This is like when there is a blitz. The WRs need to change their routes. Adapt! All deep routes today. -

Both were going for the ball. Proof: the pick. I hate the no calls against GB's holds and picks in the 1st half for nothing here. -
Bills vs. Packers 2nd Half Game Day Thread

What set up the pattern is no run game and no run defense. Pass rush, Allen, are factors too but damn without a run game this is going to be hard on offense. Can't blame Daboll as there are so little plays to judge the overall strategy and schemes. As for the Bills D, all the Rodgers runs are secondary designs of the pass patterns, just there for the taking. He's running maybe at 80% if so, it's not a question of him being athletic here, but of schemes. -
You beat me to it. A few 15 yard freebies would help LOL

1st Game in Buffalo is a little over a week away !!!!

Good to see other "out of towners" fans like me. Enjoy the game! My son is going to the Jaguars game as part of a school outing! Amazing, it's a 9+ hour bus drive. We didn't see that one coming. I've been to the games 7 times but it's been quite a few years now. Of course I want a W against the Packers, but I mostly want to see if that defense is as in the last 6 quarters. If so, with Allen as QB and that defense, watch out! The Bills will be for real the rest of the way. Screw the "tank the season for picks"! Sure you'd get most likely better players in the draft but every year a team will also lose good ones to normal contract issues, trades, injuries, retirements, etc. The time is always NOW. When you win or even show potential, you can attract quality players that want to sign in a good fit for them. Imagine one great OL signing and speedy receivers salivating at the thought of getting some Allen's deep bombs! I hope Daboll continue on with the creativeness and play designs tailored too Allen's strengths. That was a very encouraging thing to see too. -
Bills' Fan Gets an Allen Hurdle Tattoo

I love the No RAGRETS on that TWitter feed and the one shown here LOL Hey, it make me smile and pumps me up, as it isn't me or anyone I know that did it ha ha. I'd still high five that dude for sure! -
Mike McCarthy calls Allen a 'stud'
Jerome007 replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Indeed. I much prefer Josh's style, he is a "real QB", or more accurately, can be a way more complete one, and I love his run selections so far, but Tyrod could escape pressure better than any other QB. Short crisp passes over the middle can take care of at least 50% of these needs to scramble so I'll take Allen there too. Both he and Tyrod don't get hit often running. Allen has not being doing long enough to be sure, but even in preseason, he barely got hit. Tyrod and Allen get their lumps as passers, not as runners. Cam acts as a running back by design, and I don't get it. It must sometimes hurt his throwing arm if nothing else. But not our problem -
Mic'd Up: Jerry Hughes vs. the Vikings
Jerome007 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All his penalties go to Clay Matthews now. It's a new 2018 rule RIDE THE WAVE I hope they do! The defense has been doormats the first 6 quarters and dominators the last 6. Are they in the middle, slightly below average, a top defense? So hard to know so far, they're all over the spectrum. But if Hughes continue to play like that, Star and Kyle crumble the middle, Trent gets his sacks too, and Tremaine and Milano are good, that secondary will be on easy street... and the Bills too! Allen is awesome, but the rest of the offense is suspect so that D has to dominate. Special teams have been good too. -
The flip to RR was the worst call I've ever seen.
Jerome007 replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That they missed it during play, fine. Understandable. Really is. Depending on angles and all, a ref can make that mistake, no biggie. But that they confirm the bad decision after review? WTH! Even the commentators with their "guest referee" didn't get that one. -
Yeah yeah. Bla bla bla. Why do you think they use two women? JUST because they could be qualified? Like gender and race don't come in the mix these days. Well it goes both ways: you have a greater chance to be hired, and mostly to get noticed and be talked about, but that attention will not all be positive, flowers and rainbows. Deal with it. Not all of us have to like it. That you admit it or not, sports, well men sports, is a world... of men, with its weird bonding, rituals, etc. Primitive? Yes, indeed, no doubt. But instincts are instincts. Football is as manly and tribal a team sport as can be. OF COURSE they could be good, and the MNF crews have been so brutal the last 2 years that gender certainly ain't a guarantee of competence!

I know the White Knights and "Progressives" will flame you, but I get what you mean. And, the NFL has been mega successful so far, including wit women across all brackets. Why change their winning formulas? They really think it will attract more women to watch? Or that hardcore feminists will support a sport?

