Mayock is your boy. Forget Kiper he's a trainwreck. 2016 Mock Drafter Points Mike Mayock 126 Walter Football 81 Draftsite.com 76 Rob Rang 64 Chris Burke 62 Mel Kiper/Todd McShay 60 Sporting News 55 Dan Brugler 52 The clear champion from 2016 was Mike Mayock, who pulled a Usain Bolt on the rest of the mock drafters and totally ran away from the field. He racked up more than 50% more points than his next closest competitor, which, to my surprise, was Walter Football. Mayock was correct on eight of the first 12 picks, which was almost twice as many as Kiper and McShay had in their entire first round mock. Here's a link to Mayocks latest. The best anyone can do right now is rank positional players, we still have free agency and draft day moves based on need obviously disrupt everything. This is interesting though: https://www.sbnation.com/2018/2/15/17016560/mike-mayock-positional-rankings-2018-nfl-draft-sam-darnold-josh-allen-josh-rosen .

Brian Daboll is the key to who we draft IMO
Da webster guy replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree totally. There are hundreds of OC's out there, and maybe a few future solid NFL qb's coming out of college. Consider us lucky to have made the playoffs and yet still have enough draft capital to move up enough to grab a top qb prospect without giving away any picks next year. -
Let's hope its not Rudolph
Da webster guy replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if Deshaun didn't light it up last year, guys like Rudolph aren't getting picked until 3rd round. Same might be said for what Zeke and Fournette did for their teams, and how a RB might actually go #1 now. Funny how recent rookie performances can help guys rise and fall on the boards... -
Beane said the charts mean a great deal to him. There are different ones but they use them as a starting point. He said especially on draft day there can be a dozen teams making offers to you for spot and that's a way you can set standards for offers to save time while you're on the clock. But you're partially right in the sense that trading up to get Andrew Luck at #1 would have cost a lot more than trading up to get Myles Garrett at #1 last year. Kiper says for the top few picks there is no standard because it varies w how special the top handful of guys are. I just hope we swing for the home run and go get the guy we want at qb. Whoever the scouts believe it is....

Why I would be happy with Lamar Jackson
Da webster guy replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, sadly this is true. I just don't think accuracy improves much after you've thrown 20,000 balls in your college career. Maybe anticipation and footwork helps a little, but accuracy is either in your dna or it isn't. Deshaun's success is making everybody rethink these athletic Tyrod types, but I just see another Teddy Bridge or Geno Smith in Jackson. . -
Not sure which draft value chart you're using but the Jimmy Johnson one says we wouldnt need to give up nearly as much as you proposed to get into 3rd spot. His chart is just a guideline though, it could be off considerably.
-
Thank you. Spending big is only a bad idea if you miss on other game changing players you'd have signed otherwise. Plus subtract Tyrods cap hit from Cousins and its a no brainer. Plus he gives you back at least 1 first round pick that you'd be burning on a rookie qb to use elsewhere to help the team. So by signing him you get TWO players, one of which is a proven qb

The worst part for the niners is yet to come when they realize they just sold the farm for Garrapollo and he's the next Matt Cassel. Its one thing to miss on a draft pick, but they just doomed their franchise with that contract. Aside from the Jax game, he really was mediocre at best. And we all know the Jags D was overrated, gave up 42 to the Steelers and couldnt hold a three score lead against Pats without Gronk. Jimmy barely beat the lowly bears, eeking out 15 points and throwing a few picks that game too if I remember. Foster is the least of their worries, I'm tellin ya.....
-
We can also flip a coin and get tails 10 times in a row, but it's not likely. Beane and McD know they are gone in a few years if they don't keep this team improving. Can't be done without the QB. They won't stay put because the odds are too much higher with the first few qb's than the 5th or 6th guy. If it was your career, wouldn't you want the best odds?

