Was the holding call his fault too? -
Even Bucky Brooks is softening his previously negative opinion on Allen. Feels he may prove the doubters wrong. FANTASY SCOUT'S NOTEBOOK < PREVIOUS Published: Aug. 23, 2019 at 01:47 p.m. Updated: Aug. 23, 2019 at 02:30 p. Bucky Brooks NFL.com Analyst +Follow on Twitter Print Josh Allen, quarterback, Buffalo Bills: I'll admit to questioning the long-term potential of Allen when he was selected seventh overall despite being a sub-60 percent passer in college. However, the Bills' QB1 acquitted himself quite well in Year 1 as a dual-threat weapon with spectacular running skills and impromptu playmaking ability. Allen became the only QB in NFL history to pass for 200-plus yards and rush for at least 100 yards in back-to-back games. No. 17 led all quarterbacks with eight rushing touchdowns and finished second among signal-callers in rushing yards (631, trailing only Lamar Jackson's 695). Although the Bills would prefer for Allen to do his damage with his cannon arm, the running skills certainly add an element to his game that makes defensive coordinators stay up at night. With the Bills surrounding their young QB1 with a stable of catch-and-run specialists on the perimeter (see: Cole Beasley, John Brown and Zay Jones), the second-year pro could really break out in 2019.

Peterman leads Raiders to victory!
billsbackto81 replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gruden was high on Peterman well before he fell flat in Buffalo. Gruden most likely blames his misfortunes on a lack of development and QB coaching. No ill will, hope the kid does well.- 105 replies

Adam Schein GMFB, especially Kay Adams Chris Simms Michael Robinson Trent Dilfer Mel Kiper If you look hard enough there are plenty of writers and analysts that are high on Allen and the Bills. Unfortunately many homers will feel offended if everyone doesn't agree and acknowledge improvements made to the roster and possible success. Same old song and same old solution. Win! The much needed respect and acknowledgements you and I crave will follow.

I agree with your assessment. I've not been impressed with his play at all but by all reports he's healthy and ready to contribute. He may be listed as a starter but I expect him to be heavily rotated. Maybe holding back a bit since its preseason since there's no imminent danger of him being cut.

Brandon Beane. Legend has it he took a perennially bad NFL team and made them a SB Champion within 5 years.

Zerovoltz 2019 Season Predictions
billsbackto81 replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1.Kansas City Chiefs 16-0 If ever there was an offense built that could accomplish the feat of going 16-0, it’s this one. Speed and more speed with Mahomes…they will score at will. The question will be the defense…it’s new and differnent…but is it better? Can it possibly be worse? I don’t see how. Add in top notch special teams and if the D is even 22nd or better, watch out. -
He has been much better in run blocking than pass protection IMHO. Maybe he is hurt or maybe hasn't grasped the O line schemes. You have to remember outside of Dawkins this is a complete overhaul with players that haven't played as a unit up until now. Spain has looked bad, allowing way to much pressure.

I wonder if he was an experienced rider? He was on one of the faster production motorcycles in the world. I've ridden sport bikes for the better part of 30 years and have always come across enthusiasts that want to sprint before they can crawl due to ego or stubborness. Not at all saying he's to blame but those bikes can get away from you pretty quick without the right skill set. RIP Cedric and to all my riding Brotherhood, keep the shiny side up.

The Top 100 Buffalo Bills of All Time

He should definitely be on this list without question. It's not always about the numbers. The guys heart was as big as Rich Stadium. Kemp was #36 -

The names are pretty spot on. The order in which they're in is debatable. Didn't see Takeo Spikes on there. Maybe I missed it, he should be though. -
Is Tyree Jackson Practice Squad worthy?
billsbackto81 replied to Mountain Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, he's not an NFL caliber QB on any level. We picked up Barkley off the scrap heap and he's 10X the QB Jackson is. That alone should tell you something. If at any time we need our 3rd string QB to bail us out during the season then the season is in essence over. -

Jets LB Avery Williamson out for the year

You know, if you're not gonna be obnoxious and crude in your responses it's not much fun for us to gloat in our preseason success. We're not used to communicating with other fan bases that are not coming off all superior N wat not. -

Well well well. Look who makes a cameo appearance at a time of crisis. LOL! You catch the game bud? Allens' looking pretty, pretty good wouldn't you say? 9/12 for 102 , one drop and a throw away. Not bad eh? Didn't even have to run. Solid protection and great touch on the ball. he might turn out pretty decent now that he has some actual talent around him on offense. See you soon.... -
10 observations Bills v. Panthers
billsbackto81 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't know why but I'm just not worried about Hauschka. He's a pro and IIRC hasn't cost us a game with a miss since he's been here. Wade is very intriguing. Like to see him play against the starting opposing defenses to get a better feel. He's got great balance and runs like his hair is on fire. Josh has really taken his intermediate game seriously and it shows. Sweeney and Beasley will see a lot of targets with Brown and Foster keeping the safeties honest. Singletary has surprisingly good hands for someone who didn't receive much in college. -
So true. Barkley has looked every bit the part. Nice knowing our season won't be circling the toilet if Josh gets hurt or under performs. Matt has been really sharp.

Let's say both sides of the ball have a great year, i.e Top 10 finishes. I could see Daboll being a hot candidate for a head coach position simply because of what he has to work with. A second year raw QB project, aging RB's, no name TE's, patchwork O-line, and a WR corps many look upon as underwhelming. A Top 10 finish from that group would be the second greatest miracle next to the parting of the Red Sea. The Defense was already formidable outside some lapses in run stopping. Jerry Hughes, Tre White, Hyde and Poyer, Milano and Edmunds, and now Oliver are all quality defensive players. Frazier has much more talent plus has already had his shot and would be considered by many as a retread . The new NFL wants young, innovative minds to coach there teams. Daboll would fit the bill. Frazier, not so much.
