  1. I was expecting (I was hoping for) 5 years 40 million total, so about 8 million AAV. We over paid slightly but he fits the scheme to a tee and he knows McDermott's system very well, but that's a little high for a run clogger and I worry if he sees year 3 or 4 of his contract, 10 million a year is a lot of pressure to live up to. I'm hoping that we pay him the 20 million over the first 2 years and then ideally he restructures down the line as he gets older and loses a step. Star may find himself at 30 years old making 10 million a year and Beane asks him to take a 2 million pay cut in the future and he may have to take it because he knows he won't get a better deal on the market, but that big ass 50 million dollar contract at least gets him in Buffalo. Then there is a chance he actually lives up to it.
  2. This thread is oddly satisfying, kind of like popping a pimple or picking a booger.
  3. 12, 22, 53 and 56 according to the chart, but after the Jets trade, I think it would take more than that.
  4. I'd rather trade with the Bears at 8. None of the other QB needy teams have the capital to make it up that far. #12 and #65 would get us up there.
  5. I think you're the one that is confused my friend. I'd be shocked if Jackson was the guy, he's a sandlot QB like Tyrod. I think we want a rhythmic pocket passer, a QB that beat you with their brain and their arm, I don't see that in Jackson. If we do take Jackson though, you're damn right I'd be confused. Tyrod would have been the perfect bridge for Jackson. I stand by Rudolph btw. Not sure where he goes or where other teams value him, but he is going to be a good pro.
  6. If we wanted a QB like Jackson, we would have kept Tyrod. Allen and Mayfield? Wishful thinking, but a slight chance, but unlikely. Both could be gone in the top 5. Browns, Giants, Jets and Broncos all need QBs, if we were going to trade up, we would have done it already.
  7. Fans only know two names: Rosen and Darnold. Let's just sit here and gush over the two QB prospects that are going 1 and 2 overall! Great idea! Want, want, want and want all you want, it's never going to happen. Can we talk about QBs that we actually have a shot at drafting? Can we do that?
  8. Yeah, because having only Nathan Peterman going into the draft is a good situation to be in. McCarron is making next to nothing r-e-l-a-x.
  9. Allen in Buffalo would be walking into the perfect situation, we are the perfect team for him. We would have a ton of picks to build the team around him, wouldn't have to start right away, we are in my mind the ideal landing spot for him.
  10. It would take 12, 22, 53, 56, 65, 96. In other words all of our picks in RDS 1-3.
  11. That's pretty interesting. With who? I think if we trade up for QB, the #12 is going to have to be involved. #22 - 780 #53 - 370 #56 - 340 #65 - 265 #96 - 116 I don't think that's worth it.
  12. We got Washington, Arizona, Baltimore and Los Angeles. Would Baltimore give up their 1st, 2nd and 3rd to get in the top 10? Or would they kick the tires on Flacco for another year? (I don't think so) #16, #52 and #83 = 1,555 that could get them to 7-8 possibly, but would Chicago or Tampa Bay want to go down that far? Next we got Washington, they own picks #13, #44, #68 that = 1,678. Could possibly get them to #6, but they just signed Alex Smith to a huge deal, Washington trading up is highly unlikely. That leaves Arizona, who in my mind is the biggest threat. They have #15, #47, #79, #97 which equals 1,787, that would get them to #6 (maybe). Bills own #12, #22, #53, #56, #65, #96 which comes out to 3,071. It's true we can outbid any team, but I think the only legitimate threat is Arizona. EDIT: Forgot the Chargers. They own #17, #48, #84 which equals 1,540. That could get them to 8. They have Rivers though, it would make more sense build around him unless a QB drops down the board. Also: #6 - 1,600 #7 - 1,500 #8 - 1,400 #9 - 1,350 #10 - 1,300 Keep in mind that if a team knows you're trading up for a QB, you will be paying more than that! But those numbers are just a baseline/starting point.
  13. I think he's an option at 22. Too bad we don't have the 33rd or 34th pick, that would be the ideal place to take him. I have an early 2nd round grade on him, but I'd overdraft him at 22, it's just the nature of the beast, QBs alwayyys get overdrafted.
  14. The Colts milked them like a cow! The Jets gave up way too much, they have more holes than we do and now they don't have any picks. The Jets are a stupid franchise, I get a sadistic sense of satisfactory watching them flounder like a fish. The owner, all the way down to the GM and coach are complete morons, they're turning into the new Cleveland Browns, it's awesome to watch.
  15. That's a possibility, but I wonder if we are projecting our needs onto other teams. We are talking about 4 QBs in the top 10, has that ever happened before?
  16. It's ironic because Allen has more God given ability than any QB in the draft. I'd kill to have him on the Bills.
  17. Question for you guys, if Mayfield did indeed drop to #6, why would we need to trade up that high for him? The only threat to take Mayfield at that point is Miami. #6 Indy - Luck #7 Tampa Bay - Winston #8 Chicago - Trubisky #9 San Fran - Jimmy G #10 Oakland - Carr #11 Miami - Tannehill, but may take one, maybe not. So if one of the top 4 got past the top 5 picks, there is virtually no threat until #11. If we could just jump up 2-3 spots, we would have a really good chance at one of the top 4.
  18. IMO, Allen, Rosen and Darnold all go top 5. I think Mayfield drops down past the Colts to the 7-10 range and Buffalo jumps Miami for him. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
  19. I'd absolutely trade up for Allen, but only at the right price. Definitely wouldn't trade all the way to 2 for him, but if one of the top 4 fell past 6, who would really be a threat to take a QB at that point? Miami? I'd see if Tampa Bay would take Jerry Hughes and #12 for #7. Hopefully Allen or Mayfield is still available.
  20. I'm not a Bama fan per se, but I do admire some of the prospects they've put out over the years. Forget where mocks have these guys rated, forget what the talking heads think. Every year there are guys that were rated as late 1st round picks that in hindsight we look back and ask ourselves, why wasn't this guy drafted earlier? Does it really matter if you take a guy 10-15 picks earlier than he was projected? I think Rashaan Evans is going to be a top 3 LB in the NFL. He is more explosive and violent than Smith and Edmunds. This guy would make a weak area on our team a strength. Evans is going to be an elite LB at the next level. As far as Rudolph goes, do you really want to take that chance as far as waiting until the 2nd goes? He is a really solid prospect, I could see him going at the very top of the 2nd round, why not just draft him 10 spots higher than where he'll go? He has the potential to be a very solid starter, who cares where mock drafts have him going? QBs always get overdrafted, once again.
  21. Rashaan Evans is the best LB in the draft, I don't care where mock drafts have him rated. Mason Rudolph may be a 2nd round prospect as well, but look how much the Jets gave up for #3. That pick is worth 2,200 and the Jets gave up 2,900. They overdrafted the living hell out of whichever QB they draft, so who cares if we draft an early 2nd round prospect at 22? QBs always get overdrafted.
  22. Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger immediately come to mind as far as great QBs that were guided along by strong rosters during the developmental phases of their careers early on. Nick Foles and Case Keenum benefitted from strong rosters around them last year and did awesome as well.
  23. Maybe you should form your own opinions rather than reading what Walter football says.
  24. They have no supporting cast though, a rookie going to the Jets is entering a very volatile situation. Football is a team sport, we would be better off with Mason Rudolph at 21 and still having 5 other picks to spend in RDS 1-3.
