  1. Yeah don't love a slot guy there. Nice explosion and speed, but it's the definition of meh. For me, my "no's" in the first round are typically: RTs IOL - Zack Martin/Quentin Nelson level players are the exception Non elite slot WRs without standout traits blocking TEs Run defensing edge guys who don't get sacks Nose tackles RBs other than Saquon/Bijan level guys small/short QBs To me Downs is a non elite smaller slot with meh traits. If he's running in the 4.3s it's a different story at that size.
  2. With pick #2 of the mock draft 3.0, the Houston Texans select Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama The rumor on the block is that the Texans may skip quarterback here. Now that might just mean they don't love CJ Stroud and are looking to trade down a spot of two. With rumors that Nick Caserio could be out, it could also be Bills circa 2017 who decided to punt QB to next year. It seems the Texans wanted Bryce Young, but with him gone, perhaps they wait on Caleb Williams, etc. For the purposes of making this draft different from the first two we completed here in which Young and Stroud went 1-2, I am going with the rumor. At any rate, I love Anderson and feel the Texans may be getting the best player in the draft. It came down to Anderson and Carter for me here, but I felt that Anderson could be a cornerstone piece for DeMeco Ryans and his defense. He brings a dangerous and rugged style to that attacking defense. While Anderson doesn't have an elite measurable physical trait, his elite trait is that he is a really good football player, who, though it feels like he has been around forever, at the age of 21, he has room to get better. He can play end or stand-up OLB in Ryans' hybrid defensive system. @NeverOutNick and the Cardinals are now on the clock @Virgil
  3. Texans, Eagles, Chargers
  4. Watching McDermott’s presser, when he describes what he is looking for in a mike, he described all the characteristics that Jack Campbell has. And Campbell is probably one of the only guys in the draft with those traits. He even made a mini joke about football instincts. Then he was asked about Campbell training with Kuechly and he smirked with a 💩 eating grin and said he hasn’t spoken to Luke. So either McDermott has suddenly become an amazing actor or he really likes Campbell. Now I am not necessarily saying they will target him in the first round or whatever. I just don’t see any scenario in which they don’t love that guy. He is exactly what they want, a guy who is in the right place, who gets everyone lined up, wears the dot, is a leader on the defense and communicates. Just my 2 cents. Not an actual rumor.
  5. I still think it’s going to be one of the four receivers or defense.
  6. I agree with this. Just to kind of put a bow on it, drafting a developmental RT prospect in the first round is insanity.
  7. Gaines is a tough call. He was good his first two years, not top 5 overall pick good, but decent sack production. Then he fell off and dies at 26.
  8. I remember Bills fans being obsessed with Darron Lee. Justin Hunter is another. I am shocked that Brady Quinn didn’t make it. I thought he was a sure thing. I also thought DeShone Kizer would be good. I wanted Joey Harrington bad. I still think he could have made it if he went to a better situation. I loved Jake Locker.
  9. I think it is a combination of both, its all about projection, but if a guy is too slow, he likely can’t hang. But I agree games take precedent.
  10. Imo that comp has to do with how they might be used as pros. Dugger is a crazy explosive athlete, to me that is the difference. But Johnson is coming from a much higher level program so he’s way less raw. I like Johnson a lot, but it seems talking heads are knocking him down based on the combine. It will be very interesting to see where he goes.
  11. I read somewhere that they really like him and Schmitz. Which leads me to believe they want Tippmann.
  12. Oh yeah I agree. But that is why these guys went in the 5th and the 7th respectively. That's just the way the draft works.
  13. He's a weird prospect. His athletic scores at the combine were bad. His 40 was ok. 8 on the bench press is abysmal for a college football player. So you have this kind of position less player who has ok size but is not a great athlete. What do you do with him?
  14. Should we eliminate Benton since we picked him last time? I maybe add Luke Musgrave, Jaquelin Roy, Gervon Dexter, Zach Pickens edges Tuli Tuipulotu and Byron Young Also feels early for Nate Dell, but they have shown a lot of interest for what it's worth.
  15. With the 56th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select DJ Turner, DB, Michigan The Jags need help in the secondary and especially at the nickel spot and I think Turner is good value here. Speed to kill and I think he fits in really well in the Jags Defense. He's an older prospect, but he can step right in and start. Grabbing Myles Murphy and DJ Turner I am pretty happy with our draft. I wasn't able to grab help for Trevor Lawrence, but I don't feel the value was there when I was picking. @LEBills and the Giants are on the clock
  16. They cant be serious with those. Seems like an April fools joke
  17. Ah gotcha my bad. I thought about Kincaid in Rd1 for Jacksonville but thought him and Engram were too similar.
  18. The techniques he learned there could come together eventually. That’s what happened to Kittle. He wasn’t much pf anything coming out, but he had that baseline. LaPorta is better than Kittle was at this point in his career. I know Kittle is one in a million, but the fundamentals he learned at Iowa gave him a shot. He transformed his body and here we are. So I think there is something to be said for that.
  19. I think of it a little different. To me edge guys can play 4-3 end and 3-4 OLB. A base DE can play 4-3 end or 3-4 end (5tech). Groot and Miller are edge players, Basham, AJ are DEs imo. 3-4 5 tech is usually longer and heavier. Prototype 3-4 end is like JJ Watt, Calais Campbell. Those guys could play 4-3 end, but couldn’t OLB.
  20. He was my #2 at 24 for Jacksonville but Murphy was still there
