  1. Do we really know this? Andy Reid calls the plays. It is his offense. I think that is what is hurting Bienemy's chances at a head coaching position. Nobody knows if he will be good outside of Reid's offense.
  2. The draft does not stop NBA or NHL teams from tanking. They still do it. And tanking is actually effective in those leagues because you only have a few guys on the court / ice at once, so one superstar player can really change your team. In football, only the QB position can change your team like that, and then you still need good coaches and play calling, an oline to protect him, and at least decent weapons to get the ball to. And even if you have all those things, you need a defense good enough to not screw you over constantly (like the Saints for a few years who sucked and missed the playoffs even with prime Drew Brees on their team). The Browns and the Jets have sucked for years and have had so many first round picks and have still not been able to turn around their teams. The Browns did make the playoffs a couple years ago, so I'd say they have elevated themselves to an average to above average team, but it took so many years of bad football. Their issue wasn't talent as much as competent coaching, management, and development of players. Plus the QB position.
  3. For Cam the specific issue with his shoulder is not an accumulation of hits as a running QB. He got his shoulder torn up from one hit, then later injured it again. These were specific events in his career, not an accumulation of lots of hits while outside the pocket. Cam's shoulder injuries happened when he was in the pocket. Many of his hits to the head also happened when he was in the pocket. Refs were not protecting him like other QBs, even when he was in the pocket.
  4. Cam injured his shoulder in the pocket and needed surgery multiple times on it. He never could throw the ball the same after that. It actually doesn't have anything to do with him running the ball and taking hits.
  5. It is astounding to me that anyone ever thought that Gase was good at developing QB's. Because he held a clip board on the sidelines while Manning called his own plays? Just don't get it.
  6. The thing that is unique about Josh is he is an elite passer with a cannon arm AND an elite running QB. In 5 more years if he can't run it like he used to, fine, he is still an elite passer with a cannon for an arm. He is getting smarter and more and more he is able to dissect defenses. So soon he will be an elite QB mentally, not just physically (if he isn't already), so even if he loses some physical ability over time to throw it, he'll still be an elite QB. Still, I voted 10 more years. Guys don't often have 19 year careers. Anything over 14 or 15 years with a QB is just bonus. He has plenty of time to win some Superbowls.
  7. Re-sign Klein for sure. He is great depth and I highly doubt he will command much on the open market. Exactly. Don't go cutting players on the oline unless you KNOW you have upgrades there.
  8. I think Diggs has really grown as a person and a leader since coming to Buffalo. He talked about reading books about leadership after being voted a captain. I think in Minnesota he didn't come across this way as much. I remember watching that video where they voted him the player they would least want to date their sister, and he seemed to really be taken aback by that. I think he has really embraced the veteran leadership role here and embraces his status as a franchise player, and he wants to genuinely be a good human and a good teammate. He is a great dude.
  9. He cashed in a little on his deal with the devil for that swing. For sure.
  10. Oh gross, Collinsworth? We have to listen to him for an entire game?
  11. I saw. No need for any roaches for me to reject Pizza Hut.
  12. Pizza hut is disgusting with their grease sponge crust. I'd eat at Little Caesars before Pizza Hut. Diminoes is 10 times better (since their crust changes).
  13. Duh. That was never going to happen. People were saying the same thing about Anderson a few years ago. By and large, players do not want to get into coaching. Sometimes they do, but usually they don't.
  14. Why would you get crucified for that? Minshew is an excellent backup.
  15. Owners have been forced to sell their respective teams before. It happens.
  16. That article is the dumbest thing I have ever read. Just a tough guy act. So cringe worthy.
  17. So he is supposed to be afraid of the media? What are they going to do, write bad things about him? They were already planning on doing that.
  18. The only thing worse than a patriots fan is a celebrity patriots fan.
  19. A lot of teams are going to fail trying to find the "next" Josh Allen. There isn't another one out there.
  20. If there is any funny business going on, it is by individual teams trying to get advantage over the other teams. Ross wasn't paying his coach to lose because he wanted to fix games. He wanted a higher draft pick so he could start winning in future seasons. It was about winning later, not any kind of betting.
  21. Well it is pretty clear that the stuff with the Dolphins has nothing to do with racism. It's a huge corruption scandal though. Flores was clearly mistreated and asked to do some bad stuff by the owner if everything he is claiming is true. Sounds like there was some real tension between Flores and Ross and it makes sense that Ross would want to move on. Any coach interviewing for that job should take notice and think twice about accepting it. And when this is all over I wonder if Ross will even be allowed to keep the team. Again, none of this Dolphins stuff seems to have to do with racism to me.
  22. This is year three for the Bengals with their current head coach. They had two really bad years. They had a lucky run this year. But they have their QB and some pieces around him now. Their oline is not that good so they need to address that. It's the nature of single elimination football in the playoffs. Davids and beat Goliaths which is what happened with the Bengals beating the Chiefs. Sometimes it doesn't matter how good you are. Any team can beat any team once. And I really like that about football. The Bills are in really good shape. They can continue to add talent in the draft and some free agents. They have a great team and a great QB. They have good coaches. Fans should not be pushing the panic button.
  23. "This is the QB?! I thought it was the water boy..."
  24. Statement from the Broncos: "The allegations from Brian Flores directed toward the Denver Broncos in today's court filing are blatantly false," the Broncos said in a statement. "Our interview with Mr. Flores regarding our head coaching position began promptly at the scheduled time of 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2019, in a Providence, R.I., hotel. There were five Broncos executives present for the interview, which lasted approximately three-and-a-half hours -- the fully allotted time -- and concluded shortly before 11 a.m. "Pages of detailed notes, analysis and evaluations from our interview demonstrate the depth of our conversation and sincere interest in Mr. Flores as a head coaching candidate. Our process was thorough and fair to determine the most qualified candidate for our head coaching position. The Broncos will vigorously defend the integrity and values of our organization -- and its employees -- from such baseless and disparaging claims." Seems like it would be pretty easy to prove whether or not the interview was late, and if they have detailed pages of notes from it, and they are authenticated, I don't know how they could say the interview was a sham.
  25. Did Flores already interview with them and this was before his 2nd interview, or was it before his 1st interview?
