I think that I was very hopeful for JOK at 30. As I was in the TBD Draft Thread that evening, I wasn't alone in that hope. A part of me, a part that I try to suppress, wonders if this wasn't an EJ Manuel type of draft. A situation where the Bills FO decided on a position and not a player. Even though that position group was very thin that particular year. "McBeane" seemed to decide they wanted to "impact the passer". But to me, an undeniably non-expert, this year's pass rushing group was thin. And thus they may have reached for a concept, rather than putting the BPA on the roster. On the other hand I could not help but notice that the two teams behind us in the draft, the SB teams, also drafted pass rushers immediately after the Bills took #50GR. And also that as I reviewed the highlights and video clips of young MR. Rousseau that I thought he looked pretty darn good. So that is what I think about this subject.

I think Hughes got after it in the Playoffs, big time. He was in on Rivers and Jackson at some key moments.

The difference in ownership attitude goes well beyond the HC. The Pegulas have an elite FO and Scouting Department. Beane's assistants are all top notch. Dollars are not spared there. Then there is the upgrade to the "facilities". The OBD facilities were pathetic prior to Mr. Terry and that made it harder to attract talent. Ralph wasn't just cheap at HC and free agency, but top to bottom systemically.

I love NOLA but will be off to the newly rescheduled fall Jazzfest in October. So I won't make the Bills game. Great food, jazz breakfasts, LaFayette Cemetery, Jackson Square, cool music spots everywhere.. They love their Saints down there.

I think the league manufactured this issue to create a diversion from the D. Watson train wreck. Watson's bizarre perversions are now off the front page and forgotten behind this much more palatable news story.

Well, the Boards' collective thinking, I believe, is that if we had real true 1 tech it would make Ed Oliver and the others better. The reasoning behind that is the 1 tech will often take up 1 1/2 to 2 blockers as he battles at the front of the shield wall. The attention that requires from the offense makes everyone around that 1 technique better by being free of extra attention from the enemy. I may be wrong, but I think that is why we are having this discussion. I was one of the TSW posters who was very much hoping that the FO would select a 0/1 technique defensive lineman this weekend.

I often wonder why I don't complain and think out loud that I am better at this than the Bill's FO. Maybe I am just a cool aid drinking sheeple. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt and see the best in people I instead think I see the theme and plan of this draft. It makes some sense to me.

This team is about Josh Allen. Paying Josh Allen and protecting Josh Allen. Through that lens this draft makes plenty of sense.
