Terrel Bernard Defensive Player of the Week!

But we do love being wrong when a young player blows away our expectations. The name Spencer comes to mind as well. -
Terrel Bernard Defensive Player of the Week!
GreggTX replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good for TB. He and Christian Benford are 2 of the most underrated players in the league. On offense, Shakir is also undervalued. A Lombardi Trophy might help in that regard. -
Offense - Josh Allen Defense - Terell Bernard Special Teams - Sam Martin Who do you think the 3 best players were? (1 offense, 1 defense, 1 ST)

Is the “Bills window is closed” talk finally over?
GreggTX replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
We honestly have as good a shot at the Lombardi Trophy as anyone. I have a ton of confidence in Beane right now. He doesn't get enough credit. -
And we have the 2nd most dead cap space and a very promising rookie class and plenty of draft capital for next year. Also, I think Beane has actually gotten better at drafting talent.

We may not have the best OT's in the NFL, but we have several guys that are solid. VDM played well. I believe Grable will be a starter some day and a good one. I think, however, the real story is the continuous improvement of Spencer Brown. I think he's still trending up.

11/17/24 Game 11 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Chiefs post game Thread
GreggTX replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
No starting TE. No starting RT. No starting WLB. No WR2. No. 1 WR playing in a cast. That was impressive. The only real bad point was the lack of a running game other than Josh. The Chiefs really are solid against the run. No matter. They're 9-1. -
I WISH Ed Oliver was playing as well as Groot. Who says Rousseau isn't not playing well? Are you kidding?

Week 11, Chefs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
GreggTX replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd love to see the Bills knock the Chiefs off their perch, but the injuries to Cooper (playing with cast?) and Coleman with Milano not ready make this a tough call. Also, the Chiefs' IOL is really good and we don't play to stop the run. Jones and Oliver aren't playing well. At least Pacheco is also out. We'll need at least a +2 TO differential to win. Chiefs 28 Bills 30. Ijust changed my prediction. I saw that the Chiefs will have a PK fresh out of the dumpster for this game! If we're healthy for the playoffs, it's a different story. Also, Taron, Von and Rousseau will be difference makers if we win. Lastly, we MUST eliminate all of those presnap penalties. We can't afford them against a really good opponent. -
Von is healthy, but he's not elite any more. Javon Solomon shows promise, but is it enough? AJ Epinesa is OK, but not special. Rousseau is outstanding overall, but I think he should stay at LE. Personally, I think they need to move on from Von after this season. I'd be looking to move up in the draft and get Von's successor. What's you take?

I think that's quite a stretch to say Benford and Bernard are all-pros, but I like them a lot.
-
And with Beane in charge of the draft, that draft capital looks like gold. When people said that the Bills' SB window was closed they forgot that Beane was just reloading.
-
Of course, the coaches and players have to stay fixed on the next game on the schedule. As a fan, I'm already looking forward to the postseason matchups with the Chiefs, Ravens and/or Texans. I could also see us gearing up for a game with Pittsburgh or Denver. We need to take the Chiefs down with a convincing win before our Bye Week.
-
So far, this rookie class shows real promise. Everyone has noticed Keon and Ray Davis, but they are not alone. In limited snaps, Javon Solomon has really shined with 2 sacks, a FF and a PD. I'm not sure if he's had any TFL, but I wonder why he hasn't earned more snaps. Carter, despite 1 bad outing (Ravens) has looked solid too. Bishop has real potential, but has made what I consider correctable 'rookie mistakes' . The jury's still out on guys like Grable, Granger, Andreesson, Ulofoshio and Hardy (Who looked good at CB in preseason). What's your midseason impression of this group? I think this may Beane's best draft considering where he picked.
-
Actually, his pass defense has improved and they've started leaving him on the field on 3rd down and 'long'.
-
I always liked the pick and last night he proved me right.
-
Unfortunately, there's no one better hanging around. You'd just be creating more dead cap space.
-
1. Ray Davis 2. Josh Allen 3. AJ Epinesa (Even Rogers admitted that the 2nd sack was legit.) 4. Taylor Rapp 5. Taron Johnson (Play of the game!) 6. Greg Rousseau (Quietly made several good plays.) 7. Rasul Douglas (Got beat once or twice, but had several nice plays to offset those.) 8. Dalton Kincaid (Not a great game, but still a solid performance overall.) I gotta give the OL kudos. They've had a couple stinkers, but they showed up tonight. Dawson Knox, who's been MIA showed up too.

Week 6, Bills v. NJ Jest, PREDICT THE SCORE!
GreggTX replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
23-20 Bills in OT. -
Hello? Does the name Shakir ring any bells? You're right about the pass rush, though. Edge should be priority #1 in the 2025 draft.
-
I know this may not be a popular opinion, but I think we should explore the option of trading Matt Milano. He has a history of injuries and we could enter the 2025 draft weekend armed with some serious draft capital. Maybe this is where we get Diggs' successor, our Von Miller heir and continue building at G and DT. This, of couse, depends on Dorian Williams' continued development, but he's playing well. We don't need to decide yet, but the possibility intrigues me. After all, the best ability is availability and why else would we have used a 3rd round pick on Williams? We used a 3rd rounder on Bernard and look at what happened at MLB. I think Milano's contract has us keeping him for another year so he isn't likely to be released outright, but a trade could mitigate the financial impact. We have time to watch Dorian Williams develop too. Also, Beane has shown that he's not afraid to pul the trigger on an explosive trade. Your thoughts?
