Could be scheme? These guys get locked up with blockers nearly every play, but maybe they're being told to do that, to man the gaps to the right/left of them? Every once in a while they should just call, "do whatever you want" defense for the D linemen... couldn't be any worse.

Yep, like most guys I know (football players or not)... you spend the first 30 years of your life trying to gain weight, then the next 70 years trying to lose weight. It's more fun trying to gain weight.

I agree with the ejection as well. I realize often they are already mid-lunge when they see they are about to hit late/inappropriately... and I'll give them that it all happens in a split-second, but you can really help yourself by doing literally anything to show that you're at least trying to ease up, even if slightly after-the-fact. A lot of guys now raise their arms to show they didn't really mean to hit him, or slightly roll it off one way or the other. I wonder if they practice that... they should.

I hope he stays, I like when the Bills go against Gilbert and the other guy.

He makes me so anxious though... I always think he's going to kick it left (the majority of his misses so far). His last kick against the Jets was the best "shape-wise" (imo) - because he started it just slightly right of center and curved right through the middle. Great one - need more of those.

Nice article. Combo of factors for sure. A few thoughts... 1) Like many on this board, I haven't really valued Star all that much the last couple of years. But, maybe I've been wrong and his lack of stats didn't matter, that he really was/is a cog that helps the other 10.. chewing up space and blockers. 2) Hughes just can't seem to do it anymore like he used to. Hurts to say that, but it's not there. 3) We need to get bigger and stronger. As you mentioned, getting blown off the ball 5 yards sometimes is unacceptable and unsustainable. 4) Scheme. What do I know... but I do know I saw holes 10 feet wide vs KC. How does that happen? 5) Milano is a difference-maker. Amazing how 1 guy changes the whole vibe on defense. 6) Have Hyde/Poyer peaked and/or on their way down? 7) Could use me some Lorax right now. 8 ) Would welcome a trade for a very large, mean and nasty Interior DL. Lose pick(s) and $ in the deal if you have to.

Home Thurs Night game vs Dallas. Won for 58 minutes and blew it in the most impossible way in front of an awesome home crowd going nuts. Flushed my Bills hat down the hotel toilet that night. It didn't get all the way down but it was stuffed in the hole but good, right where it should have been.

First half, fine with playing small ball to limit kc offense, but waited way too long to open it up! Never went 4 wide. Looked like a high school game. Brown with 1 att for 0 catches. Run D was pathetic. Lame