Matt Milano named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I too would give it to Hughes, but still, great thing and congrats to him! It was fun to watch him. Though when he slammed Cousins I was sure he'd get the RTP call. Glad he didn't, it was a highlight moment for sure. What I can't wait to see, say in the next 3 games, is who are the "real Bills"? The first 6 quarter doormats Bills or the destroyers of the last 6? We all hope it wasn't a fluke but what's to come! Sure there were tons of lucky bounces that won't happen like that often, but the relentless pressure was real. Great coverage too. No Gaines and Davis and it didn't show. Poyer and Hyde were also back to form. -
Would you rather have: Mahomes or both Allen & Tre?
Jerome007 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This And I'm not big on the useless "What ifs". Allen and Tre are here, Mahomes is with the Chiefs, and it ain't changing this year or the next! -
That first preseason game and this last one... he can't seem to catch deep balls and he seems to be a guy that separates for that. It probably CAN be improved and drilled into him though. He's here now so let's go for it. Josh needs some deep threats to make good sue of his cannon arm. In practice use a machine for Forster. No need to give Allen a shoulder issue.
-
Exactly! He was decent. Some dropped passes in the end zone (Josh Allen is not alone), and the first pick or even the first two were not all on him - third one was brutal. Though the Steelers also dropped some INTs but then again, it felt like he was throwing every play! His rally saved his job for sure, otherwise he might have become backup again.

Allen has seemingly improved every half so far
Jerome007 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I've felt that way since the first preseason. He just has too many upsides. And while I don't put too much stock on the combine, the fact he had a super high wonderlic score, combined with his drive/work ethic, certainly bodes well! And who else chuckles a bit inside on 3rd and 14, 3rd and 20? Seems totally doable with this guys at the helm! Though like Romo I did agree with the traditional draw play when they were deep in their own zone. But overall we sense that these are just like 3rd and 8s for most QBs. Fun. -

Jerome007 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me Allen has been fairly consistent. Of course in the Chargers game his inaccuracy was real and concerning - real as opposed to parroting of scouting reports. Weird he had none of these yesterday. Or for that matter that the Bills' D turned from doormat to destroyers. Who can figure this team? LOL Most of Allen's flaw will improve with experience and he has enough strengths to be a good QB right now. Impressive. -

Jerome007 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Romo's comment was great. Just sling it! He was spot on with his advice. A 50 yard INT is like a punt. But overthrow it if in doubt. He's got such an arm we have to see at least 2 such deep throws per game. Even this miss and Foster's drop open up the field. Defenses have to account for those giant throws. -

Jerome007 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really was. 1st and goal at the one that turned into 4th down The long pass to Foster was tougher but still, one you'd expect a NFL level WR to make... Even a high one on the sidelines that he stepped out of bounds (I don't recall to whom). Tougher than the rest, but we see so many WRs doing the great tip toe moves. -
patriots demise is greatly Exaggerated
Jerome007 replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Done? Doormats? Hell no. Beatable? Hell yes For years I've wanted the Bills to beat a PRIME Brady and Bellichick. Not wishing they simply retired as too many Bills fans do. What kind of lack of competitive spirit is that? Well, Brady is as sharp as ever, and BB as good. Yet their team is weaker and beating them on MNF and at home would be SSSSWWWWWWEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT -
After the first pre-season game, I thought he was gone already. But then they only have one cut now at the end...and he managed to make the team. As mentioned, it is at least because he gets open! At the very least that stretches the field but yeah, catching the damn ball would be nice

Shady and the Running Backs moving forward
Jerome007 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been saying for a while now to use Shady that way (as mentioned in original post). AND use some sets with both him and Ivory present, keep the defenses guessing! Daboll actually used Ivory yesterday exactly as we suggest he'd use Shady so good progress. In the fist half. Second was more straight ahead pounding, and that what was needed. I really loved the playcalling in the first half. At last! And it showed "zip it" type of plays is better suited for Allen's skills and mindset than "cute" plays. It was a good idea to use'em but now Daboll should know better how to use his star QB to cater to his strong points and limit his weaknesses. And since TEs are plentiful and RBs a strength, use more sets as the Bears are doing. Not rocket science! -
Ha ha. Love reading the doom comments prior to the game. Was I betting on a Bills win? No, of course, but damn it, keep the fighting spirit! Romo is really THE best out there. And I loved the presnap reads he suggested Josh learn. I hope he gets to see the game with Romo's comments

The Ringer: We Take it All Back - Josh Allen is Good
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Normal to doubt the Bills. Have you read THIS board and the comments from (supposedly) fans? Thinks is, we don't know what the team is. They get blown out then they crush. Only the the 2nd half of the Chargers game was it even. The defense is really something. Between those first 6 quarters and the last 6, could it be more different? Let's hope the latter is the accurate play as it was fun to watch! Anybody recall that QB pressure from the Bills D in the last 5-8 years? As for Allen, IMO he has been the real deal since he stepped on the field. And his WRs still can't catch!
