Chan Gailey resigns as OC of Dolphins
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That first Dolphins game with Fitzpatrick at the helm was a really good offensive showing. They neutralized our pass rush by getting the ball out quickly and Fitz was on the money that day. It ultimately didn't get them the win, but I don't think the scheme is outdated. -
Neither Tasker nor Bennett make it to HOF Finalist list of 15
MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tasker absolutely belongs. And he'll get there eventually. Might have to wait for some new voters, though. -
Always a risk hiring Patriot underlings...

Did he say something new this time? You guys realize he doesn't actually believe what he says, right? He is just saying it to get a reaction from you. Stop talking about him and he will fade back into obscurity.

I think there have been plenty of QB's with physical gifts as good or even better than Allen apart from maybe arm strength (but maybe Jamarcus Russell even had a stronger arm). What sets Allen apart is the combination of three things: 1) His physical skill set, as mentioned, 2) His mental acuity (he had a very high wonderlic score and can process things quickly, plus he is just generally a sharp dude), and 3) His work ethic, maybe combined with his humble nature that allows him to get the most out of his work ethic because he is his number 1 critic. Combine that with his competitive fire, penchant for leadership and support of his teammates, and drive to be the best and you have a Super QB.

And I think he's right. If Daboll and McDermott had a couple of seasons with him I'd bet he would show vast improvement. He has had little to no help. He has had tons of turnover in the roster and with coaches and schemes. I think Darnold could be a top 15 QB if not higher if he was built up instead of destroyed.

Tua for the first half of every game. Fitz for the second half of every game.

Dion Dawkins: A Letter to Bills Mafia, Part II
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dang. That is so awesome. That's why superstars are so important. You need elite players on both sides of the ball, and it isn't just for the game breaking plays they make. It's for the rest of the squad to be able to look at them and realize just how good you can become. It inspires you to be better yourself. To see that they have all of the tools AND the work ethic. It's inspiring. The 90's Bills had Thurman and Bruce, among others. The Bills now have Allen, Diggs, and White. It's why I think the Colts are not going to beat us. Because they don't have the elite players to overcome like we do. -
Fins Heaven is a hilarious read if you have the time

Backup players don't get to play much. I'm willing to get them some good experience against starters and risk fans crying about running up the score. It's the NFL. Deal with it. The Bills did the right thing and they now understand their backup players better in case they are needed during their playoff run. -
I guess I'd have to see how the playoffs happen before really being able to answer this. If the Bills get spanked by the Colts, that's pretty disappointing. If Josh Allen and Diggs get COVID and can't suit up, it's a little of a different story though. Just have to take things one game at a time. All things bring equal, I would like to see the Bills make it to the conference championship game. I guess. The Ravens choked in the playoffs two years in a row but I think most people think they are still a very good team and a threat in the playoffs. That being said, the Bills need to go prove their worth in the playoffs.

Jets, Chargers request to interview Brian Daboll for HC
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For one thing, there are three wild card slots right now. For another, they have a good QB already. -
This very well could have been the greatest regular season in Bills history. Let's hope we are about to have the greatest postseason in Bills history.
-
There were plenty of fans that agreed with letting them walk. And I can't think of anyone who called him stupid for letting them walk. Yeah, some wanted Beane to keep them, but especially after seeing the contracts that they got, most fans agreed that they were not worth keeping if that was the price tag.

He would be great for Darnold, but he has to see that it's going to be a tough division to find success going forward. So I would bet that the Jets are not his first choice. -
You aren't serious, right?

2021 NFL Draft Order (Non-Playoff Teams)
MJS replied to Prepare to Die's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just depends on how they feel about him. They've already benched him multiple times for Fitzpatrick, and you know he would have been benched against the Bills if Fitzpatrick was available. I personally thought there was no way the Cardinals would move on from Rosen that fast, but as the draft got closer it started looking more and more likely. I don't think it will happen. But it isn't out of the question, I think. -
Hire Bill O'Brien. He beat the Bills in the playoffs once, I heard!

Happened with Rosen, is all I'm saying. Tua has been a liability for them. But it is likely not to happen. Would be crazy if it did, though... -
Round 1 Playoff: Colts at Bills - Sat. 1/9 1:05pm
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, it just isn't going to happen. Our offense is an elite passing offense and that's what they are going to do. And that's what they SHOULD do. It's what they are best at. All our best weapons on offense pass or catch passes.
