  1. How many times have the Pegula owned Sabres made the playoffs? Prior to their ownership the Sabres had made the playoffs 29 out of 40 years. Only missed 11 times in 40 years. This year would be 9 straight for the Pegulas...that is almost equal to the prior 40 years combined. How can they be doing a better job than any owner of any team, any sport.
  2. Bills jumping back into the first with Wirfs and Thomas both on the board still.
  3. How could anyone expect Lamar Jackson to win the MVP in just his second year. Wait... How could you expect Mahomes to win an MVP in his second year. Wait... What if Murray, Jones, Lock or Mayfield or Darnold win it next year. Still the what do you expect from Allen. You dont need Allen to be MVP or Drew Brees. But you do need him to be better. Nothing wrong with that and there is a middle ground between where he is today and MVP level which is reasonable to expect.
  4. Rumor is the Bills are going with only 3 OL next year to help Allen take another step handling passing vs a rush.
  5. https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/josh-allen/TKQp1vTvEeKZ5AAmVebBJg/videos.htm?videoid=6a49fe09-90c3-43a9-afd5-0fef25f4d68e
  6. Just like if he has terrible seasons some will say he just needs xyz. The majority of people want him to succeed and get better. That gets confused with your just an Allen basher. If Allen becomes what Bills fans want him to be then who cares what some people say.
  7. Problem with that is that it does not really matter how much he improved. Its how high he will get. People are right to have concerns about his accuracy. Yes its getting better in some regards but still not good enough. There are many people out there that dont think accuracy continues to improve. Josh has worked hard on it for multiple years now and where it lands who knows.
  8. So many just agree and defend whatever decisions are made. Its the blind fandom. Like if your a fan of this team how dare you question or not like anything they do. Go root for someone else mindset. We see it all the time. Im on here debating free agent signings and was just told - this FO is not stupid and wont waste money on player xyz. Go root for the Redskins if you want the team that wastes money. Then if the Bills sign the guy that same poster will be talking about how great a move it is.
  9. Any QB not just Allen can make throws out of a 7 step drop. Yes, Allen has a stronger arm that a lot of guys. But people on this board think its some miraculous thing that no one else can do. All NFL QB's can make the throws. The drop is all about the timing of the play and if your OL can protect the QB that long as well as your QB being comfortable in the pocket and making reads. That is not the Bills or Josh Allen at this time.
  10. Not saying I agree but... Gore more yards than Olsen...156 carries for 722 yards and 4.6 ypc in 2018.
  11. What is this guys market value? Looks like it may be in the $5M per range. I'm for it only if is a mentor for Knox and we still are look at Hooper or Henry. Hooper, Knox, Olsen, Sweeney/Croom/Smith.
  12. Pay him way before I pay J Phillips.
  13. We all know ESPN is not always right. But it does provide one gauge of expectations. The 2020 Power Rankings just came out. The Bills start at #11. Looking at the schedule and power ranking comparisons to last year: 2020 Opponents Avg Ranking: 16 2019 Opponents Avg Ranking: 18 On paper 2020 appeared to be a slightly tougher schedule 2020 Games vs Lower Ranked Teams: 10 2019 Games vs Lower Ranked Teams: 2 On paper 2019 appeared to be a tougher schedule 2020 Games vs bottom 25% of league (ranked 25-32): 4 2019 Games vs bottom 25% of league (ranked 25-32): 4 Wash 2020 Games vs bottom 50% of league (ranked 17-32): 8 2019 Games vs bottom 50% of league (ranked 17-32): 9 2019 looks slightly easier
  14. Where do we lack depth? QB - Is it worth upgrading from Barkley? RB - Have money in Yeldon. Could make argument we upgrade here with another depth player. FB - Nothing needed WR - Depth? I would argue only a top WR is needed. Depth would do very little. Brown and Beasley signed. TE - See WR. Knox, Kroft, Sweeney, Croom, Smith. No depth needed. Could upgrade the #1 TE though. OL - Morse, Ford, Dawkins, Nsekhe, Feliciano, Long, Bates, Boettger. Spain come back? Agina, is it depth we need or upgraded starter. DT - Star, Oliver, H Phil, V Taylor. Could use a rookie rather than depth. DE - Murphy, Hughes, Johnson, Love - Does Sahq come back. Depth needed or starter? LB - Milano, Edmunds, Thomsson, Joseph, Dodsen - Could use depth. DB - Hyde, Poyer, White, Johnson, Neal, Johnson, Lewis The only positions I see depth needed is possibly RB, another LB or two, another DB or two. This team is deep at most positions. It lacks top talent at positions rather than depth.
  15. When have we had $90M in cap space and be a time on the rise?
  16. I agree. Cut them if you know they are not in your plans - sometimes if it impacts money (bonus, etc) or if you do it to give the player more time to find a new team. When people say cut I do not think many (if any) are saying just cut with no plan. Its really upgrading is the point.
