Beane said he is going to play the F. It's like the off ball move tight end that we see so much now. He could be the wing outside the Y, he could be in the backfield. He could be flexed out on the line. He could be in the slot. I love it.

Teams will have to pick their poison. Will you play a 4-3 base and ask an OLB to cover Kincaid? Or do you play a 4-2-5 and risk getting gashed. Philly has used 12 or as Beane called it 11 1/2 personnel to create mismatches for years. There are some great explanations here...This article is literally gold: https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2020/9/1/21403795/eagles-film-room-benefits-12-personnel-zach-ertz-dallas-goedert-tight-ends-contract-philadelphia-nfl This instantly puts a defense in a bind. If they decided to keep 7 men in the box, the offense will have a numbers advantage and should be able to find a gap unblocked. If they put 8 in the box you are forcing them to play a single high safety. Yeah I get that, but right now the league thinks Kincaid is better. Who knows what they turn into.

This is good stuff: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1872048059600396 And his "first draft" video: https://www.buffalobills.com/video/first-draft-dalton-kincaid

Yep they are trying to create a mismatch situation and Mayer doesn't do that. It seems like they have a specific strategy for this. The league clearly disagrees. It seems like Dallas would have taken Kincaid if the Bills didn't and Mayer is still on the board.

Daniels is interesting. Zavala and Duncan too. I have not watched enough Saldiveri, but I'll take a look.
-
I mean I'm not offended or anything. Generally, he talks too much. He's irrelevant. He could take it all as a compliment that they are using that avenue to compliment his route running etc. JMO

Oh sorry I did not realize that I responded to the same person! lol my bad. These darn interwebs are so confusing

I have Tyler Steen there. I like him.
-
Ughh...just sign with the USFL and shut up already.
-
I like the pick and see where you are coming from. I also see where @GunnerBill is coming from there. Because as good as those guys are, none of them were first round picks. Yeah, in hindsight, they should have been, but the positional value is not quite there when drafting. Maybe that is starting to change.
-
I'm like always wrong but I did say this on February 28... "Tight end could be a possibility early in the draft. Bringing in a tight end would also potentially upgrade the offense and Beane mentioned the idea that playing two tight ends could keep teams in their base defense." I think the truth winds up being what they say during combine time before true lying season begins.

Idle Speculation on who will be the Bills Pick at #59
MrEpsYtown replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think @Virgil should put together a poll everyone can complain about -
They are finally investing in the X-Factor position that so many teams have and we have largely ignored for like 30 years. No one should be upset about this.
-
I think there is a chance one of those guys is there at 59, or at least close enough for a trade up. I think we are going to see a massive run on OL and secondary guys. JMO.
-
yeah I am with this. I would much rather have Avila or Bergeron and it isn't close. Zach Pickens too. I think they really like him. I would add Gervon Dexter as well. Maybe that's more of a third round move, but I'm sure boards are all over the place today.
-
My guy is Steen. Honestly love his play. He’s thick, strong athletic. He played some left tackle and right. He can play guard. Just a really versatile piece and he’s just really strong. I think he is closer to the Mauch/Bergeron tier of guys.
-
He’s got that fresh “i’m back on tinder” haircut
-
I think it was a pretty weird first round. It seems likely to get weirder
-
I’d add Tippmann too. Forgot him
-
Sanders Simpson Hyatt Bergeron Avila
-
I think what @Einstein was saying last page about 12 personnel vs nickel is a huge deal. Kincaid forces teams to play small vs that two TE set. I think Mayer is a good player but I don’t think he accomplishes what Beane was talking about there. Kincaid improves the passing game a ton but also improves the running game because of his presence forces the D’s hands. I love it.

Patriots traded out, Steelers took Broderick Jones. Jets took forever and they looked like their grandma just died inside the warroom
-
Someone said a 4th, with is very late and really a 5th. We had two picks within 7 picks of eachother
-
Yeah with how long they took I think it’s clear the Bills took their guy. Same think 100% happened to the Jets earlier.
