  1. I am in the minority, but I really like Daryl Johnson. Every time he is on the field he makes things happen. Coming in he couldn't have been more raw, but he has worked and you see an NFL player forming there. He is also a key special teams guy. He is still very young and I believe Beane when he talks about Johnson with the Epenesa's and Rousseau's of the world. Eventually, this is what all of our DEs will look like. Super long and big and tall. The Hughes and Addison types will be phased out imo. If guys wind up on the chopping block, imo, its would be an interior guy since these guys can play inside as well.
  2. Yeah I liked Moore a lot actually. I get the JOK love. I just don't see where he would play in a defense that is mostly pretty conventional. If we didn't re-sign Milano I would love it. JOK is perfect in a place like Baltimore, NE, Miami, places with more Amoeba type defenses. Maybe Atlanta next to Deion Jones. The Zach Wilson thing is just hilarious. Someone needs to get him on the Subway in the south Bronx and film it.
  3. I really don't understand the big nickel obsession here with the Notre Dame guy. There is just no value in taking a player like that in the first round. If he is there in the 2nd, great. Whether or not you like Rousseau is one thing, but getting hung up on this big nickel idea doesn't make sense. They tried beating KC by trying to cover everyone and it didn't work. They tried beating Brady that way for years and did not work. The only way to beat them is to get to the QB, and they need to try to do that rushing only 4 at times. That's what they are trying to do here.
  4. Agreed 100%. I wanted to trade Zay Jones for him awhile back. Ton of potential there. And honestly he is only a few months younger than Ike Boettger so I think he replaces him. Very excited about this one. Me too!
  5. I wonder if the Raiders would be up for a trade. They have Crosby, Ferrell, Arden Key, Carl Nassib, and just signed Yannick Ngakoue and Vic Beasley, Quinton Jefferson, David Irving and Solomon Thomas. I feel like Beane would wait that market out a bit.
  6. Its really just Clowney and Dunlap at this point. Nothing else out there can really be considered an upgrade.
  7. He’s a little taller. He’s essentially a guy who can play fullback, tight end, split out wide, be and h-back off line guy. So he can do it all and be used in the same vein as Kyle is in SF. That’s what he brings to the table imo. Kyle is a little more full back than tight end, Hollister is more tight end. He does have one carry in NE. (Juszcyk only has like 40 carries in his career) But yeah, not same player, similar in terms of the way that he can be used to make the offense multiple. He can be used in the DiMarco five wide set and actually be a useful receiver. Also, he’s going to be a fan favorite because he is always going to be open and will be willing to do anything.
  8. This is going to be everyone’s new favorite player after a few games. He is a do-it-all player that allows the offense to be even more multiple. He’s a poor man’s Kyle Juszcyk. I am happy about this, QB1 I’m sure is happy. It should also light a little fire under Knox because they will be competing for reps. I for one really like it.
  9. Yep not surprised. Always thought he was gonna go play for Rhule
  10. Fuller is the perfect fit if we can find a way.
  11. I’ve always felt that Trubisky was the one the Bills wanted in 2017. They were all over him, and while Beane wasn’t with us yet, he had seen him play a lot in Carolina and I’m sure their was some positive feelings there pass on to Coach. I’ve mentioned this before, and people didn’t like it, but they were never going to take Mahomes, they wanted Trubisky imo. When they realized what it was going to take to get up to draft him, they punted. Anyway, this is a good type of guy on the roster, a young guy who was a former top prospect and obviously has talent. I am excited about him. I think he adds to the QB room and should fit right in here. He has enough experience that it would not be deer in the headlights situation, and he has the talent to do some things if he every has to step in and play.
  12. I think it’s a good idea. Tonyan is essentially what we hope Knox becomes. Former quarterback, late mover to the position. Tonyan’s break out came in year three and before that his career was pretty much floundering. Knox’s first two years results in essentially all of the stats Tonyan put up in yeah three. So I’d love to get Tonyan, but our version of the same player is on our roster. Rudolph or Ertz are much more complimentary players imo.
  13. I mentioned in the Parlady thread that the real news with the Dolphins signing him was that Haack was available, and that I preferred him to BOjo, and Parlady. Haack is the real deal and I’m glad we grabbed him.
  14. He should be back. He is very efficient, though not very explosive, he doesn’t make any mistakes and creates positive gains in the field position game. If you feel like you want to move on, go watch some video of Leodis McKelvin.
  15. So I’d rather have Matt Haack over both of these guys. So in my mind, that’s the real news here.
  16. He has a cool nickname and he is a tough guy for a fan base recently used to charmin soft linemen. But he is very limited in ability. Nice player to have as depth as a back up, but not sure he is a stating player.
  17. Turner is the best player imo and has the Carolina connection. He is also the youngest. Jackson is up there as well, and has some Bobby Johnson connection. Zeitler is still very good. Apparently he was really good with teaching Will Hernandez, so he was a mentor aspect to his presence.
  18. Unless they sign a guy like Turner/Jackson/Zeitler, Boettger and Ford are our starting guards. Jackson has the Bobby Johnson connection, so that makes the most sense. But I think Ike and Cody are the guys next year.
  19. I mean I don’t have sources or anything, but he really fits what we are trying to do defensively. Big, athletic, end who can get to the quarterback and excelled in a rotational situation in New Orleans. He is versatile, can play anywhere on the d line, twists, and an array of pass rush moves. He’s also very young and fits as an investment in this contention window. There is a relentlessness to his game that just seems like our style of ball. And I agree there were so many places to go with that pick.
  20. I still think they chase Trey Hendrickson, but Autry makes sense. He’s a big end with length.
  21. Good deal. Middle ground to where I thought it would be. Beane and McDermott talked from day 1 about developing and signing their own and and they are keeping that promise. I love what we are building.
  22. Agreed. I could see him sitting around for awhile in free agency like Kenny Stills did last year.
  23. If I signed Reiff I’d stick him at Left guard. That said, while I like the upside of Boettger and Ford, having a Vet like Reiff in there is a nice change up. I never thought he was a very good LT and I don’t think he is a RT either. If you can get him on the cheap, why not?
  24. 4.38 out of the back field is pretty nice
  25. Definitely an interesting guy. He has some blazing speed and makes a ton of sense as the other back here. Personally I’d look for something better, but I think you are on the right track and I could see him as a kick the tires guy.
