replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am hopeful. But none of the upgrades you mention would fall in the sure thing bucket. The WR room could be better or could be worse. We added fringe level players hoping they take a leap not superstars. OL we upgraded our G position but doesn’t help if we still have issues at T. The unit as a whole is not drastically better even on paper. The TE position should be better, but again we are banking on an unknown. We have seen rookie TE take awhile to develop. The RB room could be worse without Motor. We will see how Cook develops. -

With JA anything is possible. But there is nothing we have done this off season to take a best ever leap. Still questions on OL, WR, RB. If they go get DHop I could entertain the debate. -
Staying away from sharp objects 🤪

Not happy with the wr room. Adding Beasley would not change that.

Brady to Bucs or Manning to DEN. Hopefully, this is closer to Favre to NYJ than those two.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
