Offensive Strategy Versus the Texans
Dadonkadonk replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Max protect. 3 man patterns. Let KB, Zay, Clay beat some guys in one on ones. Creative screens. Middle screen to TE. Fly sweeps. WR screens. Half back pass back to Allen -
Lawson is playing well. People keep saying they moved him to DT. Not true. They have played him at DE in some 3-4 looks that aligns him between the G/OT. It's a nice change because he plays the run well and allows Lorax/Hughes to rush from a 2 pt stance. He has also played ok as a traditional 4-3 DE. Still limited pass rush but more stout at DE than PED Murhpy. Most long runs given up this year were to the defensive right side - Hughes and Yarbrough

Most people on here don't believe Allen needs to "produce" now. We can feel good about the future, and critique his game to game performance. It's really not that hard. One can easily see the potential and also see the issues that were brought up in the past that are still not corrected. And the same goes for Eli. He has played terribly for the last two seasons. That said, his supporting cast was worse than TT's last year. And even as he plays poorly, he is still the best QB on their roster. The only legit argument to make is whether the Giants should have taken a QB or traded down instead of taking a RB. Barkley is living up to his draft position. However there is no way I'm taking a RB at #2 when I could have fleeced a number of teams obtaining several high round draft picks.

If the Eagles make the playoffs and Bills don’t the You would trade Shady for moving up 20 spots in the draft??? It could even be less than that if Eagles make the SuperBowl and Bills are bottom 5. That would amount to moving up less than 10 spots, maybe even less. Shady for a 2nd round pick straight up. It is way overpaying but the Eagles may be in desperation mode. Take advantage of them or don’t make the deal.

Why doesn't Allen run more?
Dadonkadonk replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rodgers is top 3 QB and he runs. Young, Elway, Montana, and Staubach are all in the top 10 and they ran often. Brees, Brady, Manning, and Favre not so much. There is no one right way to play QB at an elite level. QBs need to make plays with their feet from time to time. That may be as simple as a QB sneak or a designed run. Ideally he would take off once or twice a game. Just need to be smart and a little lucky. -
Is Josh Allen just a taller Tyrod Taylor
Dadonkadonk replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually Allen is doing better than I thought. His turnovers have been fairly limited so far. My thought was a rookie might throw for more yard but put the defense in a bad spot with turnovers. So far he has been ok with the football. His INT toady was 100% on Streeter and the DB making a very good play on the ball. -

Refs blew that. He was batring the ball. That is 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty I believe -

All this special teams emphasis on the roster and they suck. -
There is a difference in being patient with the QB and MLB development. I agree with that. I wanted Allen and I laughed after the Minnesota game when people were claiminghe was great and I laugh more now after a bad game. However, the roster is worse than it was last year. Even most of the returning players/positions are worse than last year - some significantly so. They went from probowl LG to Ducasse. Went from above average C to one of the worst. Kyle should just retire. He doesn't deserve a roster spot. Same with Lorax. Most rebuilds should not get worse in year 2.

Who hates the 10 minute OT?
Dadonkadonk replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is my vote too -
Well first of all they got the extra pick in the first round by trading down and not taking Mahomes. Second, drafting Mahomes doesn't bring Buffalo Andy Ried, Kelce, Hunt, and the other weapons they have. But your point is well taken. White looks like a star but perhaps they passed on a star QB. Time will tell.

How do you develop Allen with the current offense?
Dadonkadonk replied to DuckyBoys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just give the kid time. Both in games played and time in the pocket. Limit the number of five wide formations. Keep an extra blocker or two near the pocket. Teams are already blitzing quite a bit. So even a three man route may still find holes in the secondary if the protection holds up. And there were times yesterday where he had plenty of time to throw. And future HOF Rodgers gave up a sack fumble too. It happens. A few more bubble screens, a few more plays that may only have one downfield option and a RB as an outlet. Lastly, they have run the little swing pass to the flat several times with success. Time to fake the swing pass and turn it into a wheel route. Both Ivory and Shady should beat linebackers or safeties trying to cover. -
Well every game. Shady has 85 yards on 25 carries. Ivory has 81 yards on 31 carries. I will let you do the math. Ivory has 60 more recieving yards moat of which occurred on one broken play. But it was a great play. Ivory looks like he is running harder whatever that means but he isn't getting the results Shady is. Its not even that close. Ivory has been in decline for years. But sure go ahead and trade Shady and lets see Ivory carry the team with less than 3 YPC.

Well that picture sums it up

Rex ruined a top 5 defense. McBeane has dismantled a top 10 offense. Like I've posted many times, none of this matters if Allen is a franchise QB. All the losses and wasted picks won't matter if he can play at a high level for years. McBeane will keep their jobs this year and will get 2019 to prove they know what they are doing. So far overall the roster is far worse under their control but with a few areas of upgrade - DB,S,PK. The dead money is on them. The cap space is them as well. If they spend and draft well it still won't matter if Allen is a bust. Allen was my top choice. I'm ok but not happy with his play so far. I'm worried about missing some guys who were open on short throws while running or with some pressure and the dumb INT before the half. But the line is so bad and the WR are so bad that it is near impossible to judge.

Punt on 4th and 5 from Packers 47.
Dadonkadonk replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two downs to get 5 yards isn't Madden. Either way they were still down 13 points. I get it. Quick stop and get ball back. Makes sense. But the other team has Aaron Rodgers. Field position really isn't an issue foe elite QB. -
Below average WR. Another bad trade by Beane. Though at the time I had no problem moving Darby and getting a pick and a player in return. I thought Darby was terrible in his second year. But he has played well enough to remain a starter.

So what is the bigger need O-line or WR
Dadonkadonk replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even an argument. Four of the 5 spots are awful. WR get open by scheme and skill. Yes they need to upgrade the skill but none of that matters until they fix the line. Two FA signings, and three draft picks for C,G,G, TE, OT. -

6-0. Does it matter? Plenty of time left in the game even if it doesn't work out. I get it. Its basically mid field. But two chances to get 5 ysrds??? And hell it was a great punt. Pinned them at 11. Worked out great. Instead of a 53 yard TD drive it was an 89 yard TD drive.
