  1. In this scenario you may have a point. It wouldn't take much for Miami to move up one spot and sweeten it with a future first. Also allows Oak to have a better position at 11 compared to 21. I've been under the impression for so long now that we have to give up 21 and 22 to get our QB. I'll rephrase my original post. If we need to get in the Top 3, Miami doesn't have the ammo to match us?
  2. Agreed, plus they have nowhere near the ammo Buffalo has. They'd have to sell their soul to the devil. No way they can match the Bills and maintain quality picks for the future.
  3. Did you read it? Bills give up their 2019 first rounder and 21 this year to move up to 10. You don’t think that’s enough?
  4. Agree, but you’re giving up 21, 22 and more. I have no idea who Beane and McDermott covet. I like Rosen also but if I can keep 22 and scoop up Mayfield, woohoo! Make no mistake a FA vet will be here. We are not going Mayfield/ Peterson or Rosen/Peterson into the season, are we?
  5. For who? Star? No thanks. To me he’s the Preston Brown of DTs. Durable, serviceable but not so impressive. No pass rush, no penetration, no TFLs. Basically occupys blocks in the hopes someone else cleans up. He doesn’t have Short, Davis or Kuechley here. Poe? Too expensive but would be a much better choice. Having Phillips with KW as a mentor would be ideal.
  6. The down side is waiting and taking the chance of missing out entirely on the QB you want. Looking at this makes one think that the Bills are intent on keeping 21 and 22 until they see Mayfield in play late and make a move not having to mortgage #22.
  7. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/two-round-2018-nfl-mock-draft-browns-still-take-qb-no-1-after-tyrod-taylor-trade/ In short, trade up to #10 with Oakland and grab Baker Mayfield and keep #22. Grab LB Rashaan Evans at #22 Grab DT Harrison Phillips at #53 Grab C Frank Ragnow at #56 ( don't know much about him but I disagree, especially with WR Christian Kirk still on the board) Who wouldn't be happy with this?
  8. I wouldn’t feel too bad about the Browns right now. They have some really good talent in place and primo draft picks up the wazoo. If they draft Barkley and if their OC “Taylor’s” a scheme for Tyrod that maximizes his strengths they will be competitive and possibly be a 6-8 win team in their first year together. Remember, we tried to make Tyrod something he isn’t ( a pocket timing throwing QB). Cleveland if smart won’t do the whole square peg in round hole routine.
  9. My thoughts exactly! You’re not getting Tyrod for a naked turkey sandwich. The days of taking advantage of the Bills organization is over. That being said I’m not opposed to the idea. Only I would not spend a 1st on Rudolph, he should be there at 53. BPA combo of DT, LB or WR at 21 and 22 and Rudolph at 53 would be ideal ( if that’s the plan). Personally I’d rather give a 2nd and 4th for Foles than just buy Bradford.
  10. No way we give up a 1st for Foles in any equation. A 2nd and 3rd this year or a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year should do it. If you're spending more than that spend it on a younger franchise QB like Rosen, Darnold or Mayfield.
  11. Anyway, we can all agree it's a crapshoot as to who drafts who and when. What I really want to know is do you think Rudolph makes it to 53 and would you be upset or psyched if we get him? Assuming we got any combo of Panye/ Ridley or Vea/ Sutton or Evans/ Kirk
  12. Again, when say " losing steam" I mean Mayfield in the conversation as a top 3 QB being taken. Yes, he will go anywhere between 5-10 but just a few weeks ago he was talked about as the #1 overall. ?
  13. When has the plan ever changed? Isn't that what every coach, team and fan base wants? We all can't have a generational QB on every team.
  14. I made a similar post around the same time. I feel a merger coming on.
  15. Mostly other outlets. Mock drafts, NFL analysts and several articles The Bills just have so many needs to fill that I just can't see paying the price to get someone who may not turn out to be any better than someone later on the board. Also by "losing steam" I mean positioning on the big board. The Big 4 (Rosen, Darnold, Allen and Mayfield) are all Top 15 locks IMO.
  16. I've noticed that Rudolph along with Mayfield have lost a lot of steam in the QB draft conversation. Seems Rosen and Darnold are concensus Top 5 locks while Allen and Jackson are picking up the pace. Mayfield talk is still there but not as enthusiastic as a few weeks ago. Rudolph is starting to look like an afterthought and consolation prize. I know stats and observations don't mean much to many fans but: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2018-nfl-draft-rankings-arm-strength-accuracy-and-everything-to-know-about-qbs/ Going by this Rudolph appears to be the most well rounded QB of the bunch scoring very high in most categories. I'd hate to use any of our (2) first rounders on him but I can see #53 or a trade up after the picks in Round 1. If we could get a stud DT/WR/ or LB with our first 2 and get Rudolph in the second that would be quite the score JMO. Does he drop that far or close to it? Would you be on board with this? I know he's not the sexy pick with the canon arm and killer wheels but he can possibly be a quality pro with proper coaching. On the record I'd rather get Foles for a 2nd at most.
  17. After witnessing what he was able to accomplish last year I have no place in disagreeing with whatever McD plans on going with. The man ended the drought in his first year with limited talent, instilling a sense of discipline and belief and a little luck. Sure he made some rookie mistakes with time management and the whole NateP fiasco but the man has a vision and an eye for talent specific to his plan. If he feels Jackson or any of the other viable option at QB can bring this team closer to a title I'm all in.
  18. Eagles have fielded - not solicited - more than one inquiry and offer for Nick Foles. Eagles' basic answer is it's going to take more than the 1st and 4th round picks they got from Vikings for Sam Bradford. Foles is Super Bowl MVP and best insurance policy in NFL. Did Pennsylvania legalize marijuana?
  19. Every QB is a "system" QB. The "system" is built around the QBs strengths and talent. The difference between the average and the elite is the ability to adapt and improvise and still succeed when defenses figure out or slow down the scheme they run.
  20. Yeah, they're loaded alright. Giving up 505 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing is reminiscent of the 85 Bears.
  21. Totally disagree. If Foles didn't slay Brady then what or who did? The Philly defense that gave up over 600 yards of offense? Foles went toe to toe with Brady and was unflappable tossing clutch throw after clutch throw. Is he the answer? Who knows. But we can do a lot worse than Foles for a second round pick.
  22. I like it but think Norwell will cost too much. Bowman can still play but is a shell of his old self, especially without Willis. Maclin can pound sand. Couldn't produce even with Flacco flinging it. Rather try for Richardson or Gabriel. Agree to re-sign Johnson and DT, Humber and Anderson? Meh... Draft wise I don't think Phillips and Penny drop that far but I hope you're right.
