It all depends who's available and for what price. Beane has said Free agency to fill starter spots, draft for BPA. While I agree with that, need is always considered in the draft to some degree. I think veteran free agent OL is a good value compared to other positions. So for RT I would prefer a FA. a FA RT. Keep Spain as well. draft day 2-3 to add depth. WR is still a huge need. I would go Free agent and draft one in the first. If AJ Green is available I would be all over him. His skill set and contract length would be ideal. I would still draft a WR in the first because you're probably getting the bottom/end of a very talented top-tier of players that compliment what we already have. Allen needs a WR to grow with for when Brown/Beasley/Green are gone in a couple years. Teams with similar or better talent at WR than Brown/Beasley have invested many high draft picks for their young QBs recently. Running back best value is definitely mid-rounds draft pick. There are some very good pass rushers available in Free Agency with Clowney/Ngakoue. If either will come to Buffalo you have to do it. I've spelled out in another thread how we have the cap space to sign one and re-sign all of our current players down the road. I would re-sign shaq if it's under 10 million/year front-loaded. I would transition tag Phillips for 1 year around 13mil. and match. Look to trade him mid-season next year if a reasonable extension can't be worked out and we are healthy at DT.

Watching the DAL - PHI game yesterday I realized we are leaving even more possessions on the field than I thought. In both the BAL and second NE games we got the ball with around 5 minutes left. However, in both cases it was understood this would be our last chance to tie it up because we didn't have 3 timeouts. In both games we previously used at least one of our second half timeouts while the clock was already stopped. While trailing in the second half of the 4th qtr the Bills occasionally run the ball. Dallas did not run once in this situation and after they went 4 and out, they had another chance to force Philly to punt. I don't see the same urgency with this offense in the second half. Dallas was also consistently snapping the ball with 20-25 seconds left on the play clock following a completion in bounds. Of course Dallas failed to force a punt, but they played the clock with common sense McDermott doesn't seem to have.

I agree about Allen, and I'm not claiming the "half" remark as my view. That's a comment on how Allen is viewed by non-Bills fans compared to Mahomes. The weapons excuse is hilarious to me. Does Kelce catch either of those potential Knox TDs? Does Hill catch that one to Beasley? Given the same system/talent Mahomes would put up MUCH better numbers. Yet, many posters on here dismiss him by saying the word weapons repeatedly. It's possible to admit Mahomes is great without condemning Allen. -

Mahomes love on 2BD? This is the only place you will ever see anyone try to argue Allen will ever be half of what Mahomes is currently -
Around the League Week 16

Notice Dallas hasn’t called a run play on this drive. If they turn it over they can still stop Philly and get the ball back for another chance. Something we could have done last night and in the Baltimore game. We choose to just give ourselves one chance. -
@JoshAllenHasBigHands Let's assume we are ONLY signing our own players over the next couple years to see what's left over for Free Agents. Spotrac has a tool for some players where they calculate a players market value. At first glance they have Tre While undervalued IMO at 14mil/per, while Milano is overvalued at 13.3mil/per. So let's call that a wash and say 27mil for both players. Let's say 10mil. average each for Edmunds, Dawkins, Hyde and Poyer: 40 mil. Hell I'll even add another 10 mil just to be safe. 50 mil. We will factor in Allen later since it's still up in the air. 77 mil. for our own players. We currently have around 90 mil in space for just next offseason BEFORE cutting Murphy and maybe Kroft. Also consider those players being re-signed above are already being paid part of that 77mil. so the increase is what cuts into the future cap space not the total. Since we are talking about 2-4 years down the line I'll just approximate future cap space based on this offseason's current cap space plus players' salaries who will be off the books by 2022 AND players' current non-rookie salaries who were re-signed (Hyde, Poyer). I'll leave rookie salaries on the books since there will be draft picks replacing them. Keep in mind the cap will be going up also. 90 mil cap space + (Star's 10) + (Hughe's 9.5) + (Murphy 9) + (NSekhe 5) + (Kroft 6.6) + (Hyde 6.7) + (Poyer 4) + (Long 4) + (Smith 3) = 148 Million 148 - 77 = 71 million dollars left for Allen and outside free agents. I could also assume Beasley and his 7 million are gone by then as he will be 33 and have virtually no cap penalty to cut. I left players like Yeldon, Roberts and Hauschka on the books assuming similar players will be signed. Edit: I forgot to add Lawson and Phillips since I was going off of @JoshAllenHasBigHands's list of our own players to re-sign. It seemed like too much cap space, but ~$50 million is still plenty.

That's a pretty vague description of what will happen. They currently have a TON of cap space for next year. Also, Hughes, Star, and Murphy will all probably be off the books by 2021 creating even more space and need for Lawson, Phillips, Ngakoue(or another Free agent DE). We should be talking about how they are gonna be able to spend all that money while Josh is on a rookie deal, not acting scared that we might have to pass on another Murphy 3 years from now.

Maybe he’s talking about the 3 drive starts after we took the lead. 3 drive starts. 3 runs. 5 yards combined. Why should that matter?
