  1. I treat the team like I did my teammates, friends or family. I will defend them at all cost against the opposition, attack or whatever. But internally we keep it real. Your not pulling your weight I will let you know. Make a bad decision you will be on notice. If a change needs to be made we better get on board. Thats how I enjoy being a fan. On game day I am always rooting for my team. In the offseason I am hoping the can sign or trade for guys that help the team. But I dont just go along blindly. If I dont like a move the team make I enjoy discussing and debating it. That doesn't mean I am not a fan of the team anymore. Others rather just completely cheer for everything. Every coach or player on the team now is the greatest, every coach ore player that left is the worst. Not my style.
  2. Well having Tom Brady doesnt hurt. Obviously its not all or nothing. But having a star WR helps a QB big time. No question - you have a guy that can bail you out and make everything easier. You can still be successful without that but the margin of error is impacted. And Stafford and Megatron - 2011, 2012 and were ridiculous...
  3. Yep. It is always easier to call the present a success and the past a failure (when it was a failure). We could just as easily be looking back 5 years from now with a new GM and Coach saying the exact same thing. I am going to look forward to seeing how this plays out. The offense does still lack star power. Allen cannot carry the team with his legs etc like last season. We have seen that with every young athletic QB that their legs can help in the early years but not long. McCoy must rebound off a awful season and the OL will need to gel together fast. The bet is a group of decent WR is better than a star WR is yet to be seen. All in all - more experienced Allen, better OL, WR - should be better, TE and RB is a question = better offense. Good enough to get to 7-9 wins is my bet.
  4. On these boards we win basically every year. We get the big name and times are different. We dont get the big name and see times are different we are smarter. Its a human nature maybe of wanting whatever is being done to be right. My posts get criticized for being negative, but I feel I am just more realistic. I have no problem say Tre is legit at CB or Edmunds has a bright future. But I am not going to just say Cole Beasley is obviously a better pickup than A Brown or OBJ would have been because Beane is so smart and could sniff out the right fit.
  5. Here are some of the bigger name remaining free agents. Highlighting ones that the Bills could use. What are your wants? Ansah: Bills talking to do. Would be a good signing at right price (obviously) Houston: Ansah or Houston? Callahan: Do we need one more CB? Suh: Need another DT. On the cheaps yes; Big $ that will be a no. Berry: Unlikely Jernigan: Younger DT. Good pick up at right price. Matthews: Blah, seen better days. Dennard: Slot corner - maybe? Cook: Not bad idea unless going TE in draft. Caught 68 passes last year. Barron: Unlikely Darby: Maybe, could use him. Crowell: Rather go RB in draft Yeldon: Same as above on RB Breeland: Another CB option Cobb: Could maybe see it. Competition with the other similar guys we have brought in. Cut whoever loses out.
  6. You confuse me. The consensus around the country or anyone interested in the NFL was that the Bills were bad. I agree with that assessment. Some games they looked better, some they looked worse. Taken as a whole they were bad. Not sure how that makes me self centered? Go ask 1000 people that watched the NFL if they thought the Bills were bad...I would guess at least 80% say yes. This has nothing to do with me. Its the reality of what the team was last year.
  7. Mayfield to OBJ and Landry. Good story for ESPN. They should be a 10-12 win team form the moves made.
  8. I dont know you. Not sure how you claim to know my thoughts. Anyone being honest would say the Bills were bad last year. That is called being real. Am I supposed to be arguing that they were a really good team last year?
  9. Is 6 not the lowest win total in the past 5 years? I was not claiming them to have been great and suddenly drop off the map. They have been stuck at mediocre to below mediocre for 20 years. That is my point with a lot of this. I have heard for this 20 nearly every year from other fans how this year its different. I will believe it when I see it. I will not let a John Brown and Cole Beasley signing or even Mitch Morse somehow prove to me that its different now. That our GM now gets it. This team was just as average when he got here. He purged talent and has almost gotten back to the level when he got here. And remember Rex screaming about how he is a buffalo guy. No one shows up and doesnt try to say the right things. Let me remind you Beane grew up and lived in North Carolina his whole life basically. He is not from Buffalo and has only Beane here a few years. If he stays a long time I will call him a Buffalo guy. For now he is just playing the part he is supposed to.
  10. Confusion They are a 6 win team. You or whoever I responded to is the one that said they should have won 9. I was saying they looked much more like a 2-3 win team than a 9 win team.
  11. Read the Antonio Brown threads. Many of the excuses were that the Bills did not want to overpay for him because we are still a few years away from the playoffs. Would be a waste as his contract would be up when we are ready to compete.
  12. I do feel much better with Allen, Barkley, Anderson this year. At least NFL level QB's across the roster.
  13. Seriously? They were historically bad last year for stretches of the season. They could have won only 2-3 games as well. They were not a 9 win team. Much of what you said is opinion of where they are headed. Hopefully your positive stance is right. Some people get positive easier then others. I take a more reserved approach. I think it starts with the OL and see some improvement potential there. That will help big time. I am not as positive as others on our WR/TE/RB situation. We will see how it goes but lots of risk. None of those guys require extra attention, game planning, match up issues for other teams. On Defense we are similar to last year. The hope is we dont see some decline in the defense as historically you do in the NFL.
  14. Its on both. He should never have been on the roster. We should not have gone into the season with AJM, Peterman, Allen. Or Taylor, Yates, Peterman the year before.
  15. It happened yes. But its up for debate if it had to happen how it did. Peterman should never been the starter. Many other decisions could have been different. Thats no free pass. Another year like that and these guys could lose their jobs while people want to anoint them best ever status.
  16. I would say - because they have been down this road many times. Every offseason its "different", "that was before", "these guys are better", etc. When Rex got here it was different "Rex would never have come to Buffalo before". When we signed Mario "Times are a changing, its a new era in buffalo". When we sign no one "see these guys are smart and build through the draft". Sign a bunch of guys "these guys are smart and guys want to be here". On and on. That is why people are not all in. To add to that is the team sucked last year after being respectful for most of the past few years.
  17. To me shows a few things. 1. The Browns roster was awful and has improved leaps and bounds in just a few years. In Buffalo some folks still seem to say we need 2-3 more years... 2. Our roster was not as bad prior to McD/Beane. The roster was dismantled and is still not there yet. 3. The Browns are a better team by far right now.

  19. Shouldnt we let training camp and injury issues play out a bit first?
  20. Yes. The stats are comparable. Both have caught over 500 yds three times. Have around same catches and yards. Similar size and age. Play style is different but not a huge difference in what your getting in my opinion. Both guys that can be decent contributors but neither is a game changer. Role guys that can put up ok numbers if used appropriately.
  21. Reality check. We were a awful team last year. We signed some average to above average guys. We will get a c+/b rating on free agency. But we are still a ways away. Good thing is anything can happen in this Nfl.
  22. Odd's are they will be way better? You can always say that after a failure. But there is no reason you cant continue to fail. Beasley and Brown and Kroft could all easily bomb just as bad. If we were talking Antonio Brown or had traded for AJ Green/Julio Jones then I give you the odds are better case. But the odds are the same if you ask me.
  23. Uninformed? Jones = Jones. KB people were expecting him to return to form and be the guy in CAR a few years prior. Kerley is not that diff than Beasley stats wise and many thought would be a solid contributor like he was in SF.
  24. We shall see. He had a Zay Jones, Robert Foster type season but is getting paid like he belongs in the upper tier. Those guys had Peterman, Allen, Anderson, Barkley. Not sure you get more than you would get from many other WR's that could be had. Again, hoping for the best.
  25. Concern is the injuries. Some teams may not have wanted to give the money given the risk.
