  1. Von Poyer and Hyde skew that number alone. Plus Murray if he was counted in this. The rest of the roster are in their mid to later 20s pretty much.
  2. Man you guys are old! Lol j/k
  3. Now I’m getting Spencer Johnson OLB flashbacks. Thanks a lot 🤮
  4. added gracias
  5. He does a really good job in trenches and that is hard to quantify. You don’t see him getting crushed in the run game and splits double teams in the zone game. I think coaching and his usage has not helped him. They should move him around to create mismatches. In a gap attacking defense he seems to take on a lot of blockers all of the time. Where he is lacking, and where he can take it to the next level is he needs to use his quickness more. Some players are selfish on the dline, leave everyone else out to dry to get their’s. you’ve probably heard stories about JJ Watt being that type…he got his but his teams always sucked, he didn’t do the dirty work. Oliver doesn’t do that. He plays good team defense, and that is what Beane is talking about when he talks about things that don’t show up on the stat sheet. If he played for “him” he would have more sacks and splash plays. He plays a very disciplined form of football. It’s on the coaches to unleash him more imo.
  6. I think Oliver is excellent and I think this signing will help him.
  7. Yep I had perfect timing with that lol. Adding Ford and Gilliam would take the locks to 48, 49 with miller, meaning 4 spots up for grabs.
  8. Forgot about him. Yes think he is a lock
  9. Miller will probably go on PUP. But in essence, there are still only a few spots up for grabs for these guys and incumbents they would need to beat out.
  10. Offense: 26: 2 - QB: Allen, Allen 5 - RB: Harris, Cook, Hines, Gilliam, Murray 6 - WR: Diggs, Davis, Harty, Shakir, Sherfield, Shorter 3 - TE: Knox, Kincaid, Morris 10 - OL - Dawkins, McGovern, Morse, Torrence, Brown, Bates, Doyle, Edwards, Broeker, Quessenberry (or Gouraige) Defense: 27 5 - DT: Jones, Phillips, Oliver, Settle, Ford 5 - DE: Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham, Lawson 6 - LB: Milano, Dodson, Spector, Bernard, Matakevich, Williams 4 - S - Poyer, Hyde, Rapp, Hamlin (lock if healthy) 7 - CB - White, Elam, Benford, Johnson, Neal, Jackson, Austin Specialist: 3 Here I am at 56, l so someone would have to go. I cut AJ Klein, though I am not sure how likely that is. To me a guy like Dodson either wins the job or he isn't here, which is crazy. You have to likely lose a corner unless Miller does go on PUP. The chances of any of these UDFAs making, aside from maybe Gouriage is very slim. I bolded my locks, that roster is 48, essentially 5 spots up for grabs with 2 of those spots likely going to OL and 1 to safety. All my opinions obviously.
  11. It's a lot more difficult to implemenet a pass ctahing running back into the offense becuase if affects pass pro. It is really easy to stick a tight end in the slot. I understand what you are saying, but somehow Kincaid and Knox will be on the field together. Does that take reps Morris and from Shakir, Harty, even Gabe? Probably.
  12. That is pretty much the simplified strategy of pass protection, give ground grudgingly. If you try to keep the man on the line your qb will be in the dirt.
  13. It’s getting really bad
  14. So many of those catches he is making are against NFL corners from the SEC as well. I really like this pick.
  15. Ethan is talking about Jack Anderson and Luke Tenuta, Jack was a 7th round pick 2 years ago and was on the Eagles and now the Giants. Tenuta was a 6th rounder last year and now with the Packers. Anderson made it to the practice squad and was poached while Tenuta never made it through cuts, claimed by the Colts then the Pack. Alec Anderson the UDFA from UCLA is still here. But your point is taken and it makes sense to grab these guys, hope to hold ok to them and to develop them. The Bills sound like they really believe in Broeker and if he makes the roster that will certainly mean he earned it.
  16. None of this suggest anything about scheme. It won’t change. We may see more 12. It doesn’t say anything about Cook or Hines. Harris was signed to get the first downs that we typically use Josh for…to take the wear off of Josh. If Harris gets hurt, which is has a propensity to do, Murray is there to pick up the job. That’s it. You can do a lot worse than Murray. He’s the perfect insurance policy, won’t complain, is a great teammate.
  17. I don’t think Klein is in the discussion. He is there as insurance if it all goes FUBAR. Dodson is going to start out as Beane said “leader of the clubhouse.” Spector and Williams are clearly better athletes, and it is going to come down to their knowledge of the scheme and ability to get everyone lined up. From all accounts Spector and Williams are very intelligent football players. Bernard is also, from all accounts highly intelligent. But I just don’t think he’s the guy.
  18. I’m betting Spector looks amazing since he spent his entire offseason here. There is something to be said for that.
  19. I don’t feel the love for Bernard, I feel it for Dodson the way Beane is talking. It sounds like it is clearly his job to lose. Bernard is a special teamer who has zero chance to win this job imo. He has no advantage physically or experience wise over Spector. Dodson isn’t as good an athlete but has 4 years experience in the system is still only 24. For Bernard, the only thing he has going for him was he was drafted in the 3rd round.
  20. This 100%. A vet in a room full of young guys. He’s produced with limited opportunities in the past, he is great insurance and a great teammate.
  21. And a league executive. Maybe we will finally get some roughing the passer calls to protect Josh.
  22. I’m looking forward to OTA photos to see how thick he got. I’m sure he got after it.
  23. Shaw isn’t this kind of true of all late round draft picks for all teams? That’s part of the fun of the draft is that you can dream on guys. That’s why we are fans. Shorter brings things to the table you can’t teach, and for whatever reason the Bills really like him, perhaps more than other teams. That’s just the way it is. He’s here now, he is ours, and we are going to root for him to succeed.
  24. Maybe have Dion Dawkins and Tyler Matekevich reach out to their former Temple tough teammate.
  25. Yeah I feel like a lot of fan’s expectations of the what a mike looks like is skewed by having a unicorn like Tremaine. Roquan Smith is 6-1, 232 Fred Warner is 6-3, 230 Demario Davis was 6-2, 235 when drafted…now he weights 248. Eric Kendricks is 6-0, 232 With his length and frame I see zero reason why Williams couldn’t add 10-15 lbs of muscle.