I wonder if Gronk is going to file a harassment claim for the eagles fans who broke into his house and stole his full library of books: Reading for Dummies Flagrant Intentional Cheapshots for Dummies How to act like a neanderthal for Dummies How to be stoopid for Dummies

Jimmy G - Signs with 49ers - NFL's highest paid player
Da webster guy replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rob Johnson 2.0 The dude beat the Rams backups (still threw a few picks anyway), barely beat the lowly Bears, and looked mediocre against the sucky Texans. The Jags game is where the kid looked good, but as we saw in Pittsburgh when they gave up 42 points, the Jags defense played pretty poorly late in the season . I am amazed at this deal, but it's another team ahead of us in the draft that doesn't need a qb so I'm cool with it. -
Probably the worst part of the Dareus pick is the incredible talent in that draft. Cam, Von, A. J Green, Patrick Peterson, Julio, JJ Watt, Richard Sherman, Tyron Smith, Aldon Quinn, Justin Houston, Mo Wilkerson, Mike Pouncey etc. I think every one of those guys is still with their original team and elite. And we got stuck with the one kid who just never grew up. Sucks.

whaley's work paid off last draft, if there was a redraft, TreD, Dawkins and Milano would all go higher. Zay lower but technically last years draft isn't over until we select KC's first rounder. Thats very likely gonna be the 4th impact player, 5 if Zay pans out. Gotta give Whaley some props for that.

Nick Foles is going nowhere...
Da webster guy replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everything depends on the offer they get. Would you take a 1st rounder for him? Philly may have won the superbowl but they sucked on defense. Pats receivers were running wide open all day and they got shredded for 600+ yards. They traded us a pick for Darby so they're down a pick already, Peters may never make it back to his original form, and they obviously need Dback help. Before you say they won't trade him you need to know what they're being offered. Only an idiot GM would say "hey sorry but we just aren't taking offers at this time..." Personally I think Jax would offer their first rounder for the guy. He could complete that team nicely. -
Why didn’t Belichick play Malcolm Butler?
Da webster guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Say what you want, Chandler is a game changing all pro in his prime, and the Patriots have ZERO pass rush. Foles was barely touched all night, as Belichick pointed out in his post game. Just because Pats have won superbowls since he left is meaningless, were wrong to deal him. I watched every Zona game he dominated about half of them. He would have been a force against the backup tackle for philly. -
Groy will fill in perfectly at center
Da webster guy replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Davis had some great plays too. He's gonna win a roster spot again and rotate in behind Jerry. Looked like our best pass rusher for a few games there. -
Seems like half the mock drafts now are projecting us to take a center. We already have a great backup center in Groy. Did not allow a sack all season in 2016 from 291 pass-blocking snaps. He started the final seven games of the season for us when Wood got hurt in 2016. Played very well, especially in the final two games of the season against tough defensive lines of Jets and Fins. Didn’t allow a sack all season, and surrendered just nine total pressures – seven across those final seven games. 6'5 inches and 325 lbs. 27 years old but not a lot of miles on him. Smart guy. After being thrown into the fire — and not performing all too well — in that crazy Seahawks game that we would have won if we had an average kicker, Groy was a solid in both pass and run. His strong play down the stretch was why we matched the two-year, $5 million offer from the Rams. He will kickass in there.
-
It certainly could happen that way. The Bills would have zero incentive to hurry in a pick on 21, you never know if the phone will ring or not. If something has upside but zero downside you do it. The problem is if we haven't traded up for a qb at that point I will have pressed my DOOMSDAY button and obliterated the entire Metro NY area out of frustration. And that would screw up the whole draft anyway....

Never draft a RB in the 1st round
Da webster guy replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fournette and Zeke both have shown massive impact on the games they played, and both teams are not the same without them. Same reason Barkley will go very high this draft, immediate impact. -
Strange decision, but I think the game came down to the Pats having zero pass rush. They looked like the Bills out there. No matter how good your corners are, there needs to be pressure on the qb or you're going to lose. Shaq Lawson, please get healthy and have a monster year next season for us. You were the 19th overall pick we need ya buddy.

For those who promised to not watch the game
Da webster guy replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll never understand people who like the NFL but refuse to watch the superbowl. Maybe I'm just lucky that I have a family and friends that enjoy get togethers and parties. What a great time. Even the Falcons loss last year was still exciting football despite the whiners winning it. -
we need solutions at qb. not long shots
