No way around it. Allen was disappointing most of the game. Missed wide open guys. Missed at least two deep TD's where guys are wide open. You heard the crowd booing. You saw receivers visibly upset. However, most thoughts around here on Allen are like politics. You pick your side and just go along with it regardless of reality. So of course many will say things to justify or excuse. But he needs to get better and against better teams or in the playoffs that is a loss.

Play well enough to win? Then why not just keep Tyrod or find the most mediocre Qb that will protect the ball? I am not saying we ditch Allen. I just disagree with all the attempts to show he is actually playing great, he is actually better than xyz, this is the plan with him, its WR fault, fill in your excuse here. Yes, it is going to be a development process. Nothing wrong with being honest when the guy struggles. I dont think I have ever "cried over other team toys".

And Josh Allen playing inconsistently. We should all hope this is not his ceiling. This defense will not sustain this level of play every game and for years to come. In many ways this team is winning despite Allen not because Allen. They would likely have the same outcomes and maybe actually have won the NE game if we had Tyrod Taylor level play thus far. That was not good enough and either should this version of Josh Allen. We have him because the hope is he continue to develop. I can guarantee you the coaches are not pleased and want more from him. No question.

I feel like the "he is raw" is a cop out. We see guys all the time come out of nowhere with a huge game. Just look at Kyle Allen who in his first game threw for more yards and TD's in a game than our Allen has. Allen has yet to do that. He has had chances but he has trouble playing a complete game thus far. That does not mean he wont. But no excuses, he just hasnt done it yet.

Daboll's Forward Handoff: Spreading throughout the league?
ngbills replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is this thing the Bills do where the Center hikes the ball to the QB kind of like a punt. I watched a few games yesterday and think other teams are copying the Bills on that too. -
Depending on the outcome of tomorrows game...AJ Green
ngbills replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ may not be the player he once was but he still would be a huge addition to this team. He becomes the number one and a guy teams need to take into account. That will help all aspects of the Bills offense. Not to mention the Bills getting him would stop another contender from getting him. The Pats could be a spot but him going to OAK, BALT, IND, LAC could help one of those teams edge the Bills out of a playoff spot. I get him for a 2nd or less and am ok as a one year rental. This year has all the workings of being a year that any team can go deep into the playoffs. -
Completely missed on the west coast - OAK and SF.

Joe B. All-22 from Titans game: Dawkins and Hughes shine

Where was Joe B's All 22 from the NE game? -
The league is very muddled these days. Few teams at the top, few at the bottom and a ton in the middle. The teams in the middle can change really fast. Sometimes due to injuries and sometimes for no reason at all. Bottom is clearly - MIA, NYJ, WAS Next Bottom - CIN, DEN, AZ The Closer to Bottom than top - OAK, ATL, PIT, NYG, TEN, TB, CAR, IND, JAC The Closer to Top than Bottom - HOU, MIN, BAL, SEA, CLE, LAC, BUF, DET, SF, GB, LAR, PHI, CHI, DAL, NO The Top - NE, KC Luckily for Bills this season we play 7 games against the bottom of the league. So we can split the remaining 9 games vs mid to better teams and still finish with 11-12 wins. This is the season that anyone could wind up in the AFC title game. Its a year to take advantage of. I do think we are below the Chiefs and Pats, but I when you have a good defense you can make anything happen.

It is lazy to say we dont need Gordon. He is one of the best backs in the league. He instantly upgrades this offense and adds an element that would help out Allen a ton as his security blanket. Gore has been steady and good at what he asked to do. Singletary is still in unknown. Yeldon would not be missed. If this could get done for a 3rd and Yeldon you take it in a heartbeat.

Would you have taken 3-2 at the bye?
ngbills replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Equals 6-2 Then 3-1 or 2-2 vs Browns, Dolphins, Broncos, Cowboys Then 3-1 or 2-2 vs Ravens, Steelers, Pats, Jets Equals best of 12-4 to 10-6. A bunch of teams fighting for the wild card spots. Bills have an advantage being in the east with the Jets and Mia. Hopefully other divisions beat each other up a bit and all wind up 2-2 vs each other. -

Everyone expected the team to win these games. All the talk was how easy the season started for the team. I expect 4-1 or 3-2 at a minimum or I would be looking at the season as headed in the wrong direction. -
Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?
ngbills replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is the problem. You left out what the "Goat" did in the weeks prior to week 5 vs MIA. In week 1 it was 300 yds and 3 tds. In week 3 it was 400 yds and 4 tds. He had been throwing for at least 270 yds each game and completing 70% of his passes. -

Huh? Yes after 15 starts you have not proven yourself. Especially when in college you did not really prove yourself either. No way you can compare a Allen bad game to oh well Drew Brees and Tom Brady have bad games once in a while too. That is crazy talk. -

I think you earn the right to dismiss the bad games. JA has not earned that yet. -

Watch the film...defending JA blindly is the doing the same thing you are saying. He has work to do. Until then people are right. Watch the film...defending JA blindly is the doing the same thing you are saying. He has work to do. Until then people are right. -

Watch the footwork in the Pats game. It was atrocious - numerous examples of simple stuff. Not stepping into his throws, not moving his feet/body with the direction of his pass, etc. Maybe as a whole he has made progress but he is still doing things many QB's dont do in college or even high school. The positive spin on this could be that it shows there is still a ton of improvement once he gets this right. But the flipside is that its just too much for him to handle and he cant get there. I for one am not giving up on him. I think he has a ton of arm potential, toughness and seems to want it. I only chime in because I read these comments wanting to ignore he has any issues, blame others and excuse his bad play. The bar must be higher if we want this to be the franchise guy. -

Bad footwork, bad reads, bad by any standard -
The "Dirtiness" is my point with the Van Noy hit. That was 100% unnecessary and Van Noy knew it. He saw an opportunity to hurt our QB and was smart enough to know we did not have another one available if he couldn't get up. If the NFL truly cares about safety that is the type of play you punish a guy on more than the penalty and cheap fine. The old NFL it was ok to hit guys whenever you want. But that is not ok in todays NFL and the rules say so. The problem is the NFL does not equally enforce them. Burflict makes that hit on Barkley he gets the suspension he just got. Van Noy does it and its a penalty and lets move on. Gronk was the same thing. Its the intention to be dirty that should be stopped. That is much different than a guy playing hard and roughing someone up during the play. Van Noy v Barkley & Gronk v White were Dirty and cowardly plays with no justification. Jones v Allen was a part of the game. You can say Jones went high but whatever happened was while two guys were competing. Allen going tough for the first down and Jones trying to stop him.

Like the effort but fail to see an All-22 take from this? Sounded like general comments and opinions from the game.
