I've always put little stock in all these types of rankings. They're just a form of a recency bias, popularity contest more often than not. I'd like to know where last year's LA Rams were ranked.

My understanding is the tag rules are written in stone. I can't ever recall anyone mentioning that is an option, but I could be wrong.

I just don't get him.

Th "team" thing confuses me the most in all of this. The Ravens took a chance on Lamar when a lot of the league didn't believe in him and traded up to draft him with a SB winning, high dollar QB, on the roster. They made Lamar the starter and designed a team around him to succeed. Then they gave him an extremely good offer at the start of his 4th season. I can only look at life through my own eyes, but I would have shown my "loyalty" to the team and signed it. The Baltimore ownership and management have to feel a lot of regret where they find themselves now. I wonder if Lamar even considers that?

We will never know the details evidently. Maybe he could have returned and chose to shut it down for the whole season. Halfway through the season it was apparent the Rams weren't going anywhere, and we don't know what plans Edwards had (if any) with returning to the Rams. Strickly from a Bills fans perspective, it's good he didn't play again last season.

Thanks. FTR, I'm not down on Ike. He's filled in ok when he was needed. Improving the Bills OL and IOL specifically just means in my mind, that a guy like Ike (talent wise) should be on the bubble. His $50k guarantee surely reflects that thinking. In regard to my original post, I guess another (better way) to say what I meant, is Ike in no way should preclude Beane from adding to the IOL in the draft or elsewhere. Although now, I am starting to warm up to the idea for an OT if the pick is high.

11. Agree totally with the G/C comment. LT is the blind spot so it's important. A lot of Josh's fumbles come from the blindside. I do feel if the line is good with those 4, the least important is the RT. Josh has a knacked to move around that DE. It's the guys in his face that cause the most disruption to him IMO.

That's just the "general" one. The "special" one is the one with the E. Or so I was told.

I would say that if he had to sign cheaper, why not with an OL coach you like and a SB contender?

I'm sticking with WR, OL, MLB and DL in some sort of order for the 1st 4 rounds. Beane can go with S, TE, or something with 5 and 6. Future needs are going to have to be prioritized. It just can't be the way it was due to the core players eating up a lot of cap.

1st: Because Ike is always on PUP/IR. LOL. If he isn't he will battle only as depth. 2nd: All true about Doyle, and Quiz is not an answer. Thus, my opinion that an OT will most likely be taken in Day 1 or 2.

So currently going into OTAs I see the OL like this. LOCKS: Dawkins Bates Morris McGovern (or the other way around with Bates) Brown Edwards (Depth and competing for a LG/RG starting spot) Currently the LT/RT Depth: Doyle Quessenberry Boettger (starts season on PUP, unless injuries in camp gives him a chance) Camp depth fighting for PS spots: Mancz Anderson Van Demark There is most definitely still room (and a need for OL) on a Day 1 or Day 2 pick. My thoughts now are this: If an OL is taken on Day 1 it's most likely an OT. If an OL is taken on Day 2 to it could be an OT or G or C depending on their future plans. If an OL is taken on Day 3 or never, I will be disappointed.

Schoen and Daboll are doing what most new GM/HCs do that came from another organization. The Giants have to fill out the "come to camp" roster. Having a number of these players that they know their level of play will helps measure the other players they bring to camp. Every team does this, yes including the Bills.

I'm not saying Morris anything other than a JAG but for a 2nd TE on any NFL team his usage was minimal in the passing game. He had 11 targets with 8 completions for 84 yards and 1 TD. The Bills definitely can use a true TE2 but if they keep a TE3, Morris could be that guy as cheap as he comes. My hope is that comes with around the 4-5th round pick at TE.

He was concussed last year. Other than that, he has been a healthy starter for the Rams all but 2 games his other 3 years.

I predict $1.7M one-year contract.

It seems to me Beane was quite aware of the situation and took advantage of it. Meanwhile, he can trade, sign UFAs that were cut from their original teams or are under the qualifying dollars. He also knows that immediately following the draft, all UFAs will no longer be considered under the formula. Once the dust settles, Beane has right around $10M in cap space and I don't see him adding to that unless some extraordinary options surface.
