  1. Wow. That looks like a picture from 1975. Crazy. Vintage football right there.
  2. You are allowed to like him. Lots of people do. I absolutely loathe him, for lots of reasons which I will list for you: 1) He is terribly condescending when talking about many players, teams, etc. This is BY FAR the worst thing about him. Many of his "compliments" are backhanded. 2) He has brutal, horrible takes regularly. I think he used to do a lot of homework on players and teams, but just plain doesn't anymore, so his opinions are dated and often just wrong. 3) He has one of the most annoying voices I have ever heard. He has some of the most annoying phraseology I have ever heard "Now HERE'S a guy...", etc. 4) He clearly thinks very highly of himself, but feigns humility for some reason. He thinks he is God's gift to television. 5) He is very biased, and let's that cloud his judgement when reviewing plays, considering penalties, etc. This is fine for fans, but he is not supposed to be a fan. He is part of a national broadcast and should be more objective.
  3. I've never seen so much outrage about something so insignificant. Move on. Exactly. And the "ice ball" claim is just stupid. A bunch of adults scared of snowballs? I wasn't there, but if I got hit with a snowball, I suppose I would just shrug and not care.
  4. No, because he was a late riser from a non power 5 school. Everyone knew he was going to be a project and that you were drafting him for his upside. Nobody thought he was a sure thing. I think the bigger busts that really stand out are the guys you think are locks to be stars in the league and then they flop. But being taken 2nd overall and sucking definitely makes you a certified bust. Just not necessarily in the running for the worst busts of all time. He just seems completely lost from a mental standpoint. I could see him getting good in a few years if he can stick around as a backup somewhere and learn the game. The other issue is this: they want him to be a timing passer and get the ball out quick on every play. That's not who he is. Why not tailor your offense to his strengths? He is not a quick passer. He is a good scrambler. He thrives on the off-script things. He is kind of like Josh Allen in that way. I feel like they are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
  5. I went to the Saints vs Bills game in New Orleans last year. Had no issues at all. Bills fans took over the city and took over the stadium. I feel like it was 50/50 Bills/Saints fans there. The Saints fans around us seemed pretty cool to me. The Bills fans were too. Wish I would have brought ear plugs because they pump in so much artificial noise into that dome it really hurt my ears. That was the only non-enjoyable thing. The Bills won handily and Saints fans filtered out throughout the game until there were only Bills fans. Towards the end we went down into empty seats and Josh Allen made the rounds and fans cheered him on. He got pretty close to us, and that was cool to see him so close.
  6. That should be the death of DirectTV, right? I imagine NFL Sunday Ticket was the only thing keeping its heart beating.
  7. I was promised a poll.
  8. Dak is an above average QB. But he is treated by many like he is way better than he actually is. He reminds me of Carr for the Raiders (who is also overrated). Both of them are high energy, try-hard QB's. They have good games. They have bad games. They just don't have quite enough to be the QB that their team needs them to be when the going gets tough. They cannot put the team on their backs. Heck, I'd put Kirk Cousins slightly above both of them, but he is kind of in the same category.
  9. Belichick just tries to make the media feel so uncomfortable and stupid that they will stop trying to ask any questions. His slow, monotone mumbles are hard to sit through.
  10. I think it is a case of dumb questions, honestly. What is he supposed to say?
  11. I wonder where "General" started. I don't hear people using it anyway, honestly.
  12. Josh Allen is the only one with a positive rating in every single coverage. Mahomes is negative against Cover 2.
  13. No, he has always been among the league leaders. It used to be a lot of fumbles while running the ball. That hasn't happened as much this year. Overall, I think it is because he is a QB who holds onto the ball longer. He is not a quick passer. That means more time for the defense to get to him, but it also means bigger plays.
  14. Oh yeah. I've heard "Sugar High Josh" a lot.
  15. The original nickname!!!
  16. Too slow. Too ugly.
  17. And sports players. Sorry, it has been that way forever whether you like it or not.
  18. I'm less interested in voting and more interested in what has organically been happening. For instance, I see people use "JA17" all the time. I think that came into existence organically, similar to TB12 for Tom Brady. I usually just say "Josh Allen" myself, but I also find myself saying "Joshy Boy" for some reason, sometimes.
  19. Winter Soldier is pretty awesome. I forgot about the Mandalorian. Freak from Firebaugh is interesting.
  20. I'm not proposing us manufacturing any. I was more curious where "General" came from and what others people are hearing.
  21. Pro Football Reference is a great website for looking up stats on players and teams. They also keep track of nicknames for the players, which they list in parentheses right after their real name (I have no idea what sources they use). For instance, Patrick Mahomes has the following nicknames associated with him: Grim Reaper, Showtime, Magic Man, The Musician, Fatrick, The Gunslinger, or Mahomeboy. For Ryan Fitzpatrick they list "Amish Rifle" and "Fitzmagic". Here is Tom Brady's nicknames: TB12, Tom Terrific, Touchdown Tom, GOAT, The Pharaoh, Comeback Kid, or Sir. For Josh Allen they only list one, and it's not one I even see being used anywhere: "General" I see people use others like The Unicorn, JA17, and even The Winter Soldier has been thrown around a few times. Where did they get "General" from? Does that stem from college or something? I found this reddit poll, which was interesting: https://www.reddit.com/r/buffalobills/comments/scf6j0/josh_allens_nickname/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
  22. Yes. He is "Right Josh". That is his official name.
  23. I'm sure he said more. But yeah, not surprising people don't like him if he spoke bad about the city when he left. I don't care myself. I've only been to Buffalo one time.
  24. Didn't he trash the city when he left?
  25. More respectable than robbing people, I suppose...
