  1. I'd be fine with either side of this argument. They can decline the option and give it another year and then just tag him for slightly more money if they want to do it that way, or they can pick the 5th year up now and save a million or two without having the 4th year to check in on his progress. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable signing him long-term right now.
  2. Cleveland is definitely as strong a contender to knock off the Chiefs as anyone at this point. They've had a great offseason and were already good.
  3. Detroit and Cinci continuing their great draft so far today
  4. My favorite and least favorite drafts so far, in order: Favorites: Carolina - I like all of the players they picked and they did a nice job addressing their needs on top of getting good prospects IMO. Chicago - Fields was my #2 QB and they topped it off a 1st round caliber offensive lineman. Cinci - As expected, they took the WR on day 1 knowing they'd come back and get an offensive lineman on day 2. I like Ossai a lot as well. Washington - Basically the same gist as Carolina except I don't love the first two picks as much as I did for Carolina. Detroit - Got one of the best prospects in the draft at #7 and I think Iffy was great value at the end of round 3. Least Favorite: Tampa - Took my lowest rated QB of the past 4 years in the 2nd round. Dallas - I disagree with all of their picks. LA Rams - Waiting until day 2 to make their first choice and taking a blah WR prospect is not ideal. Pittsburgh - Just totally disagree with their strategy of taking the RB when you desperately need OLine. Waited too long for OLine IMO.
  5. Basham isn't really what I had in mind, but this aged pretty well.
  6. Meinerz is pretty much the only one from this list that I'd be happy with at 61.
  7. I think Wilson has good but not great upside. Mac to be doesn't have good upside so I'm more worried about Wilson personally. Mac seems destined to put New England in QB purgatory to me.
  8. Short answer is yes. I would imagine that Rodgers looks at the fact that they've essentially invested nothing on the offensive side of the ball for at least the past 5 years now and despite that, the defense has never been great either. I think there's a fair argument to be made that when you have a QB like Rodgers that can elevate his teammates, it makes sense to try to stack the other side of the ball so that you end up with an elite offense and elite defense. But they've tried to do that and still end up with a below-average defense almost every year. The few early picks they've spent on offense haven't worked out either. Their last 5 drafts they've spent their Day 1 and Day 2 picks on: 2016: DT, OT (who has never been a starter), OLB 2017: CB, S, DT 2018: CB, CB, LB 2019: LB, S, C, TE (who has barely gotten snaps) 2020: QB, RB (who was a reach at the time and is now locked in as a backup), TE (who was generally a healthy scratch). Their offensive weapons are still decent but the WR group is very bland after Adams and they opted not to address it all last year when it was considered one of the deepest classes you'll ever have and instead basically punted all of their picks.
  9. I think he can be good anywhere honestly. Arguably the best nickel back in the country this past year and he's good at LB and safety as well. Sounds like there's medical issues with him though.
  10. It is kinda funny that two of the main options for us was a guy that generated a lot of pressure but literally had 0 sacks and a guy that didn't generate a lot of pressure but nearly led the country in sacks. Drastically different production there though some will definitely argue that Oweh projects as the better pass rusher.
  11. Supposedly there's medical questions that caused JOK's slide. Can't really speak to the others aside from the general consensus being that this is a weak safety and DT class and I think there's a lot of questions about Barmore's mental makeup.
  12. JOK or Moore were my preference but I think Rousseau is a fine pick.
  13. I do think having an edge guy that can set the edge in run defense and clean things up when the initial pressure forces the QB to move is important and something that we lacked this past year. We still need that initial rusher long-term though as I don't really think that's Epenesa. Still some intriguing guys that could fit that criteria available though. I really hope we double dip on edge guys the way Tampa did with corners a couple years ago when they took Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean back to back on day 2.
  14. Some random thoughts on the first round: 49ers made the right call (at least between he and Mac) and I'm in the money so that's always nice Not really a fan of Miami taking Waddle but not surprising they went that way and I get it, just isn't what I would have done. Phillips was a potentially great pick though. Chicago could be scary good Almost always a fan of trading down, but I wouldn't have taken Parsons in the Cowboys' shoes Hopefully this won't bite me in the future but so happy to see Mac end up being New England's guy I love Kadarius Toney and love the trade down, but I think offensive weapons was the least of the Giants' issues The Jaguars have spent so many top picks on RBs recently and the best RB they've had is the undrafted guy from last year lol Kinda nuts that Elijah Moore and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah are still on the board to start Day 2, as is my #5 QB in the class (though that isn't surprising). Lmao that clip never gets old for me
  15. I don't really view JOK as a big nickel; he's just a really good football player where ever you line him up and one of those places you could line him up is as the nickel. To me, he's the best LB in the draft. Having said that, I'm not heartbroken we didn't take him, but I was hoping he or Elijah Moore would be the pick.
  16. Rousseau wouldn't have been my pick personally, but I get the allure. If he develops the right way, he's a guy that can set the edge on first and second down and rush inside on 3rd down. I think the relatively disappointing things are: There were so many edge and corner guys available that we could have taken someone else and played the board a bit (but having said that, the other edge guys don't really have the versatility to kick inside that Rousseau has) Ordinarily if you're going to take a raw prospect like him, you'd like to see him be an explosive athlete and he just isn't. He's a solid athlete for sure, but you'll probably never be blown away by his burst off the edge like you might with a guy like Oweh for example. The standout parts of him athletically are his long arms and huge hands; they increase his tackle radius in a way that a lot of other guys don't have. Still a solid prospect though, and with our connections to Miami's defensive staff, I'm sure we've vetted him well and feel like he'll make the most out of what he has.
  17. Not sure if it was posted in here already, but this is generally considered his best film and it's thrown together into a quick 5 minute video to make it an easy watch. I think they have one play in here where he isn't actually on the field, but aside from that, quick, easy, thorough film of him here.
  18. I’m fine with the pick but his tape is disappointing when you go into it with the context of him being one of the country’s leaders in sacks. At least my gut feeling I posted a day or two was right though lol.
  19. Based on the way the board is working, take JOK or Moore if they’re there and deal with edge and corner on day 2 IMO. Still plenty of options at those spots.
  20. Tonight has gone about as well as I could have ever imagined.
  21. For starters, it would be a massive cap hit. Secondly, they'd be trading the MVP and one of the best QBs of all time for a meh starter and one pick?
  22. They basically punted on their entire 2020 draft. Backup QB, backup RB, and a healthy scratch TE with their first 3 picks.
  23. Realistically, I don't think there is a rookie in this class that wins us a Super Bowl this year. If we do win a Super Bowl, it's because of improvements from players already on the team. I guess maybe one of the corners would be my choice if I had to pick a prospect.
  24. I don't really do an organized draft board outside of the QBs that I do every year. Always have opinions on a decent number of prospects though
  25. To me, Tyrod was roughly an average starting QB. I view Fields as very likely to be a better version of that at minimum with top 10 QB potential if things really click. I think that’s a safe and very good outcome.