  17. To upgrade. There is $ savings that can be spent elsewhere and limited roster spots.
  18. I feel the same. The guy will be 43 to start next season and showed a big decline this year. I get the "he had no weapons" argument but still he is not what he once was. Think Manning in his final years with Denver. A few notes on his season: Fewest TD passes since 2006 Most Attempts since 2015 Lowest completion % since 2013 Lowest passing yards per game since 2010 Lowest QBR ever; Only 2nd time qb rating below 90 since 2008 Lowest yard per attempt since 2002
  19. Well last year we played: NE, PHI, BAL, DAL; So one less prior year playoff team. Add in PIT who barely missed 9-6-1 vs 10-6 Indy and that would have been 5. Add in prior year CLE team that was supposed to be so great. Solid TEN that was 9-7, Improved NYJ team with Bell, DEN again... Same can be said every year. How good are you really if you need an "easy" schedule" schedule to just make the playoffs. No team is going 16-0. The Chiefs, 49ers, NE, Sea, etc all have to lose. There will be injuries that impact teams. Bottom line if you cant win 10 vs any schedule you are not good enough period.
  20. Short term w player option deal for AJ Green ($10M per) Draft a WR Get any of Yannick ($15-20M per), Dupree, Barrett, Armstead, Quinn on cheaper deals Draft an edge guy Pay for Hooper or Henry ($10M per) Get the best cheap RB you can find ($2-3M per) OL help There are a number of guys out there. See what deal can get done. ($5-10M per) Draft OL Draft CB Draft LB Draft DT
  21. We have $90M this year. Cap is likely increasing next year and year after etc. Older guys will be rolling off contracts and you can cut guys in the NFL. We do not have an issue with being able to keep our guys. There is also a thing called free agency. Both teams in the Super Bowl used it to supplement good draft picks. Players get better - yes. But this team does not have those players yet. Our WR room is too weak to rely on getting better. Our OL is not built around young guys that will be getting better. We dont have an edge rusher that will get better. So yes - build through the draft and watch those key players get better. Use free agency to fill the holes or hold the fort down until the player does get better. Three to four guys at $7-10M is what we did last year basically. We would be much better off sign 2 guys at $15-20M. White is not a free agent until 2022. You can extend him next offseason if you want or even wait until the next. How do you know this FO values resigning guys? What examples do you have? So far they have signed more free agents than they have resigned guys.Every team in the NFL has guys they have to resign down the road. That does not stop you from improving the roster now via free agency. People are making this out like the Bills are the only team that has its own players to resign someday. Milano is debatable if he is worth a big contract. He is a good player but not sure the type of guy you pay $10-15M per. I could see McD feeling the same way. White is has a few more years. He is an elite CB and would be worth signing. Dawkins is going to be a judgement call. I think he is more critical than Milano given finding a replacement would be tougher. But this FO will have to decide if they want to pay him the big $. Not a sure thing. Poyer I do not think they invest money in that position. If he comes back on similar terms they bring him back but no way shell out a hefty raise to him. Spain, Kurt Coleman, Kevin Johnson, Levi Wallace - These guys should not have significant impacts on your roster building. Shaq - Who knows what they do. I think if he takes a discount they may bring him back. I would not call this FO fiscally conservative. They are paying a C over $10M. They signed Star to $10M. Brown, Beasley, Murphy, Kroft all got big raisers coming here. So not sure where the these guys are not willing to spend comes from. In the NFL you are supposed to spend it all. If you dont you are only limiting your team. That is why there is a salary cap. That does not mean you are not smart about it. If there is a free agent that would help your team and is an upgrade over one of your own - then you do bring them in and maybe that mean you do lose a player. But if the team is overall better who cares. Thanks for advice on rooting for another team. I was born a Bills fan and have been for 40 years. My dogs name like your screen name is Thurman. So you are confused about who you are talking to son. Sounds like you root for mediocre players that you have crushes on over building a super bowl contender.
  22. This is growing on me. AJ Espinoza in 1st, Pittman in 2nd https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2020/01/buffalo-bills-4-round-mock-draft-hawkeyes-edge-too-good-to-pass-up-in-round-1.html
  23. If that is the reality then frankly it would suck. This team is not nearly good enough to think they are the point of just extending and signing our own. I am sure they can find a way to spend the entire $225M on the current roster but that would be horrible mismanagement. They have very few large contracts to hand out this off-season to keep our own free agents or for extensions. Most key players are locked up at least a couple more years. If this year with $90M in cap and the flexibility they is not the year to improve the roster then there never will be one.
  24. Cap is $220M+ total. The Bills are below by the $90M. The cap is not like in the past when it barely increased. It now increases $10-20M per year. There is zero way to spin a team that has $90M in cap space does not the ability to spend.
