Could not agree more. I'm not opposed but this signing would not bring a bulge to my britches. I understand it's a position of need but I would also take Maxx Williams over James. We definitely need to grab one of the top 3 guys in the draft. Any combo of Williams/ Hock, Fant or Smith would solve our TE problem for many seasons.

He showed a lot of promise as a rookie, unfortunately he showed a lot of immaturity as well. Hopefully he has his weight and personal life under control.

I wonder if he worked Wednesdays off in his new contract.

Normally I would agree with this assessment. But in this case I would think with fact that we have a QB that hangs in the pocket and extends plays with his scrambling a safety valve like Hock or Fant for that matter would be awesome for his development. I think their impact would be immediate, especially if his short range accuracy improves.

As I read it there are 3 possible reasons you would post this. 1. You are wondering if the Bills would be interested in bringing him back since it's a position of need. If so, hell no! 2. Maybe you want to reinforce the fact that the Bills did the right thing by releasing him and giving props to the front office. If so, yes kudos are well deserved. 3. You are interning as a junior cap-ologist with the Jags and want to run this by us first before you present it to their GM. If so, Congrats on the new position and yes, CUT HIS LAZY ARSE!!

I just finished watching some of his highlights and think I'm having a change of heart.? I think drafting Hollywood Brown may not be such a bad idea.? Man that kid can separate and fly!

I wouldn't want Brown either. Not because I don't think he's good but because we have enough smallish speedsters. I want the receiver Kelvin Benjamin was supposed to be. Big target red zone threat with good speed making contested catches. Give me McCalf, Harry or Butler.

If I was a FA and saw a situation like Peterman/ McCarron I'd probably sign elsewhere also. Now that I've had a chance to see the cannon on Josh Allen I may reconsider.

I can sympathize with his hardships, hey we all have them in some form or another. But you have to believe OBD will approach this from a business perspective, past production and scheme fit. And from what we've seen he's not a world beater by any means, including his rookie year. TBH he's not much better than a vet minimum contract as a 2nd string player.

Me as well. If they shore up the O line and add a quality Pass rusher in FA that would allow them to take advantage of a very deep WR and TE draft. Any combo of Harry/Brown/Samuel/Butler and Hock/Fant/Smith would be amazing and quite doable.
